Hey, a few years ago wasn't there some event in Texas where a bar invited a bunch of kids and parents to it (during the day) and had a bunch of drag queens dancing and kids slipping cash into their g-strings and it was caught on film? This is a picture from the event, and I'm trying to find it because somebody is arguing that it's fake lol. I'd like to find the actual video itself if anybody knows of it, but I can't find the thing ANYWHERE on YouTube. Yearbooks are all about capturing memories, but a Barrie elementary school’s recently distributed 2023-24 book has created some for all the wrong reasons, according to some parents.

The Ferndale Woods Elementary School yearbook was distributed to approximately 150 students early this fall and contained a page that included 24 different Pride-related flags — LGBT Pride, Progress Pride, Bisexual Pride and Gay Men Pride.

The page also contained flags celebrating Polyamory Pride, Bear Brotherhood, BDSM Rights (which, according to Urban Dictionary, means a physical, psychological and usually sexual power-role-play with consensual participants), Leather Pride and Rubber Pride — all of which have created “shock” among some Ferndale Woods parents, leaving them to wonder how the page was even approved prior to publication.

“Kids were sent home with a yearbook that had ally groups for LGBTQ … This is something we have come to accept as normal now. What was not normal was that the groups listed included BDSM rights, Bear Brotherhood, Leather Pride and Rubber Pride,” parent Jason Duck told BarrieToday, an affiliate of BradfordToday and InnisfilToday.

"(It’s) shocking, to say the least, in an elementary school yearbook. We are hurt and angry as parents that such recklessness could happen. How many kids were asking their parents what BDSM is or simply Googling it? Truly unacceptable," he added.

Duck said he spoke with a secretary at the Simcoe County District School Board head office on Wednesday and was advised the board is recalling the yearbook. However, he said he was unable to find out who reviews yearbooks prior to publication.

An LGBT group in Scotland is promoting a 'harm reduction' approach to cutting, saying that it's wrong to tell kids to not slit their wrists:

LGBT Youth Scotland allegedly trained its volunteers to advise children participating in self-harm to use "clean razor blades" to cut themselves, rather than discouraging the harmful behavior, according to a report from The Times, citing allegations made by a whistleblower who signed up to volunteer at the youth organization.

According to the whistleblower, managers at LGBT Youth Scotland allegedly justified this approach by stating that self-harm is used as a "coping mechanism," and it would be wrong to "take that away" from a child. The whistleblower reported the allegations to the Scottish charity regulator, describing the instructions as "shocking and callous."

LGBT Youth Scotland is a national charity for LGBTQ+ individuals between the ages of 13 and 25. According to its website, the organization aims to provide support, advocacy, and resources to help queer youth thrive. The organization receives more than $1 million annually in taxpayer funds.

The volunteer claimed that when they challenged the policy in October 2023, managers "dismissed" the concerns and reportedly defended self-harm as a viable alternative to children's coping mechanisms. Administrators "didn't see the issue" in supporting cutting, according to the whistleblower. The whistleblower expressed that the instructions could have been perceived by vulnerable young people as "a sign of encouragement" to continue self-harming.
