Humility may be the most difficult virtue to learn and maintain. As a society, we reward arrogance and "attitude"; and our heroes tend to be loud and brash sports figures, millionaire developers, movie stars, and the like [...] [5]

It would also appear that Marshall foresaw the future prominence of Donald J. Trump in his book The Lakota Way: Stories and Lessons for Living (2002), where he says:
Half of this shit is "chinese businesses saw a reduction in customers", as if they're uniquely affected by everyone staying home.
I should've expected this.

I like this name change proposal betterThe Spanish Flu page is likewise becoming a pitched ideological battleground over people butthurt with CURRENT YEAR gripes about people accurately identifying China's novel coronavirus, that they have unleashed upon the world through their treachery and ineptitude, as Chinese.
Some twat proposed moving the entire page to "1918 influenza epidemic" just so people on twitter can't say "Spanish Flu, checkmate athiest" anymore. The commie botnet on twitter is seething extra hard this week.
I wonder how many of them are Chinese buffets. People would be entirely reasonable to stay away from Chinese buffets, not because they're Chinese, but literally just because they're buffets.
I ate at one that made sushi once. Then I walked over to the counter it was made at, the salmon and shrimp they were using to make it came from Walmart. But the best one I found (but never ate at) was in an expensive part of the city full of trendy restaurants and shops. Place was always almost totally empty and had terrible reviews on Yelp. Yet it stayed open, year after year after year. There is no way that place is a legitimate business. Those places are abosultley nasty (rat problems and leaving food out for days at a time) and often fronts for criminal activity. One near me was involved in human trafficking
Restaurants are one of the best ways to launder money. The place is empty, but you print out receipts for 100 customers a night, and you're golden.Place was always almost totally empty and had terrible reviews on Yelp. Amy's Baking Company stayed up for ages even though it wasn't a money laundering front, somehow. The best money laundering fronts are cash only businesses particularly where that is not suspicious by itself. Restaurants, laundromats, arcades (when those existed), that kind of thing. Restaurants are almost so good for this that they're bad for this because you just see a shitty restaurant and the first thought is money laundering because why would this shitty place even exist otherwise?
The trouble is, this kind of stuff really defies description, so there’s no way this page was going to work out. It’s like explaining the punchline of a joke. Once you explain it, it stops being funny.View attachment 1195873
This is as if an alien was trying to explain the concept of memes and shitposting.
The article needs a "Notable examples" section with a link to itself.View attachment 1195873
