One thing I thought was interesting was Joy's angry rant about not being able to see her mother in the hospital because of Covid. While I'm sure that it was aimed at Boris Johnson and the Tories that did the exact thing she's condemning them for, its a thing that a LOT of politicans from all over the political spectrum did (like Nancy Pelosi getting her hair appointment or Obama hosting big parties during lockdown). It's one of the only times I've seen something from media calling that out.

The thing that was funny is that essentially COVID is something everyone's decided to memoryhole, but youre allowed to take jabs only if the other side did something you hate. Biden did the same thing to Trump in the debates, saying he had lockdowns and liberals never wouldve done that. It's just an example of libs who think you shouldve been jailed for wearing a mask now being the people to say "lockdowns were bad, m'kay"

Is this how Doctor Who fans felt in the 80s? When their favorite show was being run into the ground by some retarded faggot who hated all that was moral and good?
No, even that chickenhawk faggot pederast JNT was better, and the show didn't really decline until after Peter Davison's run. Colin Baker (no relation) was the worst Doctor before the current zombie status of the franchise. It's sort of unfair to Colin because it wasn't really his fault, JNT was just a dying alcoholic chomo at that point (even at the time people would warn each other that he would try to bum you at cons), put him in a ridiculous clownsuit, and basically killed the series.

A couple of pictures of what Doc No 6 could have worn as his signature look:

I prefer the black version I've seen floating around.

Something like the one on the right would have been a nice contrast to what 4 and especially 5 wore. But both are preferable to the rainbow.
I like the black one. Never seen it before. Makes him look like a Byronic nobleman, with some Teddy Boy-ness in there, but also, with shades of a secret agent.

What they actually used (at JNT's insistence) was absolute shit, though. Just having to look at that thing ruined the show.

Tbh I wasn't a huge fan of the goofy question marks on Davison's suit either, but it wasn't a show-ruiner.

See, I like C Baker more than Davison, and I thought Doc No 5's outfit was a bit... bland, but yeah, I think we're in the majority who couldn't stand Colin Technicolour Dream Coat.

My favourite classic series Doctor, though, aside from Pertwee, is McCoy. His question mark jumper (sweater, if some of you prefer) is a bit naff if you look at it for too long. He's another fantastic Doctor with a "meh" sense of dress.

I ended up enjoying this video a lot.

Like... I really don't like the repeated fan desire to make The Doctor one of the 3 founding members of Time Lord society (too obvious for one thing - he's more fun as a cosmic hobo) but him being the pivotal figure of the Time War? THAT is befitting him. It's especially befitting for the second Doctor (my fave).

Colin baker was still pretty fucking cool, it was just sometimes he got shit writing and the bizzare suit. That and his intro being him deciding to choke out his companion cause he thinks she's a skinwalker for a bit but that becomes just a funny if you weren't like one of the "oh the doctor never does violence!!!" people.

Kinda wish he wore the blue cape thing more though that looked cool with his schizo ass getup. Back before the series got killed in terms of US merch aside from funko pops and shit I got a figure of colin baker with that thing on. I can't find a full body photo of the suit with the cape on image search and I can't find a good (not overexposed/too heavy lighting) photo of the figure. Still you probably know what I'm talking about.

The timeless child shit was so much worse of a retcon than the planned shit from the classic series of him being a founding member of the society that retired via basically killing himself via some esoteric shit that causes him to not fully die. Still a nonsense one but like it'd have more interesting writing potential because he's still just "some guy with a time machine from advanced human alien civilization" at the end of the day there, just one that did more shit offscreen you never saw.

Not even going to watch this bullshit. I hope some shitskin stabs Ncuti in the street one of these days. Istg getting fucked in the ass does something to your brain because RTD wasn't like this before gay marriage was legalized.
RTD was always pozzed. He was just made to hide his power level during his first run because he knew that if he fucked up, the franchise was dead.

I don't like this narrative. There's a difference between being gay type faggot and being a fake ass faggot nigger parroting puppet underling of the BBC gangster computer god. Literally compare his statements about davros years ago when he first brought him back to the recent one and it's blatantly clear the older one was a genuine statement while the new one was him just doing the standard current year eternal shittery infecting media globally now.

Well, there is/was that alternative origin story they hinted at when the 7th Doctor was around, that is part of what you're referring to: The Other, who regenerated multiple times, and eventually went into one of those Loom thingamajigs, which reverted him back to infancy, and grew up as the "Original" Doctor.

The Timeless Child sort of hinted that they did something inspired by that: the Doctor/Fugitive being in an incarnation that was "William Hartnell/David Bradley", who then became a baby. I really like that spin, I actually do, but I could do without the fobwatch shite.

How are the ratings so far? I know a recent episode became the lowest viewed but did the special do well? (Edit: lmao i was checking the ratings on wikipedia, it's amazing how we saw Capaldi's second and third seasons as ratings doldrums and then Whittaker, but Gatwa is a race to the bottom. I dont think "people dont watch TV anymore" is an excuse when the four specials had consistent ratings in the 6-7 mil range and now theyve crated to below Whittaker, below Capaldi levels. Please BBC please try to can the show again! Or give us a Colin Baker type regeneration with Hugh Grant in blackface before become Doc 16)
I'd prefer Fugitive becoming between 2 and 3, though I suppose that idea's dead now that they've done the War Games regeneration.
I'd prefer "not at all". to me my problem with all these additions is to the average fan if done well these provide new toys and new lore to sperg over, but to the average viewer it was very easy to compartmentalize "the first actor is the first doctor" and stuff like that which is now soiled entirely. I loved The War Doctor and John Hurt was amazing in the role, it made too much sense and gave stakes to Matt's final special and essentially handed the writers the opportunity to not only give The Doctor infinite lives but also to bridge the gap and make fun of the modern series via the "old" Doctor. But that opened the gate to introducing a whole bunch of Doctors who devalue the idea of there being a new Doctor

Can you really push Gatwa as a special new thing if you established that the Doctor has been a black woman seventeen times in the "lore"? Apparently you can, because BBC, but you shouldnt be able to
