This morning saw the return of a recurring dream: I'm an adult, in elementary school.
For some reason, I'm obligated to continue attending, and I'm treated by the staff as a kid in whatever grade I'm in. Usually Its 2nd-6th grade. Despite being 7-12 years old, in the dreams, I behave more like a generic defiant high schooler (this was not how I acted in high school). I have my car, and I skip classes while staying on campus. My elementary school was too small for this to have worked. I drive off sometimes as kids get on the buses, or sometimes I forget my car is at grandma's house because I took the school bus. These are almost like rules... once per elementary school dream, these events happen in some way.
Sometimes there's something new. This time my brother was in school with me. We rode a tandem bike.
I didn't always have this recurring dream. Before that I used to have teeth dreams, and before that, low-speed car collision dreams. I no longer have either of them.
I mention this because last post I mentioned I stopped smoking. Its said that smoking messes with your brain chemicals, and as a result, you kind of stop dreaming. That post was the first time I'd had a memorable dream in months, so it was notable. I wouldn't have guessed that I'd jump back into having a recurring dream again so soon. The last time I had it was last fall, before that was in the summer. Unfortunately since I just smoked, I probably set my dreams back another two weeks.
