Honestly why the fuck is drag even accepted and viewed as anything else but a perverted and disgusting fetish? As a child I was super confused as to why they were showing creepy fat men living out their sexual fantasies on TV. Still don't get it, even at a slight glance it's clearly fetish material no matter what the "!def cis men and women!" say. They even have drag shows for teens where I live smh

That's what I always say. I think it scratches an artistic itch for some creative people that watch, but there's better less creepy hobbies to pour your costuming into. I guess gays just permeate every hobby these days, especially costume based ones with their DEEP and OLD history of theatre. I wish they'd stop showing up in my niche historic ones. :(

RuPaul’s Drag Race brought the art to the forefront, which is ironic considering most of the challenges on that show are quite provocative and the contestants are always making raunchy comments to each other. If it’s not a fetish, it’s a lifestyle that has a history of being crude and in-yer-face. I don’t care how “sanitized” these queens who read to kids are. They’re associated with a risque subculture. The modern blurring of entertainment for adults and entertainment for children is dangerous. I don’t like where this is going at all.

I’m already seeing people equate boys/men playing the roles of women during the Renaissance as an aspect of “drag culture”. So stupid.

Ru Paul went from "Drag is just cross dressing dudes having fun" to "Everything's a gender and you're a bigot for not agreeing" real fast.

I'm guessing some HIV+ DEI exec told him "Yeah youre accepting troons now or we cancel you in favor of the million other reality shows we have planned."

I fight people when Kabuki comes up, as Onna Gata was literally occupational misogyny.

There's a big push too with people claiming women in history as being trans for wearing pants or living as "men", such as Ellen Tremayne, as not having been pushed to suppressive liberation via crossdressing but rather as A TRUE TRANS ICON. Why does trans even exist if we could just live as we want now, anyway? Just be a man or a lady who wears whatever they want. The only roles you're being pushed into are by biology.

My employer gives us a list of performers to hire, this can include: petting zoo “check out this lizard!” type people, artists who do DIY stuff, puppets, dancers, musicians… and drag story hour. Guess what genre is the only one that has increased their booking fee, and thus priced themselves out budget?

Inflation is effecting the dude in a dress more acutely than it is any of these other performers? Really? Eat my ass.

i'm guessing it's not that inflation is affecting him more, but rather that because this bullshit is being relentlessly pushed by corporate media and lefty assholes, demand is up so he feels he can charge more.
