You can directly link to both collections and individual URL archives on Conifer as long as you share them publicly. The only editing you can do on the site itself is to remove things from the capture, like deleting the part where you log into a site.

If you download the WARC files then yeah you could technically edit them, but practically speaking WARC is such an autistic format that producing a believable fake would be pretty difficult. It's not like using Inspect Element to edit shit in your browser, it's capturing the full network traffic with all the HTTP requests and byte size headers and shit. If you edited the content and didn't make all the other shit line up it'd be obvious, and making all that shit line up is beyond most people.

I get what you're saying, having a third-party archive service is obviously better for proving things. But you can use the official Rhizome Conifer instance that way right now, and if for some reason they cuck out then somebody could use the open source Conifer software to run their own instance instead. I like archive.ph, I hope it stays up, but if it drops or cucks then there are still viable options.

Reminder Near had a 12 page long thread that was pretty much fucking inactive until he has the bright idea to try and extort the farms to get the thread removed.

Which could very easily be used to present a deceptive representation of an archive by removing context. Such an archive can't be trusted.

We're talking about entire pages here, not individual elements within a page. It accurately records every single page you visit through it and there's no way to alter the context. It's like "hey don't include that login page" or "delete that shitty version of the page where it didn't load correctly," not "haha, I can deepfake the contents of the archive to own the trannies!"

Saying that it can't be trusted is as ridiculous as saying that an individual archive.ph link can't be trusted because we don't know what other pages the submitter might've visited or archived beforehand, or we don't have archives of literally every other page on the site. Like it's not even an argument, you're just misunderstanding what it is and how it works. Every archiving service uses the WARC format, they're all equally susceptible to any conspiracy shit you could say about Conifer.

First he made CIA Nigger delete it with some gay Discord deal and then he emailed Null and asked to take it down acting as if he didn't make a mod suicide his account for his 12 page thread. Honestly he's lucky he didn't get Streisanded the first time he tried to remove it.

And what's the url you can just give to anyone and they can use it and trust it without having to have a bunch of technical knowledge?

This just doesn't serve the same purpose as a public archive site run by a (so far) trustworthy third party.

Y'know, I don't understand why they make Kiwi Farms an exception when there are other sites that do perpetuate the very same things they vocally denounce. Heck, even FB, Twitter, and Reddit have had cases where their users have doxed, harassed, threatened violence and death, posted cheese pizza, and exhibited racist and anti-LGBT behavior and sentiments. They would've been taken down a long time ago if that were the case. It doesn't really help when those accusations are blatantly false. If they look beyond the common usage of the "bad words" anyways.

This crusade doesn't help anyone either. It's obviously clear that all this campaigning is not borne out of a noble and just cause. It's about wiping records and removing all accountability about actions past and present. The people spearheading and supporting this whole thing aren't people you would like to support or get behind with either. In most cases they'd have their own thread here. No sane person (LGBT or otherwise) would ever support and march in this clown parade. Not only that but they tried to go after archival tools. The very same tools that help preserve collected accounts of misdeeds and deplorable behavior and in turn preserve awareness within communities about certain problematic individuals.

They're only kneecapping themselves. I bet they're not even aware of the existence of our local LGBT Kiwis who create critical and substantial discussion and debate. This crusade has done nothing but raise even more awareness about this place. Sure there are people who will remain convinced that this is what it really is. But there will be people who will look over here and realize that it is contrary to what they parroted. This crusade will only draw more ire and scrutiny and it will only be a matter of time before it all blows up in their face. And I'm sure this will also consequently affect innocent bystanders in the LGBT community and will further reinforce established negative stereotypes and negative perceptions about LGBT people.

What a fucking shitshow.
