I am actually at a loss of fucking words here. Somehow his lawyer manages to ask the most retarded questions possible. It's a miracle Spink got away from this relatively unscathed when his lawyer manages to ask things like this on a cross-examination, given all the shit that was presented previously on the trial.

This is another really interesting section of his sentencing hearing, found on pg 22 of the pdf. For context, the judge is explaining how Spink should have originally received a prison sentence of several years back when he was busted for smuggling cocaine, and then proceeds to explain why he was not given that severe punishment.

"The court imposed the 36 months...because of his conduct that was helpful to the government" really makes me think!!!
