I've been using GZDoom for almost 2 decades and i ain't changing it over "muh toxic behavior". It simply works. For what i have seen, obviously fake "improvements" while using UZDoom are being talked about in comment sections. What they did to my community is unreal, where did these people came from?

so while the download to belot was taken down from doomworld, it was uploaded to the mod workshop on the nightdive doom remaster, I was able to download it but it refused to play past the menu, i waited like 20 minutes for it to load and still nothing, so i looked into the file and it's 1 massive map that's like 21.5 mb large, not even winter's fury or doom 2 memorial were that big or took nearly as long to load, i've attached the wad file if you guys wanna give it a shot, i also provided a screenshot from slade of the map itself to show you how huge this map is

oh yeah and be warned a lot of the pain and death sounds are just female moaning sounds

Lol, just one look at it and you know its the usual mapping standards of these retards. This is what they pass as "art" nowadays.
 
Yeah, doesn't work in GZDoom, it just crashes. Must be the AIDS. It works in DSDA-Doom though. The guns don't function, looool.
Guns work for me on DSDA-Doom, V0.29.4 on windows, what version are you using?

It partly runs on zdoom V2.8.1 too, but the guns don't work here either. Loaded instantly though, no crashing!

given how i downloaded it from the remaster's mod page it might only work on the remaster
 
Okay, so I actually played through all of it and here are my thoughts:

So you seem to play as some heckin valid troony witch who has turned against xer's coven sisters. Perhaps they have slighted you. Perhaps they are all evil true women and have found out you are the one tranny amongst them, so you have to engage in extreme self defense manouvers. But I find that unlikely given their appearance, it seems that they too are fellow xisters, perhaps you have finally seen the light and have decided to engage in TTD as penance?

I'm actually a big fan of the aesthetics/atmosphere, all the greens and browns kind of remind me of Hexen and probably playing on my nostalgia. There's actually more that I find related to Hexen, but I'll get to that later. Speaking of atmosphere, I also liked the music used throughout.

The map is not as big as I thought it was judging from bingusduck420's screenshot. I found it intuitive enough to navigate. My issue with it is that even though it does make use of the ol horseshoe design and shortcuts, at other times it makes you backtrack an annoyingly long distance after finding a key.

The other biggest annoying thing about it, is that in order to open up the final boss room, you have to hunt and destroy these butt-ugly statues:

It's neat that you actually get a hint that you have to do this, there's some writing on a wall pretty close to the starting area that say something like how the statues are the source of "her", and there's a statue right next to it so you smack it and think "oooh, so I have to destroy these, got it".
The really annoying part however, is that you have to find like two dozen of them. I swear, there are so many it's annoying. It reminded me of Hexen and hunting for switches to progress. Some 1/24th of the puzzle has been solved type stuff... Then at the very end, you hear a door opening noise. Well, if you've paid attention it's kind of obvious where it is, but it's still giving me some "stairs have risen on the seven portals" vibe. I am very shocked I managed to find them all first try without having to go back and search...

Now before I get to the boss fight, I should talk about the weapons. They are kind of... weird looking and I found them lackluster for the most part. I did enjoy the weapon and enemy progression you get throughout the level, I think it feels like it has some sort of buildup. But there is one exception of having to face off an archvile pretty early on with just a shotgun.

The fists are some kind of staff.

You have some sword which is the equivalent of the chainsaw I guess. You get it later on and it's actually really good, does a ton of damage.

The pistol is pretty powerful, but uses 5 ammo to shoot. It's actually pretty strong, but I think it looks and sounds lame.

The shotgun... I really hated it for the most part. It doesn't feel very powerful, I don't like the way it sounds, and I had to use it for most of the map.

The double shotgun, you get this way late in to the map. It fires a ton of pellets.

The chaingun was alright. I kind of liked how it shoots in bursts.

The rocket launcher is butt ugly too, but it has a big ol explosion that I liked.

Ah... and now for the final boss :story: Oh boy, it's the head-honcho of the coven, the dommy mommy gooner queen. Fighting wise, she seems reasonably balanced. Moves around annoyingly fast and has a nasty melee tail swipe attack. She also starts shooting 3 projectiles in a spread out pattern. Overall, not crazy hard, but can definitely mess you up.

Why doesn't she have any hands?! They're not supposed to cut those off too when you transition, or maybe that's what they made the tail out of!

The last thing you see if you don't git gud. Maybe the lack of hands is from all the crawling around, they have eroded away...

All in all, I think it was much better than I thought it would be. The level design felt cohesive, as did the "art" direction, twisted though it may be. I had fun with the weapon and enemy progression. The running around with keys from corner to corner and hunting for statues is annoying, but hey, I'm a big fan of Hexen switch hunting so it was alright. So well done troon-map-dev, you've exceeded my expectations and I even went and made this massive effort post.

That being said, oh boy some of these posts in the doomworld thread are something alright :story:

I actually forgot to mention, but yeah I did have some issues identifying and distinguishing ammo. So I would agree, same for weapons. Since I mentioned Hexen so much, that for example had very distinct weapons/ammo sprites.
 
Played a bit with Woof and it seems to work perfectly with MBF21 settings.

My thoughts largely echo long waters. Removing all sentiments against tr00n insanity, you can tell this project had a rather insane amount of work put into it that it didn't deserve: MIDIs, textures, sprites, the whole schebang. In another reality where "Ayba" here wasn't completely insane, he could have actually put his art talents into far better avenues (and hopefully used a bit less brown in the process, my god it's hard to navigate in this .wad).

As you could probably assume, I wouldn't recommend this wad in a classical sense to most people and it seems "Ayba" would probably agree, especially when he said you had to basically be a tr00n to "get it"... whatever that means. I guess in a sense it did accomplish what it set out to do, which was garner internet tranny brownie points in a place it didn't need to be. If you're into brown colors everywhere, guns that don't feel good, tr00n moaning SFX, and monsters with a tr00ned out Silent Hill bent to them -- sure knock yourself out.
 
To get a Cacaward, you just need to put a whole lotta dick, tits n' pussy in your wad.

Stuff like Eviternity is cool and all, but just imagine the heights it would have reached if the author had the sense to fantasize over genitalia every step along the way.

You couldn't even envision it.
