Out of boredom, I gave a read to the super manga.
I want to say that the story arcs before Moro and Granolah are as much of a mixed bag as the cartoon, it does a list of specific thing better, plenty of stuff worse, and too much bad shit is left unchanged, with the tournament of power being offensively bad.
I find the Moro arc decent, but it barely sticks the landing, mainly due to how the mab goat himself ends up turning into goat Cell near the end of the arc, which wad was fucking idiotic, the rest was fine, not the greatest thing ever, a few parts could have been removed entirely, but as an arc it was enjoyable enough.
I like Granolah's arc, the enviroment the whole story is set is pretty pretty nice, the characters introduced are also written well enough and have interesting designs, there are some parts of the flashback that I didn't really like, mainly around a single character featured in them, but the rest was good enough for me.
Didn't bothered watching super hero nor reading the super hero arc, aside of the first and last chapters, its fine stuff for all I know, and I'm glad they do something different with goten.

Overall, I think Toyotaro is neither a complete fraud nor a visionaey, he can do shit right, if he puts effort, his comic (written alongside Toriyama) was surely better than daima and gt, but the training whells are gone for him, so I am curious to see if he manages to make something good now or he ends up failing like a retard.

I'm going to assume he's a young adult. the entertainment factor is there
Oh no, that's a middle aged man. Someone in his 30s or 40s.

Also the one who wanted to rape Chi Chi was Goku Black. Yes, that's Zamasu who wants to rape Evil Goku's wife to feel 'human'. I will give you the evil Goku chick.

But Evil Goku's origin story is being born in a universe where he didn't hit his head as a baby, where evil triumphs over good, and he becomes the self proclaimed ruler and destroyer of worlds.

He becomes good when he fell in love with Chi Chi. But then she fell off a building and he wasn't able to save her on time, so he becomes sad and evil again. I don't remember if it was Piccolo's or Raditz's fault.

You know, I found some unusual fic, it is not peak literature, and the guy did a mix of his original art and stock stuff (as well as AI voices), but the concept is quite rare to see in a DB fic.

Basically, the protagonist is Goten. He got the same heart virus as Goku did, and, with everyone busy with Granolah, he goes to a planet where he can be cured, but both the planet and the virus weaken him, so it is not a "DB character wipes the floor with everyone" story. Instead, the focus is on "Legacy", with both Goten and the two people who help him thinking they can't match their parents, and the bad guy, who had become immortal with the Dragon Balls, being someone who outlived his own legacy, so all his actions, good and bad, were forgotten.

But it is only in Brazilian Portuguese, without English subtitles as far as I know.

It will probably be both because that is what Dragonball always kind of was, you have good moments that are followed up by something retarded.

Not that I want to shit on Brian, but going "cool nostalgia" over what is one of the worst shit in DB period is weird.

Sean, as far as I know, is actually an asshole, so fuck him. James Masters doing his redemption for DB Evolution (and actually sounding good) is better than going the nostalgia route.

I kinda get it, because I had a bit of a "oh cool!" reaction when that happened too. Ocean Dub was the one a lot of people grew up with before Funi took over, so the nostalgia makes sense for the older English fans. Hell they only dubbed the show for two years(96-98) but the reruns ran till 05. Lot of people grew up with his voice.

Sean is a bit a cunt for sure, but I still very much enjoy him as Goku when the fighting happens. He also never shied away from dunking on TFS when asked about them which is funny. What's Masters doing?

The dub thing reminds me of how, in Brazil, pretty much no Bandai-published game got a dub. Most of the DB VAs there, especially Goku's VA (Wendel Bezerra), said they'd be willing to make the dub if asked, but Bandai never did.

Shame, weak screams aside, the dub is pretty good, there is also the cool factor of the VA of child Goku (Usula Bezerra) being both the VA of Naruto and Wendel's sister.

For the 40 years of DB, Toyotaro drank an entire bar and declared

"Everything will be canon, GT, AF, Absalon, SS 5, 6, 20, Infinite, and your mom."
Some are a stretch but others I can see being..."inspired" by some of those.

He's a coward and a hyprocrite, I believe he did a panel or two with another Goku VA and was all sweet and nice in person but eventually he'll screech on Twitter about how he and only he is Goku.

I'd post a DBM update but despite several months passing nothing has happened.
Vegeta jobbed and lost to his evil self who is many times weaker than him who then got one-shot by Bra, who keeps showing random techniques that belong to other characters to emphasize how much of a sue she is. (Seriously, has a non-sue character in a fanfic EVER ended up using the fucking Thunder Shock Surprise? Much less using it to instantly KO a Super Saiyan 3 with 0 difficulty.)
That's about all that's happened.
Oh right, and the "backstory" of the main villain is just "he just showed up one day and started killing people then he ended up getting killed in most timelines, the end" (That's all there is, he just showed up out of nowhere and genuinely has the least interesting design I've ever seen for a fanwork villain, including all the freeza recolors or spikier coolers (of which DBM also did) he's just a generic smoky cloud looking nigga with no real features.)
