Dumb Shit on Wikipedia

There is a whole fucking article for that Drumpf episode the retarded Brit did. 2,936 words.

That ought to be in the hall of fame of worst forced memes of all time, I am perfectly happy to give libs credit when they do something actually funny, but this was painfully unfunny the second it aired. And it's not even accurate, his family surname didn't have a fixed spelling for centuries and his grandfather appears to never have had the variant with the D spelling.

As far as it relates to Wikipedia, was the whole thing worth more than a paragraph on the 'Family of Donald Trump' page (which considering its genealogy of a President, is probably justified)? This just again reflects the nerd-loser bias of Wikipedia, entire articles for single episodes of nerd favorite shows. A few pages ago I posted a lame 2006 time capsule article wikipedos made for Colbert appearing at the White House Correspondence Dinner, and the entire site is littered with even worse examples (remember the forced meme of 'Santorum' as a sexually explicit verb?).

My favorite area of Wikipedia is any article related to a third world country that speaks English like Nigeria. Nigerians speak english as an official language but have a certain bluntness and affect that I am fond of. They write and speak the Queen's language in a colorful and descriptive way that's a breath of fresh air compared to the overly passive fake impartiality that is enforced by Wikipedians.

Here are some examples of fantastic Nigerian Wikipedia articles.

Eddy Nawgu (born Edward Onyebuchi Okeke) was a dreaded Nigerian sorcerer and occultist.[1][2] He bore several sobriquets throughout his life time but was predominantly known in the mid-1990s as "Eddy Nawgu" alternatively spelt also as “Eddie Nawgu” amongst the igbo speaking people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.[3] His other notable sobriquet "Eddy na Nawgu" which when translated to the English language meant “Eddy in Nawgu” came about because he was from the Nawgu community, a town situated in the Dunukofia LGA of Anambra State, Nigeria.

...

The capture of Eddy Nawgu was indeed difficult because the self-proclaimed prophet was, as reported by the Nigerian media, a sorcerer[16][6] who allegedly could defy the rules of Physics and had the ability to teleport that is he supposedly could instantaneously move from a point A to a point B regardless of distance. As a result of this, his apprehension was tagged the most difficult for the vigilante group.[16] Not until the intervention from their leader "Ngwuro" who managed to strip the sorcerer of his alleged mystic abilities were they able to finally capture the self-proclaimed prophet of God.

...

Eddy Nawgu, when apprehended on the 14th trial by the vigilante group, was taken to their base of operation for further questioning and interrogation.[6] His release to the Nigerian police was vehemently opposed as the Bakassi boys argued the police were very much corrupt and could easily be influenced.

High-profile government workers and officials allegedly interceded for the release of Eddy Nawgu as reported by the head of the vigilante group, Mr. Ngwuro; however, the names of the political figures and government officials interceding for his release were never published.[16][17]

During his stay as prisoner in the operation base of the Bakassi Boys he allegedly made startling confessions and acknowledged he was guilty of human sacrifice.[6] The number of people Eddy Nawgu killed according to his confession was a total of 93 persons.[19] He was eventually beheaded and had other parts of his body cut in little pieces by the Bakassi Boys after which all the parts were gathered together & set ablaze at the Ochanja Market in Anambra state, Nigeria.[20][16][8]

The Bakassi Boys are a group of Nigerian youth vigilantes known for their use of sorcery and dark magic,[1][2][3][4] or Juju as commonly used in the Nigerian slang, to curb crime more efficiently and ultimately eliminate all forms of vices in the south-eastern region of Nigeria, which according to the vigilante group includes robberies, ritual killings, kidnaping, and ironically even the practice of dark magic itself, as can be observed in the case of the charismatic Eddy Nawgu, an alleged false prophet and occultist whom they killed and beheaded.

The Bakassi Boys are usually armed with machetes and guns and an array of black magic artifacts and Juju worn around their body.[5] They operate in the Igbo area of Nigeria and have been accused of extrajudicial killings[6] of suspected petty thieves, armed robbers, ritual killers, murderers, corrupt persons, and generally anyone they considered evil.[7] The manner in which they knew or discovered if one was evil or not was by the use of dark magic in which they placed a magical silver-colored machete[8][3] on the chest of any suspicious person, and if the machete's color changed from silver to blood red it meant the person had committed a heinous crime at some point in their life, and invariably such a person would be killed immediately.

In the south-eastern part of Nigeria, especially Anambra State, they still enjoy popular support in the areas where they operate because the vices in the region have been greatly reduced since the inception of the vigilante group in 1998.[9] According to publications by various Nigerian media houses, their greatest metaphysical power was their ability to be immune to gunshot wounds;[1][10][11] even when shot multiple times at close range, they wouldn't flinch nor sustain any injuries. This metaphysical power was referred to as Odeshi amongst the Igbo people of Nigeria.[12] Odeshi is an Igbo word that means "It does not leak" or "it would not leak",[13] which meant if anyone shot them with a gun it wouldn't pierce their skins hence their blood would not leak.

