Dumb Shit on Wikipedia

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
...and then you say something that anyone who follows this thread already knows. A few of those prolific editors are named in this thread. What, if anything, are you thinking?
Providing context for the "DYK" shit because everyone including the person above is misinformed in how it works. It's literally just one retard. Half the blurbs are also wrong and there's a constant slapfight between the DYK autists and the accuracy autists when the DYK guys make clickbait (the whole thing is clickbait). Additionally, while this thread knows the site is moderated by a small cabal, I don't think most of you realize how few actual editors there are really, not just the ones that control things. Most of the complaints are about the admins or individual tranny editors

I mean, it's not very hard to realize how few editors there are since articles have mostly the same midwit writing style. I think a lot of users come to the website for like a few minutes to have a slapfight about a mistake on a page and leave (which they WILL lose because no one dares to win against the most scientifically proven fact checked encyclopedia on the internet), but the tranny cabal remains.

There used to be a lot more. A lot have been driven off. And a lot of us actually do know some of the internals. I even personally know a couple people who used to be on the ArbCom.

From today's front page. The British Museum used to have a NSFW section because some dude donated 434 dongs.

British Library also has a huge collection of 19th century porn because the porn-addict Henry Spencer Ashbee donated his books to it with the stipulation that they must keep the porn alongside the books the library actually wanted. (He was also a self-taught authority on the illustrations of Don Quixote and had a bunch of rare editions.) The library still destroyed as much of his porn collection as they could get away with.

what no one here or anywhere seems to get about wikipedia the vast majority of content is mostly written by a very small group of people perhaps a few thousand. it's not just these people controlling the rest, these are mostly the only people who contribute more than a few times.

this goes more for the main page which for DYK is supposed to showcase new content, new articles that were written. if you see the same topic show up again and again on DYK, it is one hundred times outta ten because there is just one devoted autist who is making tons of articles on the thing. this is the case with the african abortion nonsense. it isn't a cabal, it's just an individual autist.

who is our culprit, then? user vigilantcosmicpenguin.
The DYK section is a common target for paid editors and PR campaigns too. Like it used to have a lot of Gibraltar spam, which was because that territory's tourism department paid for it.

Just a random interaction I came across: A tranny trying to school ESL pajeet trying to make an article about his mudhut village and proceeds to call him a dude, making the wikipedo mad.

Who's willing to take one for the team and venture into this hellhole: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Discord
It would be funny if someone imitated a Pajeet/third worlder to try and argue with Wikitroons and commit shocking violence like misgendering against them.

Just checked out the Wikipedia page on the Kalgeri Plan after being reminded of it due to some other stuff and I fucking love how it is pretty much a miniature version of their Cultural Marxism page.

They can't admit that Kalergi said that quote and how fucking creepy and weird it sounds, and the rush to paint it as a conspiracy theory is so desperate that it really comes across as a "The wicked flee when no man pursueth". Talk page even has people pointing out that the article conflates the mere existence of the quote with existence of a conspiracy, and that the page is so worried about DEBOONKING the claims they can't even properly explain what they are talking about to the point that if you didn't already know about the deep lore you would be massively confused about it.

I read the entire (short) article, and I don't see any debunking going on. The only dispute seems to be whether or not it was a 'plan' (do proponents of the 'theory' even claim this?) There is no question he said it, and that was his view of the future.

They fully admit he said it. There is no debunking. What they claim the conspiracy is that Kalegri intended to change European immigration policies to allow in mass amounts of non whites to erase European identity which I'm sure he would have if he had the power to.

A minor scandal seems to be brewing as the page for "Muslim grooming gangs in the UK" was deleted and moved to a page titled "Grooming gang moral panic in the United Kingdom" on September 3rd and Twitter/X commentators Keith Woods and Jack Anderton each made drawing tweets attention to the change today followed by a GB News article.

Why the change? Well, you can revisit the archived internal debate about it here. Or read the reasoning for the final verdict in the attached image.

The aforementioned Jack Anderton has also focused on the Wikipedia User Sceptre, calling them responsible for the move and pointing out that they are a Lib Dem activist and self-describe as "trans, feminist, atheist, and progressive-minded student".

Follow the renewed debate on the talk page of the current article.

EDIT: Apparently Sceptre already has a Kiwifarms thread. Discuss here.

I really didn’t want to know this.

They seriously argue that being fat is fine and its stigma against being fat that causes health issues in the source article and Wikipedia thought this is something they should have on the front page.
Why are scholars and activists given more credence than doctors and nutritionists? It’s not diet culture’s fault if you’re 400 pounds and drop dead of a heart attack at 45.
