Dumb Shit on Wikipedia

I'm primarily on Wikipedia to make things sound less shitty, but holy shit, someone's bias is clear as day with these two bozos. Orangemike is also an admin.

Wiki diff for it.

"Orangemike" is a name I've not heard before - he seems to be focused on Wisconsin topics so I assume he lives there - but that is an usually strong meltdown even for that crowd. Usually they pull passive aggressive parsing and pretend that their progressivism is 'neutral' because its the tone WaPo uses. Wikipedia has a strict criteria about what can be called 'murder' so thankfully Mike wont be able to get away with calling it that off of his talk page.

Madonna, the most important figure in the world. Also, Hitler.

Madonna has been called an "icon" in many fields where she received a great treatment of analysis such as feminist, sexual, queer or gender studies largely derived from the Madonna studies. Associate professor Diane Pecknold documented in American Icons (2006) that "the fact that not only her work but her person was open to multiple interpretations contributed to the rise of Madonna studies".[33] Rolling Stone staff commented that "she is a living icon not just for her contrivances" but she "as idea, example, archetype exits simultaneously with the real woman".[34]
As some critics found that Madonna has proved a master of cultural appropriation,[183] professor of sociology and author David Chaney documented in his book The Cultural Turn (1994) that "for many political activists, the more unsettling implication is that Madonna has destabilised fundamental signs of subcultural membership. Even if her stardom is now exhausted". He further asserted that "the possibility of her existence" (as with other figures) is that "all marks of identity are arbitrary, then any form of being becomes pastiche".[240] Sociologist John Shepherd wrote that Madonna's cultural practices highlight the "sadly continuing social realities of dominance and subordination".[241] Educator John R. Silber lumped Madonna with Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein.[242]

His name sounded vaguely familiar so I went and checked some of his edits. He's a scifi consoomer, generic Blue Team shitlib, and a male feminist. A completely unremarkable janitor to be sure. And I still don't know which article he edited that I saw him on, because he jannies 100s of pages per day.

The Pareto principle is racist and deboonked.
However, this principle has proven false in practice, as over 90% of citizens victimized by stop and frisk policies were found not to have committed any crime[citation needed]. The principle was erroneously applied, and instead residents were targeted by race, having little impact on crime[citation needed]. Improved economies overall have had a far greater correlation with lowering crime rates[citation needed].

How dare you suggest there are Tankies amongst the editors. DELETE THIS NOW.

Jesus this is profoundly dumb, I would say however that if the commies are seething so hard about this, I would support a mass killing under 20th century authoritarian regimes article as that's been a common topic of historical discussion and maybe have a header discussing the how's and whys the 20th century was so drenched in blood.

The doomer page on Wikipedia is really weird. If you didn't know anything about what a doomer is, Wikipedia would have you believe it has something to do with... climate change and peak oil, of all things?

Also, the wojak they drew for the article looks like a thalidomide baby and I don't know why they didn't just paste a normal picture in.

What's interesting is that there is no conversation about the opposite article. Everybody agrees that killings by anti-communist regimes is fine

Today I made the mistake of reading the article for RapeLay.

If you've never heard of it, it's a Japanese porn game where you stalk and rape a mother and her two underaged daughters. It's disturbing even by hentai standards, and garnered a lot of notoriety when it was new.

So, naturally, Wikipedia goes into detail about the events throughout the entire game, and even includes instructions on how to unlock a secret ending:

And then we have the Talk page. I can't believe nobody's ever archived it, so here you go. It's covered with all kinds of sperging over the years, but here are some highlights:

First off, we've got a guy sperging about Iceland, because apparently it's banned there:

Here's a guy who just straight up wants more of this kinda shit:

According to Wikipedia user FreshPrinceOfBrighouse, a game about stalking, raping, and enslaving a mother and two children is comparable to over-the-top violence in first-person shooters, and it's all just a matter of what's considered socially acceptable.

Does anyone still believe in peak oil? I remember ~2003 every scientist and talking head on the news was convinced we were going to run out of oil by 2010 and we'd be killing each other for a gallon of gas. Then we figured how to refine tar sands and now we have cheaper gas then 2003 as well as enough oil for the next century within the US and Canada. Doomers don't understand how science can progress quickly when there's economic pressure to do so.

We might never even see "peak oil" in any conceivable future because of the natural hydrocarbon (largely natural gas) production inherent in the geological cycle and how that influences oil production. The majority of profitable oil fields are of unknown size, and their upper limits are revised up almost yearly. Petroleum's cost is a product of OPEC and their feud with other powers more than it is the resource's actual scarcity.

I remember in 2006 stumbling across a guy who ran a peak oil website back when oil was first beginning its price spike I followed him off and on for the next few years, as shale oil started being a bigger and bigger price limiter with him getting increasingly desperate. Dude finally gave up and started to do astrology readings :story:
