I actually did like Clara, but I have to agree that Moffet had a very annoying habit of glorifying her which is only matched by Rose Tyler's shilling.
Case in point, Heaven Sent was an amazing episode, I dare to say it's one of the very best of Doctor Who, but it's follow up was ruined by Moffat's shilling Clara And "Me" (aka that girl that plays Arya Stark's character).
Heaven's sent ending had the Doctor was as it's lowest. Clara died because she tried to imitate him, and "Me" had betrayed him . No Tardis. No Sonic.
After enduring literally billions of years of torture by the time lords, the doctor finally arrived inside Gallifrey for the first time, on-screen, since it was destroyed in the Time War (not counting the farm scene in the 50th). We are promised answers about the mystery of "the hybrid" that had been hyped the whole season that would bring ruin that made both the Daleks and the Timelord tremble in fear. A secret so dark the doctor preferred enduring billions of years of torture than to reveal it.
... and then it turns out it was just all an excuse to have Clara and Me/Ashildir explore the universe and have a happy ending.. We didn't even get an explanation about "The hybrid".
Even as someone that liked Clara, I found that super annoying and disappointing.
I think that everyone was very hyped about Gallifrey, and finally seeing the time lord featured in an episode post-time lock/Time War. Yet, somehow, Moffat has convinced it should be all about Clara for some reason. But, at that point, even people that liked Clara had already accepted she was dead so to suddenly make it all about her was just bad.
Moffat had serious issues letting things go.
