It's mentioned in one episode where the Doctor says something like he's not a Time Lord and doesn't know who he is. And then later the Toymaker says something like "I turned your past into a jigsaw puzzle" - RTD talked about wanting to make the Doctor's backstory ambiguous again, so you can pick or choose whatever answer you like about the Doctor's past. As long as he's not William Hartnell or a Time Lord because he has to protect Chibnall's feelings so we'll never retcon Timeless Child or the chuds would win.
which is weird because he IS a time lord, even if he's not a gallifreyan anymore. time lord is just a title, it's a sign of status in their culture. there are human time lords in the EU

In other words, once enough time has passed that nobody cares about Chibnall, this whole nonsense (which sounds to my ears like a modern, shittier version of the Cartmel Masterplan) will get retconned.

Possibly with yet another time war to explain the differences. If I were writing it I would in fact go ahead and feature those magical math guys from Logopolis, and maybe involve E-Space and the Key To Time somehow, maybe even figure out where the White Guardian and Black Guardian went.

And while I'm just fanfic writing out loud, somehow the M'kronn crystal from Marvel Comics gets involved too because Doctor Who was published by Marvel for awhile, which of course means he must also meet Godzilla...

And I would bring back Adric! EDIT: Actually no, no I wouldn't. Not because of any feelings about the character but because it would be touching a sacred moment that I don't have the right to meddle with.

I genuinely cannot fathom why RTD would double down on the Timeless Child BS unless it was just that the nignog lady was available because afaik she literally hasn't been in anything on screen since Doctor Who, but the same could be said for Whittaker and Tennant's probably needing cash for the child abuse and molestation lawsuits.

Anyway if I had a time machine, I'd go back and kill everybody involved in the production of Brain of Morbius to prevent this from ever happening. Would it save the show? No, love him or hate him, the show's fate was sealed the moment Capaldi was cast and the Doctor stopped being a conventionally attractive young man because back in the day this shit was carried by horny middle school girls. But it would prevent the show's corpse from being defiled by some retard orphan.

To be honest Capaldi being an older man was one of the few things that gave me some hope. I was tired of how the Doctor had been reduced to.... whatever the female version of a "waifu" is (husbando?)

Especially since, again going back to the classic series, most of the Doctors were not people that your average teenage girl would want to bang. I think really only Davison and McCoy could be considered that.

The Doctor and Clara's relationship became 10x more interesting as soon as he regenerated into 12. I don't mind the Doctor dabbling in romance, but it was enough with River. He doesn't need some young girlfriend prancing about.

As for the slavery thing, I think that was about US slavery since I've heard that story before, but like with most slavery related things, I think it's safe to say it was overplayed since blacks objectively had a higher standard of living during slavery than after.
I'm not surprised they conveniently left out the part of history where niggers sold other niggers into slavery.

Tennant's been outed as a pedo and he's been abusing his own kid.
sorry, can you please provide a source? I’m not exactly in disbelief, I just can’t tell whether you’re extrapolating this from his “nonbinary” son or there’s been actual, legal action taken against him and this is a well-known thing. I’ve never heard of it, and I feel like it would be huge news if it was true, so I’m curious.

There's a leak going around, take it with a grain of salt.

- Mrs Flood is a bi-regeneration of The Rani
- The next Doctor is a woman again and their actor will be someone who's been on the show before. Suranne Jones and Billie Piper are two people mentioned. The other three are the Queen's actress from Day of the Doctor, Suki from "The Long Game" and that deaf chick from this season's "The Well".
- Omega is involved in some way. Flood might be his Harbinger.

There's more, but these are the ones I've seen circulating the most.

that deaf chick
Can they really get an entire season out of flying from place to place being offended that people can't sign or don't always face her. Is the big bad alien of the series going to be awful for not having hands/arms to sign with and the moral paradox of alien disability vs being deaf.

I feel like people have just got desperate to try and create hype for a dying series so are leaking or throwing out any random junk ideas in the hope something will spark interest and up the viewer numbers. Most credible regeneration finale idea I've seen is just that it has been filmed open ended so you can't see who it is and then Disney/BBC/whoever buys the next season can pick anyone they want.

There's no way they'd go with her, it's the least believable pick on the list. Personally, I think Suranne Jones would be the best pick for the next Doctor.

He could regenerate into a prime 70s Tom Baker again and it wouldn't matter if the production is still the same. And what are we regenerating for? The show still hasn't been picked up for a third season has it?

Nctui's doing a bunch of Hollywood films so that's basically it for his tenure. Whatever happens next is someone else's problem.

Ruth Madeley? The first doctor to star in an episode showing they can't do stairs but the daleks can in a reverse of the classic scenes.

I would be shocked if that ever go back to the Fugitive Doctor/Timeless Child arc in full again. Oh, they'll allude to it. They'll dance around it. Ultimately, 14 addressed the fallout in the 2nd special and now there's no need to go back to it ever again.
Aren't they still making Fugitive Doctor stories at Big Finish? If so that'll keep her into DW canon for a long while. Also since they have made it a thing in nuWho that First Doctor was a racist it just seems weird he'd be a black woman previously?

Holy shit they canonized that bit of character assassination?

Also while I know what "Timeless Child" is, refresh my memory on what this about Doctor being a "fugitive" is? I know that back in the classic series he spent his first two incarnations being on the run from the Time Lords for stealing the TARDIS, but then they caught him and forced him to become Jon Pertwee so... what, is this double jeopardy? (Does he get a daily double?)

I think technically the Time Lords are done for good now. They didn't bring them back for 12, 13 or 15 so I guess if the series somehow survives the next couple decades maybe they'll be back? Really when you think about it the only Doctor who had a big arc with them that concluded was 10 so it's not really surprising they aren't included as much. There should be more story with them with 9 or War Doctor and with 0 (what I'm calling Fugitive Doctor) but I guess that's up to Big Finish. Oddly if the Doctor isn't Gallefreyan anymore does it really matter now anyways?

They didn't bring them back for 12
oh you sweet innocent soul.
says the one who hasn't watched Who since Capaldi left
fuck Hell Bent though. seriously, holy shit. One of the biggest TV fumbles in recent memory

edit WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S BEEN ALMOST 10 YEARS ALREADY

I don't know, in the novelization of Twice Upon A Time the narration establishes the First Doctor was just doing it to screw with 12. Either way it's really shitty writing, very shitty to fans of that era, to William Hartnell himself and everyone who worked on that era of the show.

refresh my memory on what this about Doctor being a "fugitive" is
That's the black woman incarnation they invented that predates William Hartnell, who also uses a TARDIS that turns into a blue box even though the entire reason the TARDIS is a police box is because it lands in the UK in the 60s when the First Doctor strands himself on Earth. She's pre-Hartnell so she isn't a numbered incarnation so they call her the "Fugitive" Doctor. (Even though all Doctors were Fugitives anyway?)
