If you ever want to see a shitshow on Wikipedia, look at the editing wars that happen over people's nationalities/citizenship.
When singer Tina Turner relinquished her American citizenship to become a Swiss citizen, which IMO seemed to be for tax purposes, there was lots of debate over whether or not she should be described as being "American", "American-Swiss" or an "American-born Swiss" person in the lead. Eventually they decided to describe her as being an "American-born Swiss" which basically contradicted Wiki guidelines about how "Previous nationalities shouldn't be mentioned unless they're relevant to the subjects notability", and in this case she was most known as an American singer.
A similar case happened with Liu Yifei, who only possesses American citizenship because China doesn't recognize any dual citizenship. So she should've been described as being a "American-born Chinese" but this caused arguments because of Wiki's policies on previous nationalities. So she was eventually described as "Chinese-American", and contradicted the situation with Tina Turner. I'm not even sure why Wikipedia has guidelines if they're always throwing them out because of "user consensus".
And then when actor Max con Sydow died, there were people constantly changing his page because he relinquished his Swedish citizenship to become a French citizen in 2002. And so far, there seems to be no consensus on any discussion, so he's only "Swedish" in the lede.
