Nugget.

I had to put down my best friend of 17 years today due to bad kidneys and I'm devastated. He went from 0-60 in two months.

Cherish your little buddies

And Benny boy I love you and I'll see you again someday.

My sincere condolences for your loss, TT.

Millie almost died of bad kidneys when she was 4 months old. She got through it, and having her go back to being a crazy little pain in the neck actually made me happy. It probably happened because she was born in a barn and never went to a vet when she was little, the people we bought her from her kind of backwoods and told us she was a boy until my cousin who's a former vet broke the news to me after I already had her for a week and a half - her name was Roddick when I thought she was a boy. From the planet of the cat people from Star Ocean...I know that Roddick's girlfriend is named Millie but she was actually named after Millium from Trails of Cold Steel...I thought it would be cute to have a pair of kittens named Millium and Altina but I was only able to get one. Everyone else in my family called her Millie and the name stuck.

I found this grungy little thing at a convenient store parking lot today. It was eating out of the trash. She's terribly skinny, seems to have a double eye infection, has a disgusting infestation of fleas like I've never seen. Not to mention she is covered in some mysterious grit so severely that not even two baths did much for her. I have her in a quarantine room away from my two adult cats, at least until I can get her to the vet tomorrow to see fully what's up with her. At first I fully intended on getting her well and then finding her a good home, but then she started purring and kneading on my arm and I turned to mush.

I guess I have a third cat.

I named her Mio because I've been replaying my favorite entry, II: Crimson Butterfly, of my favorite video game series, Fatal Frame.

Will post glow up pictures later when she looks less like a diseased rat and puts some weight on.

My old man enjoying his favorite quilt, he will throw a howling fit if my mom takes it off the couch to wash.
The quilt itself was supposedly made by Great-Great-Grandma Reldnahc's Grandma who would probably be very happy to know her quilt has become the favorite bed of several elderly cats.

Her ears are bigger than her head lol poor baby. Hopefully she'll recover so she can grow into them.

Turns out the little baby has rhinotracheitis. She's on medicine now, but the thing is she'll always need to be on medicine for it. You don't get rid of it. Since my cats don't have this, I'm forced to look for a single-cat home for her and then thoroughly disinfect the room she's staying in. I really want to keep her, but keeping her with two completely healthy cats would be irresponsible. I'm mainly just glad she's going to be on the mend, God knows how she would have suffered if someone didn't take her in like I did.

Here's to you, little Kiwi kitten. :semperfidelis:

Yeah, it's caused by a herpes virus that is persistent. Its extremely contagious, so your other cats may be already exposed. If your cats develop it, it's not too big of a deal, you just need to use medicine when they flare up. It has no impact on how long they will live, it's just more of an occasional quality of life issue.

The 10 yr old matriarch just hanging out in a flower pot for some reason. I should get mad at her but she's my lil homie I raised when she was still breast feeding (her mama died so had to bottle feed her) can't raise my voice or give her a lil spank to save my life. I just see the silly fat kitten that would waddle to me and sleep on my shoulder as I played vidya.
Edit: shares the same name as @TR0N 's cat and for the same reason. Crimson butterfly is peak

Now she’s obsessed with mirrors and being called a “Chicken Nugget”. Chickie nuggs.

Why are you balding your poor kitteh?

I'm going to guess Lilac Straight Fold since the ears seem so small, but it might just be a trick of the picture since his ears aren't 100% facing forward. Quite a rare and beautiful cat.

Lilac scottish fold according to pedigree. Thats also how his ears are usually. No idea how accurate it is. I am a second owner after first owners developed asthma so they could not keep him around.

Problem is, he sheds A FUCKTON. In on itself it's not bad. Whats bad, is he will actively begin fighting you the moment he sees anything remotely resembling a brush. Even during a vet visit, drugged on a medication which name I forgot (to make him mellow and slow) lil dickhead bit almost through thick leather gloves worn by the vet. At home he will piss and shit himself just to not let you groom him. I am out of options at this point, and I can see its painful to him - so he gets a nice buzzcut under anesthetic. His fur grows back so quickly it will look normal soon again, but ye, there are no alternatives.

Yep, he is indeed a Scottish Fold, but he's considered a "Straight Fold" because his ears aren't folded, they point up/out. So, a "straight fold" will have normal shaped cat ears, but they will be rather small. Exceptionally cute. This is my little girl, she is a single fold, which means her ears are small and folded, pointing downward, but she can still move them like a normal cat.

A double fold the ears are much more folded and close to their head and are stuck in place, the cat can't move them.

So there are essentially 3 types of Scottish Fold.

I have had cats that hate brushing that much, it's a real pain. Scottish Folds and British Shorthairs, having a double coat, shed like demons. It's why they are so plushy and soft, but a pain in the ass to keep groomed.

I have one like this, who isn't quite as reactive as that, but she will not let me brush her. Holding her down only distresses her. and as she is normally an incredibly sweet and affectionate cat, I don't want that to change. While not a pedigreed anything (just a rather large black cat) she is double coated with very profuse long fur. So rather than letting her choke on her own hairballs and make me crazy trying to vacuum up the tumbleweeds, she gets a butch cut every spring, and a touch up and 'sanitary trim' in the fall. I don't blame you one bit. I tip the groomer as much as I can spare. Good luck.

This guy will come running if he hears the sound of the brush. Even faster than for the sound of a wet food bag.
(Idk just liked the shadows and his expression here, might delete later)
