I'll have you know I made my profile picture in GIMP like a man.
It is an extremely nerdy biochemistry joke. The picture is of a Western Blot, a biochemistry tool used to detect specific proteins. Proteins are (usually) too small to photograph, so we have to rely on other tools to "see" them. MAPK phosphatase, my name, is a protein. Because the western blot is a "picture" of the MAPK phosphatase protein, and I am MAPK phosphatase, it's a "picture" of me. And when someone takes a picture of me, I throw up a peace sign.
