Decided to bite the bullet and watch Season 10 onwards. Season 10 is ok but definitely running on fumes at this point. Capaldi did a great job regardless. I'm now up to Whittaker's first ep. May God have mercy on my soul.

*Edit* 3 episodes in...

I've liked Tennant in all the episodes I've seen with him, but then, I've only watched a smattering of the universally acclaimed ones like "Midnight." That was really good, but almost more of a Twilight Zone episode than Doctor Who.
"Midnight" was essentially "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street".

Great episode, one of the creepiest ever.

The problem with axing Doctor Who is that its the one BBC production with international appeal and merchandising potential. The Chav Hour and We Wuz Queenz may be cheaper to produce, but no one outside of Britain watches that shit. Obviously, nu-Who is tanking in the ratings, but I guarantee you its still profitable. And if they actually made an effort*, they could turn it into a decent moneymaker.

*Fire Chinball, stop catering to twitter mobs, focus on the sci-fi/adventure aspects, cast a good looking doctor and a hot chick as his companion = easy win
It's still doing very well with the new target audience, the kind of women who have the most disposable income to spend, and are the most willing to spend it on stupid shit.

John Barrowman is a big reason why Christopher Eccleston tapped out after one season. Barrowman whipped his dick out every single day. Apparently a lot of people behind the scenes were Like That and RTD didn't see an issue with it.

Noel seems to have pretended all his projects required nudity and used that as an excuse to film women. Disgust.

Mickey the idiot strikes again...

Anyway, I wouldn't at all be surprised if RTD, Moffat, and Chinballs *all* have major skeletons in their closet. Especially RTD and Chinballs.

If you read The Writer's Tale, RTD wrote the character of Midshipman Frame in "Voyage of the Damned" for Russell Tovey because he had a crush on him, and also wrote him getting injured to try and give him an excuse to take off as many clothes as possible. At the time I read that, I didn't pay it much heed and wrote it off as a bit of harmless fantasising, but thinking about it now and particularly thinking about it if the sexes were reversed (i.e. it was a male writer writing that about an actress) makes it seem very creepy.

That said, RTD also related a story where he was talking to another member of the crew and they said to him: "You must be the only producer who fantasises about sleeping with half his cast" and RTD replied: "I'm one of the only ones who doesn't actually do it."

I wouldn't be surprised if Moffat had some skeletons either. He said that after his divorce from his first wife he shagged his way around studios like a mechanical digger (his exact words), and he never passed up a chance to get Karen Gillan in something skimpy.

Much as I may dislike his writing, I think Chinballs is the least likely to have done something dodgy. He seems like too much of a wimp and his writing's so sexless I really can't imagine him trying anything on. Then again, there have been some surprise sex pests before, so I wouldn't rule anything out.

You must not be familiar with some of the scripts he wrote for Torchwood.

"Day One" was about a sex addicted alien shagging men to death, and "Cyberwoman" gave us this:

I was unable to find a picture of it, but she was wearing heels instead of the standard boots.

You're right, I completely forgot about those. My memory blanked out the horror.

In that case I take back everything I said. Dude's dirty as fuck.
Shades of when John Nathan-Turner was going around hitting on underage boys at Who cons.

I am pretty sure the Moffat one was just a joke and from what I read it was yet another quote that was taken out of context by the Tumblr crowd. Also Karen Gillan chose her own outfits for Amy Pond. I hate to sound like a blind Moffat defender, I just have experience of years of dealing with Tumblr and woke popular culture “geek” sites that have plagued the past decade spreading false stuff around (not just on him but pretty much anyone who dares to be a white cis male.) so I take everything these days with a grain of salt,

Agreed, I think Moffat is the most professional of all of them. He has a dry sense of humor that comes out in interviews, but that's it.

The Tumblr version of Moffat needs to die in a fire. Most of it probably stems from the pregnant!Amy plotline, which I didn't like either, but Moffat's companions are cool and nuanced. If he gets over his skis with plotlines sometimes, it's better than whatever hugbox plots Chibnall is doing now. Give me a conflict!
