It's still insane to me how this show is surviving almost solely off the pre-2012 episodes and the classic series merch in terms of positive public perception. A show that was infamously actively intentionally sabotaged by the fucking network back during the classic series now will never die because they decided to turn it into yet another skinsuit for shallow virtue signaling by media people. "We can't have Davros as a burnt guy on life support anymore because that's discriminatory stereotype about crippled people being evil!" The showrunner claims, while the one store on earth that still carries non funko pop doctor who merch has reissues of a decade old Davros cripple figure. Have their cake and eat it too as they say.
I actually might try getting the Davros figure reissue pack if I can find it for a sane price because it's the variant of Davros I missed out on back in the day.


Speaking of figurine shit, I found a secondhand seller with justifiable price and shipping a while back after like year or so of looking at $90+$30 shipping scalper listings so I finally have the reissue/improved tweak version of the Remembrance Supreme Dalek figure. Ended up costing $40 for the 2 pack it came in. Technically still not accurate to the design from the episode due to it being a retool of the classic Dalek figure used for all classic Daleks but I'm glad to finally have a figure of this bastard.
Think I already said something similar about this before about this story but it was always kinda neat to me how the "renegade" Daleks turned out to be the normal ones and the "imperials" were a rogue faction of augmented ones under Davros as a kind of "false emperor." Technically doesn't have to be spoiled since everyone probably knows the plot and the color schemes of the ones loyal to Davros in the prior story , the ones made from mutated human colonists with incurable diseases who were supposed to be in cryo-stasis are the same, but still. Shit's great.

So wait, if the rumor about replacing the tranny after 1 season was true, does that mean the rumor about the jogger leaving after season 2 is also going to be true?

He apparently didn't cotton to the degeneracy. My guess is Tennant was an active and enthusiastic participant in it.

The Eighth Doctor novels do some neat things with that. And kind of a confusing retcon about the conclusion of this story where apparently it wasn't Skaro that Davros destroyed but some other planet?

Allegedly they had some issues filming around his schedule between Barbie and wanting to do theatre. It seems like he doesn't want to be nailed down to one series for too long. Plus all the responsibility that comes with it, the actor playing the Doctor is expected to do a lot of press and promotional stuff on top of everything that comes with being the lead of the show.
 
I know it's premature to discuss casting for the 16th Doctor, but it's hard to imagine they'd be okay with an actor who's any less 'diverse' than the one they've already got. It would have to be another woman, that's for sure. Because two male Doctors in a row (three if you count Tennant) would make it look like they've given up on female Doctors after trying it once with Whittaker.

The Beeb probably don't want another white woman because it wouldn't look good for their race quota if two or more white female Doctors got multiple seasons while the female Doctor of colouor got a trio of increasingly minor guest appearances. So if Sixteen isn't a woman of colouuuur, she would need to be Diverse™ in some other way...

The BBC has worked themselves into a bit of a corner here. Anything that is any less diverse than the black will be viewed as a downgrade by the usual suspects (including Davies). But since black fags are already high on the intersectional totem pole, there aren't many options that are just the same, if not more, on the oppression scale.

So I'm calling it now: Sixteen will be the first troon Doctor. And if he is, there is a non-zero chance that Abigail Thorn will get the role.

There is, however, a much better chance that he'll just be offered the role, or asked to audition. He ticks the two main requirements of being 1) an actor and 2) Bri'ish. He's not well-known, but then again, he doesn't need to be. And his role in Acolyte gives him at least some track record. But most importantly, his transness makes him even more gay than Nigcutie.

If Thorn is offered the role now, he will most likely turn it down, as the time commitment would mean taking at least a year away from PhilosophyTube. He doesn't seem like he'd be interested in Who for fanboy reasons either. The only things that could possibly change his mind are 1) if the Youtube channel tanks or 2) if the Beeb say he only has to do it for one season. If (when?) he turns down the role, he will probably be a good boy and not talk about it publicly.

They also already did the trannyshit with retconning stuff so the doctor and other timelords could regenerate as female and every fucking timelord that regenerated into a female called it an "upgrade"or "back to normal".

It’s why Donna’s child made no sense. Because a Trans person can have their body corrected.

That's a bit different from transitioning though, they completely change their entire DNA structure. That dialogue was peak Moffat so I choose to take it with a grain of salt.

"Asian" in the british sense of either a paki or a street shitter. Tranny gives you the most DEI points right now, but if there's another terrorist attack in Britain over the next year, you can guarantee they're going to make a mud the next doctor.
