I wonder how long the US First Amendment, which remains the fundamental barrier to immediate arbitrary censorship on the clearnet of any site deemed "hateful", will hold. Where I come from, "hate speech" laws could bring a good number of users of this site to court, if it were placed under its legislation.
I doubt it will be challenged by the mere lamentations of ugly transsexuals, but other events, fabricated or not, could sharpen and radicalise the demands for it.
The pretext that led to the Cloudflare incident is reminiscent of Matthew Prince's first abdication, the Daily Stormer case. A message calling for targeted violence on its forum. Anyone can make such a post - an idiot, like the censor himself. And it is far more convenient to please an aggressive mob and somewhat influential scribblers than to say no.
Matthew Prince is no longer one of those men.
To be one would certainly require exceptional willpower, in the sense that the majority of people have always been, are and will fundamentally be followers, but also significant financial resources that you have to be prepared to deploy in the face of the oligopoly in place of the various services that allow you to access a given website.
And all this for what? An online forum?
That would also require madness, surely.

What really gets me is after all this effort and all this grandstanding we are still here posting mostly without issue.
The sad part of this is that with enough troon tears the site might simply become to expensive to maintain. Getting nocked of the net as the result of an empty coin purse as opposed to any actual technical issue.
If i ever hit the lotto at least a 4th of it would be going to Jersh just so he would have the monetary security to keep this up along with some left overs for hookers and blow.
I imagine our fearless leader could use some R&R After the week he has had.
