X-posting because it's good advice.

Neger, would you give Phil TRUE and AUTHENTIC advice if he pays you an hourly fee?

I'd do it for free it it were worth it (i.e. he'd actually do anything differently)

He's been given enough advice about every single aspect of his life from fitness, mental well-being, debt management, how he acts on stream and with his fans and haters but he doesn't take any of it. He doesn't do anything differently, and probably never will until its too late.

Teaching a man to fish/giving him a fish and all of that shit applies in this situation.

DSP should learn to understand hype. He streams 6 days a week and because of that has put himself in a position where he "needs" to take a day off a week to maintain some degree of work-life balance and his relationship with Kat. If he streamed less days a week when there's no hype around what he's playing he could stream more when there's hype around some new game, a redemption run, etc. He would be all around better off if he invested the time and effort into adjusting his schedule to fit actual "business need" instead of this autistic, inflexible, daily grind he subjects himself to.

Agreed, he would probably get the same amount of money anyways.

He could also look at streaming from 9AM-4PM (his time) with breaks, if needed, at 12PM and 2PM. That would equal his typical 7 hours of streaming right off the bat. Then, he could alternate days of 2nd streaming from 7-10PM (or 7-9PM or whatever), and he would have 3-4 days a week where he's spending all evening with Kat. Instead of his claimed 1-2 hours, just for dinner and then a little more after 2nd stream. He could probably even keep on with taking a full day off too. This would also allow flexibility for bigger releases, as noted by you guys.

I just want him to do co-op with Kat or duo commentary, believe it or not, it would probably reach 1k of viewers

And at this point, if he treats playing games like a job, just sellout and say "I will play more hour or two than usual in the second session if we reach a goal of 200$ throughout the two sessions" i bet his paypigs would eat that shit up

Or maybe....i shouldn't give too much of a good advice ....

DSP should make his on-screen notifications stay on screen longer if you give him more money.

He should completely kill off "ask the king". Its a pointless show that barely generates views and he doesn't do it frequently enough to matter. He never fields questions from his streamchat and gets angry at people that do ask questions when he does "ask the king" which is fucking stupid.

No one on god's green earth can be fucked to go sign up on some special webforum to ask a streamer questions 6 weeks in advance. The only people that do are morons.

Instead he should do it as a livestream event every week or two that's an hour or two long and let people ask questions via stream chat. He could focus the topics onto specific stuff like video games or current events. That way he'd get tips and cheers and it'd actually be worth something and it'd actually be "interactive". Asking questions more than a week in advance is not interactive. It's like writing letters to your pen pal who is a fucking prison inmate and waiting 6 weeks for a reply.

I know he will never do it but he should change this shit.

I agree with this. Especially with a game like Bloodborne where he's getting very good viewership. Hard to retain that viewership if you are going to fuck off for 2 hours and come back with a boring RPG. Also more double streams of the same game like hes doing with GoW.
Speaking of JRPGs, please just stop streaming those. They are too long, story and text heavy. There are just some games where it's better to just play yourself.

You know what would be a good event for Phil? He should make his vacation with Kat a survival-horror trip back to the abandoned Connecticut condo. By day they can attempt to Macgyver themselves the basic conveniences of life without electricity or water, and by night they can fight off the vermin that have taken up residence in the walls and floorboards.

Pardon my :autism: here....

I have often thought that if Phil embraced the way that he is portrayed as in da detractor videos. If Phil just made his actual persona on his streams the way Slowbeef did in the couple of videos he did....I would be willing to bet he'd rake in some serious subs, tips, and cheers. Phil sucks shit at games. He acts like he is God's gift to gaming, but watching him play (and replay) a Soulsborne game proves otherwise. He plays well enough to be an average gamer. I fuckin' suck at the Soulsborne games. I turbo-level like nobody's business. It would be funny as shit if he popped up first thing on his next shtreem 40 BL/SL higher than he was previously and tanked through some stuff while ignoring chat calling him out on this.

Phil has the potential to be legitimately funny. But his pride holds him back. If he did more "DSP Tries It" videos doing mundane things or using simple products, in the DSP character (bugged dishwasher mechanics, bugged mail getting mechanics, online lag with the oven), he would basically be a streaming version of Tourette's Guy. If he just ran with the TIHYDP nature of da detractors. If he did this. If he did that.

I don't hate the dude. I think he's a fuckin' nimrod, but I don't hate the guy. There's a lot of if's that roll around with regards to him, and he'd do well to implement some of the things that have been said. But, he's so stubborn that if you told him that he could win a billion dollars by smashing a Wolverine toy with a hammer, he'd ban you from chat and call you an idiot.

The prestream length thing can't be said enough, but its also been said so many times, not just on here, but also on TKOH as well as DSP's Twitch. He's never really addressed why they are so fucking long, and even his "short" prestreams which are like 30-45 minutes are still ridiculously long when he's put out a schedule saying he'll be playing video games.

I'll tell you exactly why his prestreams are so incredibly long: they're the only times that Phil is actually enjoying his """"job"""". Phil loves nothing more than talking about himself and speaking as an authority; think about all the times that he's said that his Twitch is his land and he's the king. Prestreams are where he really gets to dive into droning on and on like he actually knows what he's talking about on certain topics, and he also gets to talk about himself and his problems in an environment where he can control for any and all negative feedback. Like any good narcissist, Phil has found the echo chamber where he can get to suck his own dick AND be looked up to as a source of knowledge and insight.

He probably enjoys gaming, but think about how many games he's played over the years, and how shit his commentary is and has been. He fakes enjoyment for the first part of every game: singing, seal claps, exaggerated voiceovers, 'interaction', until he gets angry that nobody cares about the stream and it devolves into shitting on the game devs and his fanbase for not supporting him. Then it's just him slogging through to the finish or ragequitting.

But nothing will ever come close to getting to him getting to talk at a subservient, controlled audience for however long he feels like talking.
