Dumb Shit on Wikipedia

Today I encountered Wikipedia user ChrisGualtieri. Here is a list of all the Wikipedia pages that he has edited and sourced to the point where they are internally recognized as a good article:

As you can see, Chris Gualtieri has certain interests that have remained constant throughout the years: anime, bacon, historical landmarks in Connecticut, and 1910's silent cinema. In most cases, those 1910's film pages were created by him and there is really is no doubt that they are good pages. Even though most of them are lost films, they are very well researched and in every case extremely informative. I'm actually happy that someone is autistic enough to firmly record and research such a specific topic. He is undoubtedly an asset to Wikipedia's history of film. But he's also a Shin Megami Tensei dweeb who edited the page for Baconnaise fifty times, so it's hilarious.

I actually did a study on Madonna at college. It was part of my audio engineering course, we could pick a music star, with a mind to them being important to music. Most of the other faggots on the course just picked shitty metal bands to show how cool they were, I picked a hated pop star because I am a cunt who thinks he is far funnier than he is.

Anyway. Madge rose to fame because she represented a ideal version of the 80s woman. A whore, who loved to spend money, and had little talent other than showing her body. She did this for a few years, getting other people to write her music for her. She was actually one of the early success stories for manufactured pop music, something that seems normal today, but she was something of a trailblazer in that regard. The music biz changing from sending reps out to find "the next big thing" to "lets just make something ourselves". In the 90s however, she decided to make a power play and hold up her publisher for more money and better promotion. The demonic spawns of satan that they are, smacked the mouth wop into the shit, and as a parting gift also told radio stations that if they carried her, they would stop supporting them. Many people know of her woes with radio and TV not really pushing her, thats how it happened. She came back on her knees, something she was an expert at, and salvaged a bit of a legacy back by being the old bint they throw out now and again when they want to release a "best of" album for some easy cash.

As such, she is mostly viewed as a bit of a left over from the early days of Pop music as a genre. Her most interesting and funny period was the 90s, when she got Chris Cunningham to direct a video for her, and got some more gothy "adult" music to reband herself from pop princess to deep, personal woman of the world (Alannis copycat basically), and failed because she has very little talent and no one likes to work with her.

So in short, yes she is a washed up fucking gobshite who no one other than old whores care about.

Being the bored autist I am, I read the article that's used as the source for that dumbass line and quelle surprise, this is yet another example of complete and utter stupidity (and lying by implication) by an editor.

There are a number of problems with what the line is obviously trying to imply (that Ohio is viciously racist and is deliberately oppressing blacks by explicitly excluding them from owning or licensing legal marijuana dispensaries):
  • There are 58 dispensaries in the state, 9 of them minority-owned. That's 16%. Wikipedia's own page on race demographics in the US claims blacks are only 13% of the population. So what's the problem?
    • The total percentage of non-whites in the US is 40% according to the same page, but the linked article only mentions non-black minorities once in a throwaway remark. It focuses exclusively on the kind of "diversity" that really just means "blacks" (it's even in the headline). So that 13% figure seems more relevant here.
  • Since 16% is not 0%, the implication that Ohio is somehow excluding blacks from participating is a lie since not only are there black-owned dispensaries, but they're proportionate to the total population.
  • Despite looking really fucking hard, even the linked article's author admits there's no evidence of any actual discrimination against blacks trying to buy and operate dispensaries in Ohio (despite explicit evidence of discrimination in other industries in Ohio), and she further admits no study has been conducted to determine if there's any discrimination going on at all.
  • Not only is Ohio not "oppressing" blacks, the state was literally bound by law to grant 15% of its first-round licenses to blacks. Part of that law was subsequently struck down and so won't apply to a new round of license issuing, but they're using a lottery this time so it shouldn't end up any different in terms of demographics anyway.
  • Lawmakers and other grifters in the state are actively promoting black ownership of dispensaries and are trying to set up the usual anti-white environment for small business owners: tax breaks and reduced fees for blacks, with no such breaks for whites, just because whitey bad. They're also considering other measures, like requiring licensees to spend "a certain amount on minority vendors." Not a certain percentage or volume. A fixed minimum dollar amount. Sure hope those minority vendors don't decide to give their white customers a "special rate" of, say, <fixed minimum dollar amount> per ounce, since I doubt the state is interested in enforcing fixed pricing.
So back to the line in the Wikipedia article:
  • It's lying by omission.
  • It's got no relevance to the article (which doesn't mention race or discrimination anywhere else) and is essentially a throwaway line.
  • It cites an article that doesn't support the obvious implication the line is trying to make, and in fact indicates Ohio is going out of its way not to discriminate against blacks (even to the detriment of whites).
Despite these flaws, I think we all know that any attempt to remove the line as irrelevant and inaccurate will be met with fierce resistance, with anyone supporting its removal instantly being branded a racist white-supremacist nazi.

It's all so tiresome.

Pages like this are a virtue signal sink I think. People can go on and add a bunch of random gay people then notate it on their about page so others can see how "progressive" and "allied" they are.

And yet, Wikipedia is promoted by Google, so that it shows up at the top of most search results, so absolute bullshit from far-left autists is what you get as the top result.
