Nice to have it in canon, at least. I imagine the next movie will use the form with proper proportions.
Yeah, that's the hope. These accursed proportions can be left in Daima. I'm still beyond hyped that it's canon now though, and it was a great episode. This what I've been waiting for, good fights.

I hope SSj4 Vegeta and then Vegito (or whatever this iteration will be called) happens in the next episode, then Daima will have done almost everything I wanted it to aside from including the humans. Humans forever cucked...

When did everyone start gargling GT's balls again? I remember for the longest time it was the blacksheep of the franchise that everyone collectively shat on. Now it seems like everyone loves it.
I've always loved that shit. And everyone always loved SSj4 specifically.

It's a fun callback to the red ribbon army and kinda matches with Bulma's selfish wishes of making herself young.
I also think it's an attempt at character progression, like he's rethinking being an immortal universal dictator. Maybe.

Super went on a competition with GT in order to try and be even worse. I don't think it succeed but it gets extremely close, solely because it did someting every now and then with characters that weren't goku and didn't turns pan into the most hateable little shit immaginable.
I never got the Pan hate, if anything I wanted her to have a more prominent role and become Super Saiyan.

She's insufferable, her gags are terrible, abuses Gil and while the idea was that she had to prove herself to be brave and strong, she utterly fails and is regularly turned into a damsel in distress for goku to save.

OH MY GOD I HOPE GLUP SHIGGO IS NEXT TO BE ADDED TO THE CANON!
HMMM YES, FEED ME MORE SLOP.

Ever since Super the opinion on GT had a drastic face turn. And it was already starting to happen thanks to all the games that had GT characters letting people appreciate the cool designs without sitting through a bunch of shit for a handful of fights.
Tangential to the current topic, but did anyone take Frieza's wish in Super Broly seriously, to grow 5 cm I believe?
It's one of those things that's very obviously Toriyama. By that I mean it's fucking retarded for the sake of it because "fuck you lol". It also just so happens to fit in with the running theme of people making absolutely stupidly selfish wishes. So I'm whatever about it.

We really didn't need any grander motivation for freezeypop to come to earth than "wow this saiyan we found sure is fuck strong . Sure would be funny to sic him on those faggots I hate".

The only praise I'll give GT is that the idea of the Dragon Balls making evil dragons because they were abused and overused is an interesting concept.

The dragons being born from specific wishes was also a huge reward for viewers who'd been watching from the very beginning. I'd be fine with a new version of this arc after Frieza gets dealt with.

I do like it when he says "It's supposed to take centuries to find them." It really puts into perspective just how long it would take to gather them without a radar to detect hem. Especially when most people don't even know about them and just see them as weird baubles.

And now they collecting dust in Bulmas basement until she needs them to make herself look younger. At this point just ask for eternal youth/beauty you bitch.

Or at least ask for a Saiyan lifespan. I can almost see Bulma's desire to look/be younger as more than simple vanity. Being married to and growing old with a guy who looks just as youthful as the day you met him 20(?) years ago must make for some really confusing emotions.

Though from a writing standpoint it probably is just "haha women are vain."

Don't think it has been mentioned here - animator Yoichi Onishi passed away last month (archive)

Dragon Ball Animator Yoichi Onishi Dies

For any anime, it takes the talent and dedication of countless animators to help bring some of your favorite stories to life and the Dragon Ball franchise is no different.

When the shonen franchise made a comeback with Dragon Ball Super, it quickly became one of the biggest anime television series running today, thanks in part to the creatives working behind the scenes. One of the biggest animators for the sequel series was Yoichi Onishi, a long time veteran in the anime world.

Unfortunately, it has been announced by one of Yoichi’s closest friends that the animator has passed away.

Onishi’s passing was revealed by friend Eisaku Inoue, a fellow animator in the anime industry who might be best known for his work on One Piece, Saint Seiya, Tenchi Muyo, and Dragon Ball Z. In a sorrowful Facebook post, Inoue revealed that Yoichi had died and regretted missing a past opportunity to meet with his fellow animator.

Here’s what Inoue had to say, “Yoichi Onishi has passed away. Every time I go to pour coffee since it’s in the neighborhood from my desk. I checked you in your seat but it’s been a couple days ago. Too bad I didn’t show up.” Cause of death has yet to be revealed regarding Yoichi’s passing but fans are already mourning and celebrating the work of the legendary animator. Yoichi Onishi’s Body of Work

Onishi worked on several episodes of Dragon Ball Super, getting his start on the sequel series in the 49th episode of the anime adaptation during the Goku Black Arc. The recent anime series wasn’t the first time that Yoichi entered the Z-Fighters’ long running story.

The animator also took part in several of the feature-length films that helped populate the shonen series, first beginning with the original Dragon Ball movie, The Path To Power. From here, Onishi was a key animator for the likes of Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler, Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13, Dragon Ball Z: Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan, and Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound.

Dragon Ball was far from the only anime franchise that Yoichi helped bring to life. His vast resume includes the likes of Assassination Classroom, A Certain Scientific Railgun, Saint Seiya, Edens Zero, Digimon Adventure, World Trigger, and many more. Spending decades in the anime industry, Onishi’s works won’t soon be forgotten.

Our thoughts are with Onishi’s friends and loved ones during this difficult time.

Baby's backstory too. GT had great ideas with mid and bad execution.

Based, RIP Toriyama.

Idk, SSJ4 showing up in kid form really lessens the impact of the form for me. GT has plenty of flaws, but the fact SSJ4 was such a massive power boost that Kid Goku's body couldn't handle it and it forced him back into adulthood while in use, really helped to make the form feel "special". The whole Baby arc also really helps with that "special" feeling, because its a form even Vegeta couldn't naturally gain on his own. Just having Goku magic'd into Kid SSJ4 makes the previous version of the form feel meaningless and just comes off feeling like an excuse to sell more Kid Goku shit.

It's depressingly common in media now. New power is just given like it's a level up rather than earned.
