DSP bought the house at a premium to try to fuck the owner who was the gf/fiance/wife of a coworker. The housing bubble popped and the value of the home went to almost half of what he paid.
I asked a friend who is a real estate agent and he basically said that one of the things DSP can do at this point is to try to prove hardship to the bank in order to get a refinance on the CT condo. Which is going to be impossible to do considering he makes 90,000+ a year and owns another home which he has equity in because it's gained value since he's purchased it.
DSP could theoretically sell the WAKando at a profit of almost 100,000 (assuming he hasn't outright trashed and ruined the unit), use the proceeds from that sale to pay the difference of the CT condo (maybe 50,000?) when he sells it at a loss, and then get a mortgage on a smaller home or condo (he doesn't need 3 bedrooms lul) and be extremely comfortable financially.
He likes to pat himself on the back about how much of a good decision it was to move and buy a house in WA as housing prices are starting to pick up, which only matters if he sells the house at a profit, and time might be running out because if the homeless/drug/crime problem in Seattle spreads to the suburbs (hint: it will, look at Chicago and the outlying cities like Joliet, Aurora, etc.) then the value of his SECOND home will plummet and he'll be underwater on two mortgages.
He's mentioned that he was able to get a loan or something for the condo through the government, or they paid... something. It was something about buying your first home if you were employed, the government would help pay for it. He mentioned it by name, but I don't recall. Maybe FHA or DAP? It was also the reason why the bank refused to short sell the condo.
phil says a fan bought him the hori controller and phil is waiting on confirmation on a tracking order but he didn't remove it from the list, why? why not just remove it from the list and put it back up if they didn't actually buy it or some shit

I think it has a lot to do with not understanding the value of the dollar. You get so used to having money to buy whatever you want that you forget it is a finite resource and you end up outspending what you're making, even if you are still getting a substantial paycheck each month. I think it is more likely with someone who quickly becomes wealthy too, since they had a giant pile of money dumped on them instead of gradually earning more over time and naturally learning to adjust and budget based on that. Having a few successful months/years further blinds them and makes them think their cash train is forever infinite.
It is worse for Phil because he's naturally pretty impulsive with barely any self control to speak of and a complete inability to plan or look ahead into the future. Phil knows he has to pay taxes every year, but I can guarantee he waits until the absolute last minute to actually look at his finances and figure out how much he owes/how he is actually going to pay it. The way he talks about credit cards or his complete misunderstanding of a rainy day fund just further hammer it home.
I think that's part of what makes Phil such a fascinating cow. He continues to do everything wrong and never learns from his actions. It wouldn't even take that much to turn things around and greatly improve his life. Plenty of valid suggestions are constantly being thrown at him by both fans and detractors alike, but he consistently ignores them and somehow finds a way to sink even lower and make things worse for himself. I know it gets said a lot, but there's no denying that Phil really is his own worst enemy.
It's easier than you think. It's happened to me. Making pretty far into 6 figures, ended up losing everything. Bad timing. Living in the DC area, getting a new job, using savings to buy new furniture since I wasn't consulting and on the road all the time, then new job ends because the company suddenly closed their doors.
Happens really fast. Not to mention how fucking expensive northern VA/DC/MD area is.
During his SMM2 stream he went on quite the bit about that Hori controller and how the Pro controller's D-pad is trash. Now I don't have a switch so I have no clue, but looking at the reviews for the far cheaper Hori controller I see a few people saying the d-pad is worse than the Pro's. Hori has a good reputation, but this D-pad looks suspicious (one of the features is that it can come off and you can play with the d-buttons underneath). Would love to hear from someone who has a Pro or who has this Hori pad.
I don't have that Hori pad but I have a Smash Pro Controller and while it’s not a perfect D-pad, they fixed most of the egregious problems people complained about on the OG Pro Controllers. Basically the D-pad isn’t a classic D-pad it’s more of a nub with the plus shape on top of it, so it could be improved. But it’s better than Microsoft’s controller and while the DualShock 4 is the best of the main 3 controllers with that right now, even it pales in comparison to the old days on Nintendo and Sega.
If it’s that important to him, he should try the JoyCon in the grips, the four buttons work really well for 2D I put, and if he’s going to splurge, get one of the 8Bitdo retro style controllers and an adapter, but that’s completely unnecessary for the types of games he plays and how casual he plays.
Well funnily the JoyCons come with the system so he already has them, but since they came free I’m sure he thinks that buying a new controller is the obvious solution. Someone should ask him though; I bet we’d get a good rant about how his manly Italian hands are too big for the controller.

Right, but the company suddenly shutting down is beyond your control and it's not like you could have planned for that ahead of time, especially if it was only a few months into your time there. Dave, on the other hand, is his own employer and firmly in the driver's seat for every step. He's a lazy piece of shit who probably couldn't even balance a checkbook, let alone develop a budget that would allow him to comfortably live within his means.

I have a Pro controller and one of those Hori ones. The D-Pad complaints on the Pro are real, and mine is a little messed up. It's not the hugest deal for most games because usually you just use D-Pad for menus and things like that but I wouldn't play Tetris 99 with it. The Hori D-Pad works better in my opinion and it's very cheap. Only downside is it's not wireless (nice long cord though) and there's no gyro or rumble.
Related, I have drift issues on my left Joycon where it will assume a neutral position stick is actually pointing up very frequently, and it makes me think Nintendo has really fucked up the (normally excellent) quality control on their controllers. The Wii U pro controller handled like a dream compared to their Switch era stuff.

Phil has gone on record as saying he has smaller than normal hands. He also maintains that he does not have a micropenis. It's normal for young men to spend countless hours looking into the validity of enhancement pills and health risks associated with penile enlargement surgery.
What happens is they buy everything on credit. Then they are lazy and don't pay it off. When the money train stops they don't have the ability to pay off the credit.

Don't forget he also has 'super long arms' and 'always has', plus he still has all those muscles from when he 'used to lift so much he burst a blood vessel in his head' over a decade and a half ago but hasn't done '1 single push-up' since, "lookit mah forearms! See how big they still are?!"

Well this first physical item transaction is going well...
Dave, the classy fellah he is, instead of doing the thing he always preaches and contacting the donor behind the scenes went out of his way to call him out and prestream to proclaim that he's still missing the tracking info and the item has not been delivered yet.
His bootlicker, instead of telling him to go fuck himself, of course, spoonfed Dave the information that the item has been delivered already. Even sent DSP the tracking information. Now here's the kicker:
Instead of apologizing Dave went "How much you wanna bet it's sitting on my front porch instead of in my parcel box which is where they should put it?" He then spent the next solid minutes arguing with himself / the stream chat how he doesn't have to go check now because he isn't playing Mario today and how it can't get stolen because PRIVATE COMMUNITY.
How much you wanna bet he will be too busy (tm) on his dinner break to check? And Khet probably enters/exits the Goutmansion thru the garage so the box might sit out there for another 12 hours... This guy is absolutely insane. I am calling it now: he will claim the box has not shown up because he can't be fucked to check with whatever office/entity that manages the mail/parcel boxes.
