There were parts that definitely twigged my "DO YOU GET IT" sense, but they at least tied into the episode rather than detracted from it like with the first special. If the Toymaker was real, I could absolutely see him being of those guys on twitter trying to cancel as many people as possible. It's all just fun and games to him.

Bi regeneartion is going to open a whole can of worms, kinda imagining missy split regenerating somehow causing the spy master stuff.

The Doctor getting all pissy as fuck when he was going on that rant about how shit people was out of left field. It was tied to the theme of the episode sure but was ham-fisted into the dialogue like it was an after thought.

Oh fuck. Remember how they established the Doctor was the alien from which the time Lords discovered regeneration?

What if they run with that into ALL time Lords are split off from those regeneration experiments? Literally the doctor is the entire race.

Admittedly, it is kind of hard to be true to a legacy character who was only seen once in the original series, and that 75% of the episodes he appeared in are missing.

I've only seen clips from the "The Giggle" (I'm not fucking giving money to The Rat), but from what I've seen NPH was definitely entertaining and having a great time with the role. That said, while Michael Gough's original Toymaker was playful and childish, it was a bit of more, I guess for lack of a better term "laid back" kind which also allowed the inherent menace of the Toymaker to come through. This Toymaker is bit more like The Joker or some other hyperactive comic book supervillain.

As for the special, I could barely stop vomiting while watching RTD's fetish of having a gay black man in his underpants in the Tardis.

As far as I'm concerned, Nigger is not the doctor, he's a conjuration created by the Toymaker and we still haven't seen the true successor to Capaldi.

That wasn't as horrible as I feared, but I have no desire to watch the new faggot Doctor mince around any further, so I'm checking out for now. I might watch a Tennant spinoff as long as the tranny isn't in it. Or the UNIT cripple they keep shoehorning in.

NPH was less shit than I was expecting though, and I did like the repeated "well that's alright then!" digs at the writers' incompetence in the post-RTD years. It's such a shame the show is pozzed to this extreme, if they tard-wrangled RTD appropriately they could probably piece together a good show.

The Doctor isn't just the first Time Lord and the last of the time Lords, he's also ALL the Time Lords. When The Master killed them all they actually jumped inside The Doctor like a clown car. His final (first) incarnation regenerates into a baby who falls out of a time rift, and then all the Time Lords biregenerate out of The Doctor by killing him/her/it over and over again, creating an ontological paradox for the entire Time Lord species while also reaffirming just how super special the Doctor is.

is my main reaction to that episode. I have A massive and purely autistic love for Tennant and series 1/4 but can’t help but feel like this is really, really flogging a dead horse. Let the man go! For a show built on change it’s not had much of it since Tennant‘s first tenure.

I want to like Ncuti but I thought he was really… camp? in this episode. Didn’t scream Doctor to me. Couldn’t take to him. Hope he does better in the Xmas special, which I will watch because I am autistic a glutton for cruelly drawn out punishments
