Honestly, the affirmation and “born this way” mantra could very well kill the momentum at this point. And I’m guessing there’s a lot of teachers and the like desperate to have the friends they feel they didn’t have when they were in the closet.

This reminds me of that shit in the '90s where the same soulless corporate subhumans currently doing this shit would insist on inserting usually incredibly lame rap into literally everything. Except the rappers didn't want to molest your children (well other than R. Kelly maybe).
The whole point of this is to lower inhibitions and desensitize children to warning signs that should be screaming PREDATOR. It gets said a lot, but this is the textbook definition of grooming as used by predators. Notice how the people pimping this shit NEVER show the faces of the kids, who when you do see their faces because a "bigot" snuck in to see what's actually happening at these "family-friendly" drag shows, they look horrified and disgusted.
An alarming number of serial killers had their mothers dress them as the opposite sex, either because they just actually wanted a daughter (bad enough) or to punish and humiliate them (like Henry Lee Lucas whose violent misogyny led him to murder his mother first as well as his partner in crime Ottis Toole).
