My early opinions on Daima:
Animation is actually good, but lets see if they can keep this up.
2 episodes in and basically nothing has happened, it seems like they'll try so make the pacing as slow as possible to try to milk the shit out of this show.
I hate the child shit, it's literally just GT again, but the chibi characters look even worse than how they should look as kids.
As a Gohanfag, I'm annoyed that they couldn't even bother to show him so far (outside of the "recap"). Satan was at the party, but not Videl and Gohan?
I'm enjoying that it's not afraid to mess with previously established lore and characters, unlike super and gt. (maybe because Toriyama actually worked on it substantially).
I liked that Namekians were changed back to being demons. It always felt a bit weird how these green niggas from a random shithole planet had magic so powerful that they could create the dragon balls.

Hope they explain in Diama at some point why Goku and the crew don't use the time chamber to get older
Probably still broken from the Buu and Gotenks fight, but a throw away line would be enough.

I think the time chamber has a two year total time limit any person can use it. I think the explanation in super when they used it again was that they rebuilt it differently after it got fucked up in the fight with Boo. presumably that isn't done yet.

discussing dragon ball lore and logic is weird in general. Toriyama was wishy washy and would retcon shit when he felt like it in the original run to varying degrees. I do believe him when he used to explain some of it as him straight up just not remembering. He always used to say he didn't plan shit and really basically was writing Dragon Ball weekly by the seat of his pants and I think as much as I love it the series in general is the rare case where that's 100% evident in the product but it doesn't totally suck. you can read dragon ball and essentially tell what movies, shows, and video games he was checking out in real time.

and then on top of that as a western fan we didn't get any of the guidebooks and most ancillary material. I'm also not sure how much random lore shit I know are dubisms (also a problem with VIZs official translation of the manga) or made up by Toei for the Japanese version of the anime for that matter. I've seen the original dragon ball through z story so many times in so many forms from edited on tv, uncut VHS tapes, scanlations, viz manga, Kai, blu ray, tons of video games that a lot of specific statements about things don't add up and run together entirely anyways.

They already gave an explanation for why the main characters won't go in: Dende was kidnapped and they're going to get him as fast as possible. While one might think they would try it while Bulma is working on the spaceship, Goku is already going so he won't bother with.

For a further explanation, well, I'm pretty sure they're not going to let the women or the babies in there because of how dangerous it may be. Bulma, Chichi, and Videl are normal humans and not strong enough to handle a place like that. So that leaves the guys and while it's possible, most of them wouldn't be interested..

Didn't they already explain that you can only spend 2 days maximum in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and staying any longer seals the exit shut for good?

Plus, the entrance got destroyed during the Buu Saga. Remember they had to asspull that whole "screaming to tear open a portal" gimmick for both Buu and Gotenks + Piccolo to escape.

Dende was kidnapped and they're going to get him as fast as possible
yeah after 10 days. if Glorio hadn't come, Goku and/or Vegeta would have had enough time to train in the time chamber (even if it would have been a month in the chamber)
but let's wait for diama to explain it I hope.
Nevertheless, on a scale of one to ten how do you rate this transformation:

I was wrong because I thought that Frieza trained on earth in the time chamber for 10 days without any problems (the thought will never not be funny that Frieza just found a similar construct on some planet that allows him to do this)
What's it from?
the 3rd episode of Diama if we are lucky

New form looks like that old DragonBall AF SSJ5 joke and like that old fake picture that went around when Battle of God's was coming out. It's neat.

Daima is light and fun. I am hoping it is a chill adventure story that can show off these great characters. I want character moments aplenty. I believe the cast can be thrown into many different situations and still be fun to watch. I really loved the first half of Super Heroes where we saw daily life in the Dragon Ball universe, so here's hoping we get more of that.

I probably won't watch Daima but you know what, they're a pretty neat idea. Hopefully they stick to that but I doubt it.

Slice of life Dragon Ball is certainly an interesting concept, if Daima leans towards that more than anything I might watch it.

Vic's broly was great back in the day, obviously, but he sounded like a shell of himself for Super Broly. Particularly that big power up scream towards the end. You can even tell it's looped, which is sad.

Pretty sure the SoL episodes of Super were some of the more popular ones as well like the picnic and baseball episodes. It's a neat part of dragonball we hardly get to see.

Rewatching Z, its filler is also surprisingly better than I remember it being in a lot of cases.

Also kind of fucked up a whole entire mini-saga can be skipped over when it also had some neat shit in it.

The concept of watching walking nukes be...human is an appealing idea for many I'd say, I'd also say that it goes beyond DB and into other anime/manga/jap stuff.

I think the biggest crime about Super is it didn't have a kino SoL episode like Z did with Goku and Piccolo trying to get their driver's licenses. It tried but just couldn't live up to it.
There was the Dr. Slump crossover episode.
