Finished watching the special and dear god they really had to blast full volume with bass boosted that Time lords are not binary, thank god it was just a couple of minutes

Not all is bad tho, seeing Tennant running throught the new TARDIS was awesome, but i dont know why they choose to pick Smith TARDIS and make it like is a Star trek ship, at least the tradition of the TARDIS having a seizure close to a regeneration was uphold (when he appeared in the Childs in need special his TARDIS was still the one of Whittaker, it changed while he was on the Meep thing)

AND and it was still better than what we've got since. Capaldi was a great doctor screwed over by a show runner's weariness, overreach, and the coming troon storm. Say what you will about some episodes of Davis and Moffat (and we can), but anything after ' Twice Upon a Time' just isn't worth talking about at this point.
I feel really bad for Capaldi. Dude was one of the best actors to ever get the role and was a genuine fan of doctor who since he was a child which is reflected in his amazing performance but was saddled with some of the absolute worst scripts in the show's entire history and his third series with the black dyke is unwatchable.

Just imagine, you're a doctor who fan since childhood, you manage to get a role as a guest star, already huge if you love the show, you perform so well that 5 years and 2 doctors later the showrunners ring you up and ask you if you want to play the doctor himself, and then they saddle you with the black lesbian and have you talk about the moon increasing in mass and how antipsychotics are bad. Genuinely sad.

But at bare minimum at least we have heaven sent to remember him by, proof that the man is talented enough to carry episodes (and arguably his entire series) all by himself.

If any doctor deserves a second chance its him, by far.
God, I wish Tennant had just stayed away. You know it will be bad, just fucking why?
You know why.

It's here.
To paraphrase Ned Flanders: Dear Lord, that's the loudest "The message" I've ever heard!

If my kid spoke to a dear old friend of mine the way tRose did to The Doctor I would smack them in the back of the head so hard they wouldn't be seeing stars, they'd be seeing whole galaxies.

Capaldi was a great Doctor. I liked having a Doctor who was kind of a dick to adults but still good with kids cause I like it when The Doctor is good with kids. The highlight of his run for me was him constantly shitting on Clara. If only the scripts were as good as he was...

So I watched up until the 12th doctor. Is there anything I need to watch with the female doctor? Or can I completely skip her entire run? Just seems like everyone I talk to either says she's boring or is so woke they say but like she's a strong smart woman watch anyway.

The version of Day of the Daleks on BBC iPlayer is a 2011 'special edition' with added (shit) cgi, revoiced Daleks and other tweaks/additions. No sign of the original, for reasons unknown.

There's Fugitive of the Judoon in Season 12. There might be maybe one or two others, but that's the main one I always hear praise for.

Been posted before, but Christopher Ecclestone, a very well respected actor who played Doctor Who when it was first revived, stated he would never work with RTD again.

He's generally known as highly professional and has worked on some fairly disturbing films with Danny Boyle among others, so it's not likely the subject matter disturbed him. It was also a high paying job, so to quit after one season indicates he was probably absolutely disgusted by RTD's degeneracy, even then before it had fully flowered and his pozzed nature ran rampant.

Torchwood Miracle Day, the last Who related thong RTD did ended with a child rapist saving everyone by blowong himself while smiling and laughing that he would get to chase little girls in the afterlife.
You could elaborate, what's the context for this? Is he an implied child rapist or is it just an implication?

That character was basically a main cast member with his own arc that was all about being an apolegetic pedo because somehow his survival at the start of the show gained him celebrity status. He starts showing remorse, shit happens, it ends in the "sacrifice" where he decides he really is evil, IIRC he said specifically that he wanted follow his child victims into Hell.

Why tease a redemption arc for someone like that? I don't know how anyone could write such a thing without one hand around their cock, that is just way too much investment into making a fictional pedo when you could literally write anything else.

Nothing after Capaldi leaves is even worth acknowledging.

lmao are you serious or are you just saying this to fuck with him?

Fugitive of the Judoon is the one where they reveal the doctor was a fat black sheboon all along before even William Hartnell, THAT'S the one who you think merits watching?
