I love Ammar. He's a beast.

Suggestions on finding people to play with? Gonna calibrate this week but I was like 2-3k last year Irrc. Pos4/5 a lil 3.

Let me know if you find a good place for that.
I've tried Reddit and some streamers discord but I think I've removed all of those people again.

new update is crazy cool, i disliked league when i played it a few years ago since it had runes which i thought was gay and feared it might be like that but its actually nice and simple instead, just really 2 choices when you choose a hero in a game so its not too complicated and the abilities are interesting, also they finally added to where you can just see enemy mana bar under their health now without clicking their hero and checking so massive quality of life update for AM players

What a weird fucking patch. Very unevenly applied. A bunch of heroes just got additional toys while others had part of their kit taken away and repackaged as a facet (WK's skellies, CK's strong illusions, Marci's reworked sidekick). And then you have BB which no matter which facet you pick is retains none of the old hero... why?
Very gay. Very disappointing.

Hope you can enjoy the new patch.
There are some fun and interesting new things to toy with. But some changes feel like proxys and not well thought out.
When trying the new Bristel Back, both Facet choices seemed weird. I didn't want to pick either and would have preferred the old Bristel tbh.
Other changes are flat out insane. New Techies just gets 3 additional item slots? In addition he can now use multiple Neutrals at the same time. Bonkers I say.

Today I'm planning to experiment with venge a little and her "attacks behave like melee attacks" facet. I've picked the facet in a match and when the match was basically lost, I bought echo sabre for shits and giggles. Well it works and probably so does Basher. So my plan for Venge sup is now going basher and being annoying as fuck.

Sand King is the real winner this patch. Everything about his kit has been improved. I thought I would miss the invisibility on Sandstorm but motoring along with it in tow is 1000% better. The attempted nerf to the aghs has imo made it better since you get more spikes in the sandstorm. Even tho they don’t last as long you can lock people down way harder. Creep waves used to be one hits if you put caustic on like four creeps. Now you just pop stinger once and they’re all dead.

I’m just so happy.

SK is definitely going to get a nerf.
I'm glad I didn't have to play against him at all recently.

I concluded my Venge experiments, going 4 or 5, taking the "attacks behave like melee" trait and going basher.
My regular venge sup build is Wand, bracer, tranquil boots and then force.
I tried to fit in the basher before going force and leaving out the bracer since basher gives some strength. I didn't feel great tbh, due to venge having a slow attack speed and you don't really pick up anything that will change that, as a sup.
For me going forward, I'd probably consider picking up a basher in specific match ups and situations. For example if I'm against a Jug, who is really popular rn, and we have no way of stopping a spin tp and we don't have a core who would pick up a basher. Although it's also not really needed, since Venge can just swap to stop tps. Doing this as a 4 is probably better and you play it like a semi core, just like you would do with Hoodwink.

Has anyone watched the Noun vs. Shopify Rebellion game?
Rough times for NA, especially when most talent just leaves for EU.

Artour is dogshit and has been the problem ever since his Secret days. Even as someone who'd like to see NA do well, it's hard to root for RTZ stack when EG/shopify has been the graveyard of talent. Abed wasted his best years there, crit wasted most of his career there but is winning now so big ups, iceiceice pretty much ends his career there, though that lineup was the last time NA looked good, Ramzes never looked good after EG. epileptickid/nightfall is still a top tier player somehow.
EU is so fucking stacked. They should have more slots.

Totally agree here.
Don't forget poor SabreLight, he is a good boi.

I'm wondering if the Team will disband now or what they will attempt to change things up.
It's not my original thought but it seems unlikely that there is anyway for change to occur, when you are not willing to break up the constants over the last years. From what I've gathered, it's not only the players, but also the coach and management.
And even if you are willing to make big changes, who do you bring to the team now? I don't play NA but I've only heard bad things about the region.

Saberlight is a grrat talent and actually has a personality. Cap the broadcaster has been doing some great podcasts on his youtube capcasts and on Tundra youtube. Prolly the best dota content ive ever watched, its focused mostly on pro scene.

For sure, I watch a Sabrelight vid from time to time. I wish I could stay this positive in shitty games.
The recent Team Bald streams, including the comms, are fun too.

The TI Qualifiers have finished just now, and here are the 16 participating teams at TI 2024:

So who are you rooting for this year? Will we see Team Spirit become 3-time TI winners and Yatoro becoming the GOAT of DOTA? Will we see AMMAR THE FUCKER become a TI champ? Will we see Gaimin Gladiators bounce back from falling short at TI last year to win it?

Three supporting patches in to 7.36 and it feels like Valve hasn't quite figured out how they're going to balance some of the changes they've made and pick rates for some heroes have floored out. I like the facet system so far, but few heroes feel like both are really even viable, much less good, and some are mystifyingly, hilariously bad. I'd like to see Valve take a look at the lesser picked or lower win rate options and really try to flesh some of them out because for a lot of heroes it feels like one of the facets is a "pick this one if you don't really want to win" button.

Facets (and to a lesser extent, intrinsics) have the same issue that shards have where if the hero doesn't have good facets/shards, the hero is almost certainly going to be bad. I mentioned above that it feels like for some heroes, Valve took some functionality from their kit and repackaged it as a facet. The bare minimum should be a sidegrade but in the case of a handful (BB comes to mind), both options are a fucking downgrade.

Can't agree more.
Some of them feel like place holders until they come up with more interesting and better ones. I don't think that will happen before TI tho. Before they implement something completely busted on accident, they would probably just tweak numbers of the existing once. Feels like the least risky route going forward.
