DOTA 2

RIP /d2g/. It's gone, not forgotten.
It'll be back when gookmoot unfucks his site.
It can be any normal attack, even creeps. It can instantly remove the stun if you are unlucky.
I haven't played much Hoodwink in years, does this redirect destroy trees? And Bushwack counts tethered trees so if they're destroyed the stun ends?
I wonder if WR's Shackle works like that too, I haven't played much of her at all either.

redirect destroy trees?
Yes.
And Bushwack counts tethered trees so if they're destroyed the stun ends?
Yes. Enemy heroes are tethered to the nearest tree at the selected bushwack area. If you break that single tree, the stun stops.

Even trees created by Hoodwink are not safe. This is troublesome if you try to Q + W combo near you. If you get hit before bushwack arrives, the attack may redirect and the combo will fail.
So that's why you must time the skills if you go Timbersaw Hoodwink duo (please do not).

Enemy heroes are tethered to the nearest tree at the selected bushwack area. If you break that single tree, the stun stops.
Well that's dumb, visually at least Bushwack looks like it's tethered to multiple trees.
At minimum if that one tree that counts is destroyed it should check if there are more trees in range and continue the stun if there are.
If you get hit before bushwack arrives, the attack may redirect and the combo will fail.
Prime Valve jank, truly a game in beta.

>subhuman bonobo ape first picks morph as pos 3
>feeds the fuck out of the enemy pos 1 because he's morphling offlane
>vacuum farms the entire jungle all game and leaves nothing for our carry
>absent from all fights, too busy farming
>neither team can end because every time they push to our base he comes back, gets a triple kill, the enemy leaves, he goes back to farming
>60 fucking minutes later we rosh and are ready to push for megas and end
>he gets the aegis
>demands mid Huskar gives him the cheese too
>"No, you already have aegis"
>the morph faggot destroys his items immediately and goes straight mid and feeds
>we lose

Nietzsche speaks of this.

is it worth getting into dota 2 in the year of our Lord 2025 if I've never played it before? my buddy has been playing it for like 10 years and has always told me I should play but never have.

grind some turbo and play support, say nothing but gg
Have already been doing that since I was grinding Crownfall last winter, just playing well, mic only for call outs, commend all. A hundred hours later went from 8k to 9k
Just 1k more before the generous Valve gods let me ping my 5's tango.

The learning curve is very steep and it has seen better days when it comes to non-pro play but nothing hits like it.

no. dota is not a fun game. it is a very frustrating and demoralizing experience. nobody has fun playing it.

Only if your friend plays it with you, it's how I got into it (not playing with your friend obviously but playing with friends I mean) and I think how most people get into it

Go ahead and try, you will probably quit in a week. I tried getting into dota 2 a few months ago, i've had prior attempts and I already have a lot of hours in a specific moba (no not LoL) years ago so i'm familiar with the basics. There's a lot to say about the actual game itself but the real problem is matchmaking. A lot of the people I match with are either people with 2 hours or 2000 hours, it feels absolutely completely random who you get matched with. There's also an extreme amount of people who leave games, not even joking half my games or more had someone leave early or midway through seemingly regardless of who is winning or losing, even though the game punishes you a fair amount for leaving games. It's absurd. You basically have no way to really get good or have fun with what is there because every match is people leaving and either destroying people who suck or getting rekt by people who are far better than you. The games also take a long time because even if one person on the team has a ton of kills, they dont even try to push to win and if your team doesnt completely surrender they'll try to fight and make the game take 20 minutes longer than it should. Very little satisfaction to be had and it will be even worse for you since you have no experience whatsoever.

If you have a lot of time to invest in learning the game and its mechanics for very little satisfaction, then yeah. I've put 932 hours into it but stopped playing a long time ago, it's a pain in the ass because you have to keep up with the game and its updates. If you dip out for a few years, you'll come back and it's like a completely different game, so now you have to learn all the new items and heroes. It's better if you have a group of friends to play with so you can coordinate better, if you go solo into a pub game there's a nonzero chance your team will be retarded or one guy will get pissed and start feeding the enemy team free gold and xp.
I wouldn't say it's worth it. It's a fairly complex game and unless you're stomping everyone's ass, it's not a lot of fun. Also a single game can run anywhere from 45 minutes to over an hour.

Wind was so terrible for most of last year I forgot a friend even gifted me her arcana, decided to try it and

200+ games to get the alternate style? I don't even have that many games with my main!

Not really, aside from keeping up with minor stat increases to dumpster/buff heroes, the occasional item rework (Gleipnir is a caster item now?), changing neutral items on the clock every year and moving around a few trees in the jungle, real changes happen once every few years.
Innates and facets were the big one recently, the major change before that was outposts and BKB rework. I expected the rivers to change the game a lot but they don't have much impact really.

>do that
>team picks 4 supports, not even good supports, in fact out of meta turbo supports like Chen and bat rider.
>Single person doesn't pick support, but picks some meh hero.
>Enemy team proceeds to pick 3 carries and easily stomp.

I've figured out that in turbo, if I don't pick damage, then the team probably isn't going to have any damage.

i'm talking about grinding behaviour score. winning is irrelevant.
