I'm glad Ihave the first episodes on DVD from before the show got pozzed so if the discs still work I can watch the doctor attempt to bash a mans head in with a rock in cold blood.

I may or may not have 287GB of the first 26 'seasons' I procured from one of the usual places. It includes some of the reconstructions from set photos and audio of the lost episodes. Maybe I should continue watching those one of these days.

The Doctor was weirdly violent and psycho when he wanted to be. I loved that about him. I think my favourite Doctor moment was 4 when some cultists were kidnapping Sarah Jane or Tegan (or whichever lady companion about to get molested like usual) and he gave the dark robed ninjas lifting her body up this absolutely dead stare and said something like "please don't do that" but his tone was more "I'm gonna kill you" deadpan and sure enough they attacked him and began using his Who judo on them. And this was jolly eccentric Four too. That's actually kinda consistent with Two to Twelve when the nice guy mask comes off the Doctor doesn't fuck around anymore.

So straight shooting here but with talk of NuWho and Classic Who I'm wondering which Doctors would think of Fourteen. Obviously we know Ten likes Fourteen. I guess Thirteen would too. Now for the other Doctors: One probably not but he'd be grumpy old man respectful, Two sure I guess he never really hated anyone, Three would be cordial but would get slightly annoyed at 14's antics, Four would just be eccentric towards him not really any way, Five would be brooding and although quiet you could tell he'd hate having a gay black man on the Tardis, Six would absolutely hate 14 might tell him to fuck off, Seven would like most Doctors would be quiet and polite but a bit aloof and uneasy, Eight yeah would probably be a bit wary of 14, Nine at first chummy with 14 but then a bit sparky towards him when his antics got too much, Ten we know would suck him off since 14 a gay man, Eleven a lot like Nine where he'd be chummy at first but then super sarcastic eventually when the annoyance set in, Twelve yeah like One would be grumpy but might begrudgingly accept 14 or become more snarky and Thirteen yeah like Ten would pander to 14 too much. So honestly I guess most Doctors would at first be nice to 14 but after he pranced around too much they'd start to get visibly annoyed. Also after Fourteen cried for like the twentieth time all of them except 10 and 13 would tell him to straighten up buttercup eventually.

Heh I always find it funny the uglier the alien the more likely the Doctor will kill it horribly like blow it up or disintegrate it.

Also the occas!onal casual neck snap murder. Not even reserved for al!ens.
But seriously his hatred for cyborg robots is something else. You know the Doctor hopes he can run into Daleks and Cybermen when he wakes up in the morning so he can gleefully kill them again.

Becomes even funnier when you consider the first time they met him they werent even fucking hostile really, and the entire conflict ended up happening because he intentionally fucked up the tardis to try and explore what he thought was a cool alien planet before nearly dying of radiation sickness. Like the daleks were always neurotic little mutants in funny mobility mechas from the start but they've infamously been progressively flanderized on and off as the series has gone on, nuwho the last few years adding nonsense like "ah yeah when they try to say i love you it says exterminate and also they can like possess people or some shit I dunno". Classic who at least had a kind of reason for them becoming more screechy and neurotic overtime due to timeline fuckery and constant wars and shit like the doctor just happening to show up every fucking time they were up to some shit. Their fucking laser has a stun setting they literally only use in their intro episode.
EDIT: couldn't find the caveman rock scene, but found a clip i can no longer find by itself for fucking YEARS where Hartnell just starts saying a boatload of swears and they just keep it in uncensored in a very "fuck you luigi" kind of way.
Guy audibly mumbles "WELL FUCK OFF THEN" through his teeth before the scene cuts. That's not even counting all the prior shits and fucks lmao.

Anyone else disappointed how new content on the Doctor Who Classic YT channel has dried up?

They were posting omnibus versions of classic Who serials every day when it launched... then after a couple of weeks they started to drop off to only five per week, then four, then two, now all we are getting is marathon block uploads of the few full seasons that managed to make it to the channel already (Seasons 7, 9, 17, and this weekend 22).

Also, anyone got a good place to watch the reconstructions of the lost First/Second Doctor serials?

Nctui is 15, Tennant is 14.

I love how Susan in the background is barely unable not to bust out laughing.

