Once upon a time, my boyfriend and my best friend both bothered me endlessly to watch it (at least, starting with Nine). I got as far as all of Nine and a few episodes into Martha. Then my boyfriend and I had a terrible breakup and not long after my best friend decided she didn't want to be my friend anymore. Hurt by both I stopped watching it.
I enjoyed what I watched though, I just really can't bring myself to watch any more at this point because a) my other friends who watch Doctor Who but were less insistent about it have all moved out of that phase (instead, all of them have bothered me to watch Steven Universe instead) and b) it just leaves a little bit of a bitter taste in my mouth since my best friend was not only a fan, she was a Superwholock fan, and so was my second college roommate, so now I'm like "no, please no, keep it away from me" and just burnt out on it. (Forever.)
I do have a friend who is obsessed with the show still, except she likes all Doctor Who (especially the made-for-TV movie with Paul McGann, she got him and Eric Roberts to sign her copy of the DVD!) and two summers ago she'd hold parties with all her friends where we'd watch through a Classic Doctor serial and also play Super Smash Brothers. Those were always fun. Didn't watch enough of any one Doctor to get a favorite, though. I did watch enough of Nine and Ten to know that I'm actually one of the few who enjoys Nine over Ten and Matt Smith's chin looks weird so I don't understand the attraction to him, I think he's overrated. Like Bandersnatch Cookiedough. But let me save the Sherlock rambling for another thread. I've already stated enough useless facts about my experience with Doctor Who though.
I do own two MLP/Doctor Who t-shirts though because I am autism incarnate
