Fairly easy, as long as you don't mind some screeching coming your way. For example, as:public is a fedi search engine that consumes streaming API data instances use for displaying the global feed. It's explained better in its about page. Made by a guy who's a lolcow in his own right.

My experience of the last 10 years is that this tactic is extremely effective on the majority of people. So many current SJW/woke/progressive zealots started out as normal, well-intentioned people that dared to say a word against the regime, and found themselves in the middle of a harrassment and shaming ritual. Prime example for me is Anthony Fantano. He was a normal guy that started to dip his toes into the tamest possible end of what might be described as "edgy" content. Some music industry rag called Fader ran a hit piece on him as "alt-right" (which helps to place the kind of time period this was). He originally reacted with sarcastic indignation in a response video, but it's clear that it weighed on his mind for potentially years, and the article marked the start of a long road of Fantano's radicalisation into the insufferable dipshit everyone knows him as today.

I bet it's a similar psychological mechanism to hazing rituals. Dehumanise a person, shame and humiliate them, but then offer them membership into your club, where you'll be the one dishing the abuse out rather than taking it. People get cognitive dissonance from being a dissident, and when people are being bullied by another group, they're going to desperately try to get in the group's good graces. That usually means they'll not just play the part outwardly, but they'll actually change their own dearly held beliefs to make the mental discomfort go away. Either that or, in a minority of cases, they'll become hardened and defiant, and actively hate the group instead of being indifferent. It's not a stable equilibrium.

But I would say that a more realistic phrasing is that the US government is skeptical that they would be able to prove obscenity, and thus lolicon isn't a violation of any federal obscenity laws. It's not that they decriminalized lolicon, but that it's probably, unfortunately legal.

This isn't like other examples of the US government declining to prosecute. Like medical cannabis was effectively decriminalized for years because the US government just decided it wasn't worth their time to try to prosecute it. Though if they had. Like if they went and scooped up potheads outside of medical cannabis shops in California, there was zero question about whether or not they'd be able to secure convictions. The law itself was absolutely clear; the feds were just simply declining to pursue them.

It's a lot murkier with speech issues.

If you run a fediverse node, it's probably a really good idea to blacklist servers that distribute lolicon. Not because you're going to get vanned for it, but just because those degenerates are nothing but trouble.

It's the same sort of troubles 8chan ran into trying to be a bastion of free speech. It just attracted troublesome faggots.

The most important case about this is probably United States v Williams because it addresses taking a photo of an adult and digitally alternating it to make it look underage (which would also encompass some of the A.I. stuff that I'm sure will come up). It's the case that was famously in the background of that fucked up Balenciaga advertisement with the BSDM children's stuffed animals. I don't think it addresses the obscenity aspect. I think that's what hasn't been challenged yet, at least not at a federal level.

loli is gross, but I don't think it should be illegal. Nothing that goes from your brain to your hand to a sheet of paper should ever be illegal (both text and drawing). That literally gets into thought crime. In the United Kingdom a man was convicted for having porn of Simpsons characters. That's just dumb.

I agree I don't like how Lunduke keeps calling this childporn. Even if it might not be legally distinct in DeFuckwit's current country, it's a weird legal issue in countries around the world and needs to be addressed appropriately. It is objectively different.

Now what's hilarious is how DeVault is Oikophobic to America, and was bitching about living in Philadelphia. How incredibly ironic would it be if he got prosecuted in The Netherlands for his loli addiction, something that's legal wouldn't lead to prosecution in his country of citizenship/origin. That would be fucking poetic.

I read a post someone made on this couple of weeks ago on the subject of Drew (can't be arsed to find it, sorry), and I believe it said the Netherlands has a rule that it does not count as illegal CP-tier material as long as a reasonable person would readily recognise the work as an artistic illustration (or something along those lines) and not based on real life.