RTD switched from primarily focusing on terves to foaming about Trump as if he were some anti faggot crusader

This faggot really tried to cite Tolkien :story:

oh is it RTD? What are the views of the person whose work you are citing? Specifically, what were his views on immigration, industrialization, state-run media and trannies?
Posted it before, but still one of my favorite Capaldi moments:

"Check my kill count."
"You are unarmed, right?"
"Always"
Moffat can write clever people well in Who, but can't in Sherlock. That's unironically a really good line because it immediately bluffs the opponent with one word

Having watched some of Moffat's stuff and videos talking about him, it really does seem like he's great in narrow short forms, but really can't handle anything very long. Give him a single episode (or even a comedy short) and it is pure gold.

Ask him to stretch a story out over a season or multiple episodes? It quickly falls apart.

He kind of reminds me of the LLMs in that regard.

I think in a macro scale Moffat's stuff was good, but week to week a lot of the overarching storylines could overlap and be confusing. "The Silence" was something made up for all of Smith's run but there were the aliens from the 60s episode that were called Silent, the renegade faction, and then the Papal Mainframe faction that fought alongside the Doctor on Trenzalore which was just confusing. And the entire resolution to the plot with River's origins and Amy's infant being kidnapped was terrible, I think it's the worst thing he did because the answer is that they grew up with their own daughter which is the resolution to the plot? So unsatisfying. (It didn't help that the broadcast order for the episodes sucked, you have this giant story episode and the episode after is just a generic monster of the week episode that makes no mention of Demon's Run because it was meant to be aired before.)

But the broader strokes were excellent. Dealing with faults in the Doctor's character, painting his heroism in different lights so you see the character differently, all the callbacks to classic Who. The latter is probably the weakest aspect of the current run, Chibs and RTD2 pretty much ignore the rest of the series and exist in their own self contained bubble and care very little about their stories impacting other parts of the canon. It was kind of a gut punch to get so invested in the series as a whole because Moffat did such a wonderful job bringing back elements of classic just for Chibs to shit over the entire series canon, and RTD doesn't care as long as he gets to make everything woke and gay. It just makes their runs feel like infinitely smaller shows, while the Moffat era feels like it's part of something larger. RTD's first run has that feeling to a lesser extent because of the Time War, but it was really Moffat that began to weave the classic series into the modern era. It's very rewarding to go back and watch the episode they're referencing, what performance inspired Smith/Capaldi or what have you and see it reflected in the new stuff.

Moffat was mainly following up and building off what RTD was already doing with that, which makes RTD coming back and just being a bootleg, somehow even worse in some cases chibnall instead of what people were hoping for hurt even more. I have a feeling even if moffat came back it'd be a repeat of that given the last season before jodie had both moffat and chibnalls input, which is really unfortunate. Never gonna forgive them having the guy playing the first doctor give out of context quotes and then treated like some sort of racist sexist creeper, really kinda pissed me off especially when like just a little prior to that they had that same actor play a william hartnell in the thing hyping up the original doctor who run's production process as something really cool and the first doctor as a col guy. I mean I already knew he was cool because I watched the shit on dvd when i got into classic dr. who but like fuck man, that shit felt wrong on many levels.

Said it before but I REALLY don't like how the people defending the shit go "oh no you're just stupid and afraidof change chud see this was always the case the timeless child is great because it explains the bad mistakes like the morbius doctors and the cancelled cartmel masterplan!" It just really doesn't feel right man both those ideas were a lot more interesting as open ended things rather than this "ah yes the doctor was actually UNKNOWN ALIEN BLACK CHILD TECTAYUN STOLE REGENERATION FROM AND THEN THEY GOT ASSIGNED TO THIS SECRET TIMELORD "DIVISION" THAT WAS JUST A TIME COP DESPITE THE TIMELORDS EXPLICITLY BEING AGAINST TIME GETTING FUCKED WITH INSTEAD OF JUST OBSERVED"

The reason the cartmel masterplan could have still "worked" without breaking everything is the doctor was still at the end of it if that went through "just some dude with a time machine but just somewhat mildly more important to the formation of his own society" not "basically unkillable to no even mild stakes level god who isn't even a timelord but some other unnamed race just so we can undo the first doctor being an old white grandpa who we made an episode shitting on for being mean and bad". I already said this but I don't think I specified the reason I'm certain why the timeless child shit even exists in the first place.

RTD having five episodes in an eight episode series means it's probably gonna be more big mystery bullshit
