yeah there is the quote, RTD is off the rails
Are they going to kill off David Tennent's doctor in the Christmas special? or are they going to focus on the black doctor and only trot out Tennent when they need to drum up ratings?
Nah, they will keep the time frame ambiguious so that Disney gets their "clean break" they wanted AND they can have an emergency "break in case of raitings bump needed".

We aren't going to see Tennant until they do a spin-off with him or 15's ratings are so bad they have to pull an audible and kill him off and presumably bring in Black Guardian (he who waits?) to do a whole slew of retconning to explain him away and go back to a Capaldi-era status quo and re-kill Tennant to get a proper 15th Doctor.

That said, I'm kind of shocked they didn't have Mel go off with 15 as the token old school companion to ease viewers into having a black Doctor PLUS resolve the longstanding issue of us never seeing how Mel became a companion (as the third special hinted at it along with the reveal that Mel has no living family, by arranging some sort of gimmicky episode with Colin Baker to finally show how she became a companion.

Oh fuck. Remember how they established the Doctor was the alien from which the time Lords discovered regeneration?

What if they run with that into ALL time Lords are split off from those regeneration experiments? Literally the doctor is the entire race.

Second on agree that timelords are a race & retcon regeneration. Keep splitting off and regenerating.

The MCU went down the multiverse toilet, which is why they are consistently losing money: Nobody wants that shit. Are the BBC totally fucking retarded?

Yes, of course that's a rhetorical question.
MCU comparison is apt, but this goes beyond "the multiverse" crap. What it means is that we're essentially getting the Marvelization of Doctor Who now.

Here's a very indepth video that's been shared in a few other threads discussing the phenomenon:

I guess we should've expected this when it was revealed that Disney threw a bunch of money at Who and got the exclusive international rights on Disney+. Still doesn't make it any less horrifying.

Honestly, ngl, kinda liked the giggle, it was camp but fun camp.
still prefer DotD compared to the 60th overall bc it was a tighter story (even putting fanwank aside) but the timey-whimmy bullshit at the end was pretty fucking good and reminded me of shit moffet pulled since It kinda implies that 14 will regenerate into 15 back to that point after he unfucks himself mentally
tho it does feel like an excuse for Tennant to stay around while RTD gets to keep playing with his old toys to branch out the "Whoniverse" but with shit like Mel showing up in the Christmas special IDK if they are giving Disney as clean of a break as they wanted

Either way I have had more fun with these specials (intentional or not) than I have had ever since Capaldi left, I will not buy any of the streaming shit but Russell has my attention as long as he is off his meds like this
also really liking gatwa so far, but I have to agree with other posters that he feels like one way or another, he will probably be the modern McCoy, even if the show doesn't get canned I think he will leave early, just a feeling in my bones
tho the new Sonic fucking sucks, why is it just a roku remote?
Still better than 13's

>puts their regeneration energy on their fucking crotches
What did RTD mean by this?

Wait, that image of the two of them touching palms with a flash of light by their crotches is real? RTD had a Black guy appear out of David Tennant's cock? And that's supposed to get me to watch Fat Colin Baker Adventures for $17 a month on Disney? I eventually caught up on Jodie just to keep current, but I can't with this shit.

I thought Capaldi's last season was great which I know is an unpopular opinion. Inside Man was strangely funny for what it was. I guess I was just more of a Steven Moffatt fan than a New Who fan once you got past the nostalgia. The RTD-era stories written by him were generally the least embarrassing ones too. JNT and RTD made the worst of the show's run, I much prefer heterosexual Doctor Who. Terrance Dicks and Phillip Hinchcliffe trying to scare the shit out of little kids rather than shitdicks filling little kids.

My favorite JNT pedo story was when some kid who got invited to the production office tried to fight off JNT's boyfriend's sexual abuse with a copy of the script for Timelash he found on the desk he was hiding under. That and the Jim'll Fix It crossover are peak BBC.

I'm sure we'll soon be getting the all black timeline where every human on earth and every human-looking alien in the universe are all 100% dark skinned with not a single pale devil to be found.

It'll all be a wakandian paradise of course.

Just finished watching the new episode and overall I don't really have anything negative to say other than the Toymaker was a little too silly at times but Neil Patrick Harris does a great job in my opinion and also the Bi-generation thing is a little confusing is it something rare that happens to timelords or was it an effect of the Toymaker.
But the episode was pretty good and I have to admit I am looking forward to Ncuti's season
8.5/10

I do like the implication that the reason the doctors past is so fucked up is because the toymaker decided to make legos with it. man is up there with reverse flash tier pettiness

Question.

If there's two doctors, are they going to be doing A-B testing with episodes ratings to see which one is more popular and then kill the other? (Bigenerations don't get regenerations/Bigenerations get all the regenerations)
No. The gay black dude is the doctor. Outside of Big Finish it doesn't matter.
Clothes have regenerated before in Doctor Who, just not in the modern era. I think it was Pertwee to Baker, but don't quote me on that.
Hartnell into Troughton. But Baker into Davison did end up with different shoes.
I've personally held that Jodi Whittaker's 13th Doctor was the revival-era's version of Colin Baker's 6th Doctor run -
No. Capaldi was the Colin Baker. Jodi was just a piece of shit.
The only real time I can't think of anyone in the classic series regenerating clothes was Romana
It was off camera. We've no idea if she changed clothes. And the whole sequence was played as a joke in the most schlocky season of Doctor Who ever.
Capaldi-era status quo
No. The Capaldi era was a mistake and nearly killed the show. No one but trans leaning autists who don't shower liked him.

Yeah, I too thought NPH was a little too over the top at times from what I've seen, but there also seems to be moments where he was very clearly channeling Michael Gough's original performance, and I thought that was awesome.

And speaking of the original Toymaker, whadda you know! Just in time for the 60th special featuring his return, the BBC announces the upcoming release of an animated reconstruction of the lost Toymaker episodes!
...and holy fucking shit does it look like hot garbage!

https://twitter.com/i/status/1733592152884617572 TL;DR: they canonized the toymaker taking other cultures or some shit intentionally
Oh for fucks sake.

Look, here's how I guarantee that the original Toymaker wound up in a fucking Fu Manchu costume:

"Okay, so we've got the script and sets done, now what about costumes? I'd had some ideas here about what this Toymaker fellow should look like...wait, what do you mean we don't have anything left in the bloody budget for the Toymaker costume? How the bloody fuck did that happen? Ah, bugger, whatever, just go grab one of those costumes we used for the Marco Polo episodes! It's not like anyone's going to care!"

Also, the "Toymaker is using foreign accents to be racist?" I didn't know white people could be racist against other white people, Russell.

It's quite telling when the fucking YouTube comments section come up with a better explanation for NPH constantly switching through various accents than the showrunners do:
