so matt got pissy about other doom showcase youtubers "copying his style" when he was doing what every doom mod weapons showcase youtuber has been doing since 2018 and took down his shooting range maps, idk why he's throwing a fit the only difference between matt and other showcase youtubers is he used his own shooting range map instead of the one in compendium, so here is my copy of his shooting range map i will also be archiving on based mods, gamebanana, and possibly moddb

Nightdive situation is just depressing. I liked the idea of remastering older games, especially the obscure ones that bring you nostalgia, games that you haven't played in over a decade but can't find it in local stores nor digitally anymore, so I had respect for Nightdive for doing exactly that. Or the console exclusive ported to PC after two decades and whatnot.

Now they just went off the rails. Like wtf happened? This Blood Reremaster is... not even a remaster. lmao It's in even worse state than Fresh Supply was. Are they trying to roleplay as AAA part of the industry where they release trash just to try to salvage it later on with patches?
No permanent discount for FS owners. lol Just straight up separate game charging 28 dollars for it. What was even the point of it? People all claim that it's FS 2.0, so..... was the 'original source code' part just a false advertisement? Or perhaps to port the game to the console peasants?

I hope Xaser, Edward and Kaiser stroked their ego really hard when they were hired good enough because holy shit, I'd feel extreme shame right about now if I was a Nightdive employee.

Sgt Mark IV is reviving Vietdoom and turning it into a commercial game to fund Brutal Fate.

Mark (still) can't code for shit but I respect the hell out of him for doing what he wants and letting nobody pressure him otherwise. Funny how a guy who used to be known as a bit of a lolcow on account of his tendency to be an edgelord and sperg out at people is now one of the sanest people left still making content for Doom.
 
I feel generally positive towards Cacowards mentions (unless its ZDoom shit) and this year is probably one of the better ones in recent memory.

Crimson Horror, Gossip, and Sunless Empire were all solid works. Nothing perfect, but definitely a cut above most posts.

However, things like Neon Overdrive and Blues Brothers hold very little appeal to me. I played Ashtral's conceptual one off for the theme, and while it looked nice the gameplay was meh. Blues Brothers is also a weird Roasterock mapset that does away with hitscan. Something about it rubs me as being too quirky for me to swallow.

the guns always feel clunky, and pretty much all of the enemy sprites were mx paint garbage taken from that one neo nazi doom wad from the early 2000s (i think it was called nzdoom) the only decent ones where taken from doom x and pol.wad
