You should elaborate more on this in the programming thread. Speaking of the programming thread, why have you not posted more in it past 13th December of 2022?
His opinions on programming were so uniquely profound and worthwhile that he got threadbanned. The other posters there just couldn't handle his genius.

(To be fair, I've no idea if this is true or not, it just amused me.)

I'd bet this is just chinks being chinks. "Why should I care about the damage I cause when it's not me who's paying?" is their fucking national slogan. Bunch of subhumans, give me statues and hats if you want.
Back when Theresa May was courting the Chinese, Huawei was forced to pay for GCHQ to investigate the quality of their software. GCHQ concluded that they couldn't see any deliberate malice, but the code was so shockingly bad that it could easily be used for something nefarious.
So yes, it's more than likely just old-fashioned Chinese incompetence.

The chinks have their dim-witted ways in their blood. They will shit up your network. They will steal your work, they will steal from the other chinks who stole your work. They will run ghost shifts to sell fakes if you build a factory there. They will take every chance to scam you, they will send you good samples and then shit product. You can go there and look at their hands and force them to do something the right way and the minute you board your plane back west they will resume fucking up the work. China is where most of failed brute force attempts come from to my infra. China is the biggest scientific shithole in the world. The only good thing to come out of chinese internet is the cracked western software warez. And they stole even that.

Still, the idea that TikTok bot army is "DDoSing" Drews's web shitshow is amusing. Yes they have shit crawlers. Yes they disregard robots.txt. Yes their crawlers can't even crawl properly and cause excess laod. No, the CCP does not give a shit about your website.

You don't like it? Just block that user agent, if you can tell it's them you can write a filter rule, you utter imbecile.

Edit: I thought it was Hector Martin's post, edited this out

And keep in mind that this is an org that lets Oracle* and Fujitsu slide so you know that it's absolutely putrid.

*seemingly inevitable in the business world

Not just chinks, remember the flower image from wikimedia that got loaded every time some indian app got launched?

I think it makes sense that Drew believes it. Dude is working himself up to be a genius of web development and seemingly doesn't know how to implement rate limiting.

It was the same with the Go repository fetching. He didn't rate limit that shit, he only blocked it whole or "was being DDOS'd".

If he rate limited, the code wouldn't be Simple™ anymore.

His problem with Google in that was perfectly legitimate. Google is like a rail barron, and callously wastes bandwidth because it doesn't pay for it, and is likely paid to use it.
If he rate limited, the code wouldn't be Simple™ anymore.
In discussions about the stink he raised with Google, some people figured Google was doing just that, believe it or not, because it's easier to program that way, and the geniuses at Google don't get paid to optimize costs that aren't there.

Still, he's not going to have any luck demanding the chinks to change, like he did with Google.

Okay, assume there is a secret shadow war going on tied into "global conflicts" whatever that means, assume that ancient cheap shit routines are used as the main munitions in this conflict, assume China would run their munitions through TikTok rather than all the better choices, etc. Why would they target Drew's shit? Their goal is to temporarily bother any vulnerable American server they can find?

His git server is totally "critical infrastructure" or something idk

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it's probably some shitty code an adult-diaper wearing Chinaman who works 9 to 9 for 7 days a week yoinked from stackexchange.
A lot of these Chinese software are coded horribly. I used some expensive thing before and you can push back the trial expiry date by CHANGING YOUR PC'S DATE.

Why would the CPC give a shit about your stupid projects?

Unwarranted self importance. Drew has always been someone who thinks he is going in the history books next to the founding fathers for future generation to venerate his name. So of course the CCP want him personally dead and are targeting him. A lot of FOSS devs have this syndrome. Where they think they are some sort of martyr and important to the world stage. Like others have said, chinks always just commit cybercrime all the time. I remember how back in the day we would get dictionary attacks coming from IPs in China. Trying to access admin portals. They face 0 repercussions for it. Like how people get the crypto hacks on youtube right now. It all comes from nations that don't give a fuck about internet crimes. My bet it is not ideological, they are just trying to be scamming chinks, looking to hijack what they can to be used in scams.

It seems like Drew's character assassination of Richard Stallman has its intended effect in the tranny sphere. On /r/linux on R*ddit, we can find an unironically wholesome post (a) wishing Richard Stallman a happy birthday. While the post itself has many updoots, the comments are overwhelmingly vitriol, dilation, and politisperging of the highest order. Here's some top comment examples:

Politisperging that makes no sense.

1710847055555.png
"He was rude."
"Why?"
"WHY DONT YOU ASK HIM YOURSELF?"

Completely sane and normal tranny reaction. Obviously Stallman was the problem, not him.

One of the top comments directly references one of Drew's hitpieces.

I do lurk the subreddit for keeping up to date with major Linux developments. Yes, it is a tranny-infested shithole, but it is what it is. Anyway, point is that I have never seen this much strong negativity towards Stallman until Drew made his hitpieces. Now they are all rabidly against him, GNU, and the FSF. It's really amazing how much credence trannies lend to this bowling ball-headed fuck.

The pleasure card thing is such a weird thing to get hung up on. To my surprise, it's not from Drew's hitpiece, which mostly focuses on framing RMS as a pedophile and rapist. Where did it come from?
