Drew Chadwick DeVault / ddevault / SirCmpwn - Opinionated white-male-guilt-ridden software developer. Cancelled Hyprland and slandered it as "toxic" and transphobic. Hates X11 users and Hacker News. Lolicon.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Did Drew just nuke / private those? They are gone now with 401 Unauthorized. Someone should archive the entire repository as a tarball (if anyone did clone it before he took it down)
Yup, he's DFEing in real time. Hi Drew! Bet you didn't expect your autistic crusade to blow up in your face to this degree. Enjoy prison.

is there anyone trying to convince the onlookers as comprehensively as it's being done here, in a way that doesn't reference 4chan or the farms in any way
i REALLY don't want a gigapozzed gpl-v4
There is drewdevault-report.org but that's a bit sparse, but i think i've heard somewhere that there is a group of people working on a more comprehensive one.

LMFAO
F U C K A R O U N D F I N D O U T
Drew.
How does it feel to be a retard who's own hair brain scheme has backfired? Pinky and the Brain come up with more none retarded plans than you.
Harebrained*, not hair brained
Which is ironic because...

I am working on my own, but it's more of a personal rant where I autistically go over every single part of the stallman report and then explain in detail why it exists and why the FSF should point and laugh instead of take anything in it seriously. Not necessarily a professional breakdown that normal people want to read.

I have held back publishing mine for a few days in light of the information that Drew is a kid diddler because I want time to include all of the fresh new lolz when I'm done.

This fucker deserves the Meltonne treatment. Feet first.
It's almost sickening seeing an actual pedo trying to tear down the legacy of a sperg he could never be; a man that St. Terry could have been if he hadn't gotten dealt such a shit hand with the schizophrenia.
Mind you, RMS is indeed a gross autist of the highest degree, but he never talked out loud about the tightness of little girls. I wish the absolute worst on all the diversity hires and programming socks coomer infesting the open source movement.

In a sane world, childish behavior like this would've resulted in this bald piece of shit getting banned from freedesktop and anyone with major pull in the FOSS community would disassociate with this walking liability. The fact that they haven't is likely sadly because Richard Stallman is considered a controversial figure.

Love him or hate him, almost everyone has benefited from his contributions to software development, including the pseudointellectual Redditors who still insist on attacking Stallman, as well as continuing to defend Drew.

The majority of machines powering the internet use a combination of the GNU userland, software compiled using gcc/g++, and software that's licensed as GPL. Hell, even Windows' TCP/IP stack is loosely derived from BSD code which is another project that Stallman convinced to make their code free and open sourced.

In my eyes, anyone who wants to erase a man from their life's work, especially one that has benefited humanity in such a massive way is so evil that I cannot even put it into words.

I better stop here because this is turning into a spergy rant. Sorry if I shat up the thread.

Drew DFE'd the git repos for his current and former blog sites. Fortunately, I had already cloned both and they are now mirrored on gitgud.io

Current blog: drewdevault.com - History: 2020-08-21 to 2024-09-29 - https://gitgud.io/G7w3QgRBvg/drewdevault.com - made private ~2024-10-21

Blog prior to redesign: old.drewdevault.com (formerly drewdevault.com) - History: 2013-06-19 to 2020-08-17 - https://gitgud.io/G7w3QgRBvg/old.drewdevault.com - made private ~2024-10-21

On his old blog Drew had his resume, which he deleted from the blog on 2018-01-06:

        <h1>Drew DeVault</h1>
        <p>I'm a software developer. For pay, I usually do web development. In my spare time, I do a little bit of everything else.
            I am a seasoned expert with many modern technologies and I maintain a hefty portfolio of open-source software.</p>
        <p style="color: red">I am not currently seeking employment.</p>
        <h2>Technologies</h2>
        <p>These lists are incomplete. I am able to easily learn new technologies and programming languages as needed.</p>
        <p><strong>Languages</strong>: C#, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, CoffeeScript, CSS/LESS/SCSS, Assembly, Bash, Ruby, Java</p>
        <p><strong>Technologies</strong>: Bootstrap, knockout.js, Mustache, Backbone, Angular, jQuery, ASP.NET MVC, Flask, AutoFac, Umbraco</p>
        <p>I am comfortable in Linux, Windows, and OSX. My preferred editor is vim or Visual Studio (for .NET).</p>
        <h2>Professional Work</h2>
        <p>I have a history of delivering quality software on a professional level. Here are some examples:</p>
        <h3>Freelance</h3>
        <h4>Microsoft Certification Exams <small>&mdash; July 2013</small></h4>
        <p>In June of 2012, I was approached by Microsoft regarding some upcoming Microsoft Certification Exams. They asked me to sit on
        the "alpha" board for several upcoming tests. This work entailed reviewing every potential question for accuracy and discussing
        them with other leading experts in the industry. I sat on a team of 12 experts to review the ASP.NET MVC 4, Windows Azure, and C# 5
        exams over the course of a few months. The exams have since shipped and are the leading standard of certification for these technologies.</p>
        <h4>SethBling.com <small>&mdash; February 2013</small></h4>
        <p>I once contacted "SethBling", a YouTube personality, about his own attempts at making a website, and offered to do the
        work for him. I admire Seth's work, and was eager to help out. A few hours later, I finished
        <a href="http://sethbling.com" target="_blank">sethbling.com</a>, an ASP.NET-driven blog, including a means of distributing his YouTube content.
        The site is powered by Umbraco (and I happen to be an Umbraco certified developer), and offers him a user-friendly interface for
        composing his blog posts and preparing new downloads for his followers. SethBling has reported great satisfaction with the website
        and has since referred me to several other contacts.</p>
        <h3>Full Time</h3>
        <h4>Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) <small>&mdash; June 2013 - November 2013</small></h4>
        <p>The goal of this company is to build and launch rockets and other spacecraft. At SpaceX, the internal operations software is an ASP.NET
        MVC application, and is responsible for managing parts and purchasing, finances and inspections, and more. I was responsible for working
        on this application, upgrading legacy WebForms code to use ASP.NET MVC with Razor, and creating new standards for applications built on
        Entity Framework (backed by a MS SQL database) with Twitter Bootstrap and knockout.js.</p>
        <h4>Chefs' Catalog <small>&mdash; July 2012 - June 2013</small></h4>
        <p>Chefs' Catalog is a Colorado-based cookware company that sells tools in an online store. This store is based on a similar technology
        stack, using ASP.NET MVC 3 with Entity Framework and MS SQL databases. I was mostly responsible for the middle of the application, connecting
        the database layer and the application layer together with AutoMapper and AutoFac. Additionally, I provided security advisement, improving
        the overall security of the application and the company as a whole.</p>
        <h2>Open Source</h2>
        <p>I spend a lot of time on open-source software. Whenever I've written some code that could be useful to someone else, I put it
        up on GitHub. I also maintain a long list of projects that I've written over time. You can view it all on my <a href="https://github.com/SirCmpwn" target="_blank">
        GitHub account</a>. Here are some highlights:</p>
        <div class="media">
            <div>
                <h3><a href="https://github.com/SirCmpwn/Craft.Net" target="_blank">Craft.Net</a></h3>
                <p>Craft.Net is an open-source .NET library for working with the video game Minecraft. It is the result of
                years of effort reverse engineering network protocols and internal game behavior. It features a robust multiplayer server that
                is capable of handling hundreds of long-term concurrent TCP connections, while simultaneously juggling physics simulation,
                procedural terrain generation, and more.</p>
            </div>
            <div>
                <h3><a href="https://mediacru.sh" target="_blank">MediaCrush</a></h3>
                <p>MediaCrush is an open-source media hosting site. It's backed by Python+Flask and the front-end is
                entirely browser-native JavaScript. Users upload media to the site to share with others, including images,
                audio, and video. We use ffmpeg to convert gifs to HTML5 video so they'll load faster, and we also use
                ffmpeg to convert video and audio to browser-ambiguous formats.</p>
            </div>
            <div>
                <h3><a href="https://github.com/KnightSoft/kernel" target="_blank">KnightOS</a></h3>
                <p>KnightOS is a third-party operating system targetting various Texas Instruments calculators. It features a
                custom-built kernel and userland, written entirely in z80 assembly. The project's toolchain was also purpose-built
                in C# and Python, including a modern assembler and documentation generator. It brings multithreading, tree filesystems,
                and more to the z80 at only 6KHz, with a measly 32K of memory.</p>

From looking at the git history of this file, we can see that Drew listed a history of telephone numbers and home addresses (NOTE: none of these are current as Drew now lives in the Netherlands):

Drew later moved to Philadelphia, and in June 2021 he announced his intention of leaving Philadelphia for the Netherlands, where he still lives today.

It's amazing to me how this thread has existed for nearly a year, and this is only coming to light now. It goes to show that part of good security is not being a target in the first place. If he hadn't bullied children and old men, I'm not certain anyone outside this forum would even care.

For Thanksgiving this year, I'll be thankful that I'm better at identity separation than Drew.

DFE Update:

spacepub.space

Drew appears to have fully nuked https://spacepub.space, his personal peertube (p2p video-sharing) instance, which included the recorded livestream where he leaked his qutebrowser quickmarks (video clip here).

The whois records of the domain appear to be unchanged, but the server is now refusing connections on port 80 and 443, for both the IPv4 (69.164.212.59) and IPv6 (2600:3c03::f03c:91ff:fe99:88a4) addresses.
Unfortunately this means we have lost the evidence forever :(

Known privated repos

The list of known privated repos on git.sr.ht/~sircmpwn now stands at:
  • dotfiles
Contains qutebrowser quickmarks to /u/, /c/, and danbooru. [archive.is]
  • drewdevault.com
Blog. [Gitgud mirror, archive.is of main page] - from the equal top-level commit hashes we can prove that the mirror repo is identical to the original
  • old.drewdevault.com
Old blog. Gitgud mirror
  • macrobot
"An IRC bot that can do macros". Listed in Drew's projects on page 13, no direct archive found [wayback, archive.ph, ghostarchive]
  • receptor

If he has any sense, he'll ask the Internet Archive to remove those archives. Still, they're a little busy over there right now.

With the DFE in progress, I wouldn't be surprised if Drew was currently F5-ing this thread, looking for things he forgot in his DFE. Thus, I suggest to any kiwis digging up evidence on Drew, hold off on posting about it until you've managed to secure archives. Even if it isn't something he can directly touch, he clearly has contacts with tranny jannies willing to sweep for him scattered throughout the tech industry.

If you can't archive it yourself, maybe reach out to OP or one of the other regulars in this thread who have been posting archive links.

Better late than never. But yes - best way to not get swatted/dug through is not attracting any attention. Just like in real life. To minimize chances of being beat up on the street, look like an absolute NPC and avoid bad districts.

I would hope this will finally make people less sympathetic of Drew, but alas I have a feeling most of his fans will not care. He could bomb New York tomorrow and they'd not care.

However, maybe the bystanders and people who are not familiar with Drew will be more skeptical of what he says. Whenever he opens his mouth it's like a toxic sludge coming out, spewing all over the place.
