Dreams

After my ten hour bender on Saturday/Sunday, after finally getting home and going to bed, I dreamed that I was on the second floor of some building. I'm not sure what was going on exactly, but it was some kind of religious thing, since there were a bunch of church ladies (although most seemed to be no older than forty) around. They started judging me for basically everything, especially for being hungover and looking disheveled, so I tried to leave. Every time I got to where the stairs would be though, they were gone because a sorority had stolen them and was using them to film a winter-themed music video, so I couldn't get away. :\

There was a field, a steppe perhaps, and I was walking through it without any shoes on. It was night I think. I looked up at the stars but they bled away in the coming light of day before I could catch a glimpse of them. Suddenly Cormac McCarthy, the writer, was standing there without saying anything. I tried to say something because McCarthy is my favorite author but then the whole scene shifted to something else altogether that I can't quite remember.

Had a strange dream where I was sorting cans out with some Eastern European guys. After that, I practiced driving with Vivec from Morrowind and a random dark elf from the Elder Scrolls. They pretty much criticized my driving.

I remember a very short dream I had a few weeks ago. I was driving down the road I usually take to get to school and I noticed out of the corner of my eye the street names were named after some Kiwi Farms members. Only one I remember was CatParty's.

Other than that, I very rarely get dreams in general. What would you guys recommend for me to remember my dreams more often?

I had a dream that my bitch sister and I were at my bio-dad's old house, and she rode a tiny tricycle down the stairs and got yelled at.

Well, there was a dream that I had a little while ago that has kind of stuck with me.

I dreamed that this girl I liked (well, I actually still like her) was over at my house. With another guy. They were lying down on my parents' bed just staring out the window. I tried to say hi, but it felt like I was invisible to them. Later on, I saw the two from across the hallway having sex in my parent's bedroom. On the floor specifically. I then found myself just sitting in front of my bedroom door, my arms wrapped around my legs and my head down.

I came home after my graduation this morning and took a nap. I dreamed that I went to a sort of celebration with a lot of my friends, which was pretty normal. Then I went to some charity celebration honoring some retarded people who had managed to get some sort of special degree (which my university does not do, and I'm not sure that any university does that). One of the retarded girls started hitting on me, which made me really uncomfortable. After a while, it became more like a church service, despite the fact that everyone was still aware that it was a charity party for speds, complete with a preacher. I got bored, so I somehow carved through part of an egg--which I had with me for some reason--shell, and began drinking the contents. Before I finished my raw egg, though, the service, and therefore the party, had ended, so poured the rest of my egg into the back of a pew (into one of those things they use to hold hymn books) and left. I walked somewhere else, and then I had another dream which I can't remember in which I acknowledge that the sped party was a dream. :\

This morning saw the return of a recurring dream: I'm an adult, in elementary school.

For some reason, I'm obligated to continue attending, and I'm treated by the staff as a kid in whatever grade I'm in. Usually Its 2nd-6th grade. Despite being 7-12 years old, in the dreams, I behave more like a generic defiant high schooler (this was not how I acted in high school). I have my car, and I skip classes while staying on campus. My elementary school was too small for this to have worked. I drive off sometimes as kids get on the buses, or sometimes I forget my car is at grandma's house because I took the school bus. These are almost like rules... once per elementary school dream, these events happen in some way.
I tend to have school dreams too, only that they took place in high school or college so I was just whatever grade/year of those, I was generally my current age at the time of dreaming, and sometimes the schools would have bizarre and fantastic architecture that I would explore during free time kind of like a Zelda dungeon. Related to these dreams, I have a lot of dreams about roaming around and exploring the world, sometimes in completely bizarre ways, whether it's being warped to England through some strange method for whatever stupid reason or walking on a map like you would in some video games like Super Mario World.

I had a dream a few days ago where I had to do a final project in my English class that somehow involved breaking into an office building and stealing top secret shit from a guy who looked eerily like Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising. Then after entering an elevator during the insane chase scene the dream transitioned to an underground tunnel with APCs and I found out I was very behind on my English essay. Then I woke up with a sigh of relief that I was out of school.

It was one of those dreams again.

I honestly think that dream remembrance is a hit-or-miss thing. Some people are just predisposed to remember them more often than others. Although I will say that I tend to remember my dreams much more often (basically every night, though not all of them stay with me later) during the summer or winter breaks when I can get uninterrupted sleep. Academic-year dreams usually just give me bits and pieces in comparison.

Had a dream where I was in a high school cafeteria taking what I think was a statistics test and where I got so nervous that I didn't even finish it. Kept blaming someone else for how I did 0 preparation for it. The clock was going faster and faster and then I broke down and two of my old teachers entered the room and I was begging to be able to retake the test right then and there. At the end, the teachers just talked about stuff they were going to listen to on the radio.

Almost all the dreams I tend to have tend to be pretty bizarre or just absolute nightmares or have something to do with the past.

Some sites I've been to about lucid dreaming will tell you to keep a dream journal, though I haven't gotten around to keeping one and I personally think I should stop acting like Connor with mine and try to write about my dreams in an organized journal rather than forum threads.

Ugh. Had another one, this time about having someone I used to know from school meeting up with me and crying because he hadn't seen me in so long and also walking over this bridge controlled by racists where they don't let anyone who's not white cross unless they pay $3000. They were charging Germans $1500 to cross the bridge if driving. The guard told me that I'd have to walk over huge set of stairs over the water where the spaces are so big i could have easily slipped and drowned in the water if I fell. He also told me something about this multicultural bridge that I could have taken where they wouldn't have charged me a dime.

I had this dream where I was calling out to my dogs outside. As I was shouting their names, my voice started to disappear. They didn't hear me as I tried to shout out. After that, I woke up in two in the morning. I guess one way to think about it is that it's reminding me of my fear of losing them.

I had a dream that I got into a car accident on a freeway off ramp, a case of hitting the gas pedal when I should hit the break. I stayed in the car after the accident because I thought the guy I hit was going to beat me up.

Last night was Thursday, when I usually drive on the freeway, but I didn't yesterday because my class was cancelled. That may have had something to do with it.

I had a rotten dream last night.

I dreamed that I was a kid again, probably about twelve. Everything was the same as when I was that age: my house was the same, my little brother was just a baby, and even my childhood dog was there.

The dream started with my dad yelling at me because I failed a math test. I was upset because I just wan't grasping the material, but my dad was really chewing me out even though I was trying my hardest. Then my mom came in, and she and my dad started fighting about money and how they were going to pay for my brother's childcare. Right then, my dog came running up to the back door. I let the dog in, but he was carrying a disembodied human head by the hair. The head belonged to an adult male with blonde hair. His eyes were closed and there was blood dripping from the neck stump. I started begging my parents to "call the police" and to "make it go away" but they were just standing there in shock and wouldn't react.

I'm still weirded out.
