Haven't watched it yet. I might see if I can find it posted somewhere, but at the moment I'm enjoying Metokur's stream.

Edit: I'm seeing some of you say it didn't go full social justard, and that's a good thing. I will definitely judge it fairly. Contrary to popular opinion, I'm not 100% already resigned to hating this, I'm just not enthused by anything I've seen or heard about it so far.

I'm not even completely opposed to the idea of a female Doctor, aside from the fact that it's been shit every time it's been tried. I am also heavily opposed to the "it was time for a female doctor" bullshit.

The whole "it was time for a female Doctor" thing seemed more like a marketing ploy by the BBC and all the feminists circle jerking solely over the fact that 13 is now a woman. There were many scenes in this episode where the Doctor could have obsessed over being a woman but thankfully the writers restrained themselves.

I hope they don't blow it.

Post it here then. Or post it there, or post it in both. No-one who posts there is gonna give a shit about a necro or double post.
Here it is. Enjoy?
It was really good. I'm glad the whole "Doctor is a woman" thing was addressed quickly without making a big deal about it.

Too bad the Watch Party segments in between were so cringe worthy. Not to mention Wil Wheaton showing up.
Holy shit Wil Wheaton was on my bingo card.

What happend at the watch party. I don't get shit like that on Iview

I didn't watch most of it but I saw snippets where people were going on about how it made them feminists and about all the social commentary. There was also an "after party" where a few people talking about "muh representation" and celebrating that there are more non white characters and that kids can now see themselves on the show. Then we had Wil Wheaton talk for a few seconds and while he didn't say anything remarkable it was cringy to see him.

It was much better than i expected but theres just something about Whittakers voice that feels really artificial to me and makes her unlikable but i cant quite put my finger on it.

I knew gender was pretty fluid to time lords so I knew that 13 wouldn't make a big deal out of it. And I know the "it's not the first time I've had to buy women's clothing" was a throwaway, but I know 3 once dressed up as a cleaning lady, and that the Doctor has a wide array of women's clothing in his wardrobe already.

All that aside, I like 13. She's energetic, but she doesn't seem like a Matt Smith, "Hey, I'm hip and random!" energetic. She just has this energy that gets you into the show. I had a headache this morning but when I saw her it went away.

Woah boy.

Stray thoughts as I watch the episode (I went back and added/removed as original thoughts I had meant more or less over the course of the episode, so this may come off as a bit disjointed):

Nobody was memorable enough that I remembered their name... I will use descriptors instead.
-The black fellow was likable enough, if a bit bland for most of the episode. They'll probably flesh him out a bit more so no big deal
- and hey, they actually did a bit in like the last 5 minutes.
-Holy shit, are black dead beat dads a thing in the UK? Seems like this guy could totally use an Uncle Phil. Do you Brits have an equivalent?
-I don't think she was meant to be, but the black grandmother was just plain obnoxious to me. She did several things that I think were meant to be "charming," but mostly I just got bad River Song flashbacks from a... WAY too old person to be doing this shit, trying to be passed off as a bit too "sexy" (she said that thing to the dude on the train and I just cringed) and she was *way* more physically capable than someone of that age (particularly a female of that age) would, or even actually could, be... Also, like River most of the time, she did this to the detriment of other men in the area who actually *would* be able to do the things she unbelievably does...
-I think I was supposed to be sad she died... With a tiny caveat which will be revealed later, I wasn't. I was actually relieved that she (presumably) won't be a part of this upcoming series.
-The "fucking white male" grandfather will almost definitely be the butt of many jokes this series, but actually really liked his "I'm too old for this shit" shtick anyway. I also like the fact that he is the (bit bland) black dude's step-grandfather and they don't really get on at all. There is some good story there.
-The Indian chick came off as entitled AF, and she actually really pissed me off. She acted like she deserved better than her meter maid job "because reasons", but the way she acted throughout this episode only proved that she really, really didn't. (investigating multiple anomalies outside of what she was originally called to investigate.. without even *once* checking in with her superiors... Even to possibly request some backup... Which actually *would* have been useful later on... And the reasoning both she and the Doctor herself used "because nobody would believe her" PARTICULARLY pisses me off... how many times have aliens *openly* attacked the world in this show's universe in the last decade alone? Why exactly would nobody believe her if she said she had reason to believe aliens were doing *something* again?)
-I've been drinking... Did I really just see some random dude throw a salad at the monster of the week and have it mean fuck all? (aside from him being killed for it) WTF?

Ok so, I was surprised at how much I *didn't* hate this Doctor. That's right, you heard me correctly, not terrible. And her "I'm the Doctor" moment was most surprisingly *almost* as badass as 11's... (And his is *STILL* one of my all time favorite Who moments, btw.) Unfortunately, she didn't stick the landing... like, at all, and she can fuck off RIGHT NOW with that "You had no right to do that" bullshit she said to the dude who kicked the alien trying to kill him (who had already proven himself to be treacherous AF) off a bridge. Also, that accent needs a LOT of work.
-The outfit is also still retarded as fuck. Also makes her look super dumb that she commented multiple times in the episode about needing pockets, and then picking an outfit that she admits herself has none.
-Why exactly did she need them to "help" her find her T.A.R.D.I.S.?" The like 3 things she asked them to do were ALL things she could have easily done herself, and she did the majority of the work herself.. They were CLEARLY just there so they could be futzed along with her.

Random Thoughts:
-I actually REALLY like the idea of a "T.A.R.D.I.S. Team" over a single (usually) female companion... and, entitled Indian bitch aside, I actually found myself really liking the ones assembled for this series.
-"Only idiots carry knives": Never change, you cucking Brits, never change.
-Villain of the week was stupid AF with the teeth and all, but it was the absolutely best kind of stupid, and I really liked it.
-I know I didn't like her at all, but I am SO GLAD that "The greatest woman I ever met" that the (currently) boring black dude alluded to in the opening ended up being his grandmother. I was actually half pissed off that it was even *implied* to be the Doctor (even though I actually guessed immediately that wouldn't be the case.)
-Why did the Doctor say her family are all dead? Gallifrey is back now, no? *Technically speaking* even if every single one of her family died in the time war (which is unlikely, but still possibly true), she could *still* go back and visit her granddaughter Susan living on Earth of the future at ANY point in time if she really wanted to... There is literally nothing canonically stopping her, and the actress is still alive and at least partially active.
-There was like... a 2 minute cut of "Coming soon" footage at the end of the torrent I downloaded. (Wasn't kidding, I'm not giving BBC another cent. Even if this show *isn't* shit anymore.) of seemingly mostly butch lesbians and brown people (with like 2 token white guys, including Alan Cumming)... With zero context given. Alrighy then.

tl;dr
I got five of our britfag pounds on @UnKillFill hating it.
I'm truly sorry, I do believe that you owe *someone* (not me, I didn't take that bet) 5 pieces of your britfag funny money.

she can fuck off RIGHT NOW with that "You had no right to do that" bullshit she said to the dude who kicked the alien trying to kill him
That was stupid, but it was a problem during Tennant’s run too. Someone intercut his idiotic “I never would” speech from “The Doctor’s Daughter” with clips of the myriad times the Doctor’s used weapons and it’s fucking hilarious.
The outfit is also still exceptional as fuck.
Yeah, I’m not sold on it either. Weirdly, Capaldi’s old clothes actually suited her quite well.

I officially suck at gambling.

It was pretty ok; I actually enjoyed it. Extremely glad that they didn't go full "grrl power" SJW. So far, it's just the Doctor, who happens to be a woman, doing Doctor things, which I hope continues.

I kind have would have preferred the grandma as a companion, at least compared to the three we got, but that's just based on one episode.

Sadly it seems there was a clash for filming as Sharon D Clarke is in the upcoming Informant in which she is in every episode. Otherwise we might have enjoyed her as a fourth companion.

It seems the UK did it's blurb in stuff like radio and as Dr who itself has passed by nicely. The watch party shit is all on you Yanks as is the self masterbatury politics.

After the stupidity of the last moffat series the new lead writer Chris Chibnall has demanded races and stuff be shoved back in it's box and only work "in actual context" this actually let's them do episodes like the upcoming civil rights episode with Vinette Robinson ( a Shakespearian trained actress) who will portray Rosa Parks. I've already mentioned the excellent Art Malik and Mark Addy but Susan Lynch is in the next episode as well who is another well trained actress with some excellent British film and TV under her belt.

Basically this series has raided every decent name on British theatre and TV who seemed to be available. Chibnall earned a lot of brownie points and kudos from Broadchurch.

Another thing to note is the Sherlock set designer, Arwyl Wyn Jones who rammed 221b Baker Street full of nods and notes to nearly every case not portrayed has apparently been utterly unleashed on the redesign of the Tardis with various nods on the outside already seen it will be interesting to see what he's done to the interior too.

This has probably already been said, but I'm having a hard time getting round to watching the new one.
Not because I object to a female doctor, but because I feel like just by watching it, I'll get dragged into the swirling storm of autism surrounding Whittaker's casting. Especially now I'm sharing a house with my brother who un-ironically calls himself red-pilled.

I even went to the trouble of catching up on the entire Matt Smith era and most of the Capaldi era in preparation, but now, I'm scared of what I might get dragged into.

It's not hard to stay out of the autism, just don't talk to anyone about watching it. What they don't know can't hurt you

If you want to avoid Who-related autism, this might not be the best place to post. Just sayin.

I checked it out and despite the FEMALE DOCTOR SO STUNNING AND BRAVE this season feels a lot more dialed down in comparison to the RTD and Moffat eras, where it seemed like the motto was "more, more, MORE!" It was almost like watching old-school DOCTOR WHO in tone, it almost felt like an adventure for normal people as opposed to something written to appeal to hardcore Whovians who think repeating phrases like "timey wimey ball" is always hilarious and obsess over whether the "canon" justifies their "ships" and the #woke bluehair brigades.

Avoid all Doctor Who communities (especially places like Gallifrey Base and Tumblr) and social media and you should be fine.

(Speaking of GB after all the horror stories I've heard about the place is it potentially thread worthy?)