The Bakassi Boys have since 2004 rebranded as Anambra Vigilante Services (AVS), Imo Vigilante Services (IVS) and Abia Vigilante Services (AVS)[14] and have had their activities reduced significantly.[15]

Confraternities in Nigeria are secret-society like student groups within higher education that have recently been involved in illegal and violent activities. The exact death toll of confraternity activities is unclear. One estimate in 2002 was that 250 people had been killed in campus cult-related murders in the previous decade,[1] while the Exam Ethics Project lobby group estimated that 115 students and teachers had been killed between 1993 and 2019.[2]

After reading that I am now convinced that tweet about superpowered black DNA is 100% correct, and the problem is just that black Americans and other non-Africans have too much white ancestry.

The virgin African-American hates the white man for devolving him from the chad Nigerian.

The more I hear people use the term “DRUMPF” unironically, the more I steadfastly believe that there should be a law that people like this are not allowed to vote.
Universal suffrage was a mistake. We should at least permit only net taxpayers vote, and even then have them take a test to see if they actually know the people on the ballot's political stances.

There's a separate article for every King of the Hill character full of TV Tropes level sperging.
View attachment 2119612
The rest of the article is the same.
On a tangent, there's a Wikipedia policy on how to order film and television credits and how to describe the characters role in the plot which states:

"All names should be referred to as credited, or by common name supported by a reliable source. If roles are described outside of the plot summary, keep such descriptions concise. Interpretations in the form of labels (e.g. protagonist, antagonist, villain, main character) should be avoided. A well-written plot summary should convey such roles."

It seems like this "policy" states that you should avoid "describing" a film's characters as being a "main character" or "protagonist" and other terminology. But given the descriptions I've seen in the past, I guess all you need is someone to sperg out on a page and correct everything.

A long time ago, they culled alot of fan cruft from wikipedia and much of that moved over to fandom/wikia (fan wikis were probably the right solution, just not the cancer that is Wikia with its 5 billion ads per page), but instead TVTropes style sperging for pop culture seems to be getting worse in its place, I am seeing more and more of those psychoanalyzing 'analysis' sections popping up for random episodes.

I'm sure a lot of the ficitional character descriptions and "TVTropes style sperging for pop culture" is breaking quite a few of Wikipedia's own policies (I believe there's one specifically about trivial/over done information), but when your average "respected" Wikipedia user puts banners like this on their user page, is it any wonder that this stuff is getting out of hand?

Wikipedia covers a non-binary author using the author's own 'fae/faer' pronouns. I suppose it was only a matter of time.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rivers_Solomon (archive)

Slight update on the Rivers Solomon article: her faer their(?) Twitter bio, which until now served as the "source" for the pronouns used in the article, no longer contains any references to pronouns. Let's see how long it takes for Wikipedia to catch up, or if anyone else cites it in the meantime.

@Ntwadumela pls confirm.
If that is true than Haitian Mud Cookies are officially second to last on my list of things to never consume.

What the hell even is Faer? It sounds like some old Celtic god or something. Can I just say my pronouns are random shit and this crowd will follow along with it?

Even as someone who is interested in goroawase (Japanese number wordplay, similar to old pager codes), I find the amount of really specific examples and trivia on this page a bit much.

here’s one I think is actually a helpful example:
26 can be read as "fu-ro" (風呂), meaning "bath". Public baths in Japanhave reduced entry fees on the 26th day of every month.
but some of these are ridiculously autistic. A few highlights:

An obscure license plate referenced in a manga that ended almost a decade ago:
37564 can be read as "mi-na-go-ro-shi" (みなごろし), meaning massacre, or kill them all. This is referenced in Initial D where Rin Hojo's car has this number plate, befitting his nickname of "Shinigami", in English,

I don’t even know what this means, it sounds like advertising:
616 can be read as "ro-i-ro" or "lowiro", the name of a video game company which produced the rhythm game Arcaea. The two main partners in the game, Hikari and Tairitsu, can be added as friends through the account system. They have no song records and a potential value of 6.16. Ayu, a limited-availability partner, can also give the user 616 fragments with her ability that gives a random number of fragments after a play.

citation needed (tm):
819 can be read as "ha-i-kyū" (排球), meaning volleyball. The community around the series Haikyu!!, an anime television series produced by Production I.G, considers August 19(8/19) to be "Haikyu!! Day".

archive, because it seems like a page someone could actually clean up at some point.

This guy literally makes money from injecting woke shit into Wikipedia articles (and instructing others on how to do so) but has an ethics page on his website declaring that the kind of shit he does himself is unethical, but another page explaining that it's OK to write propaganda if it's for what he considers worthwhile reasons:
His completely unbiased and reasonable take on recent events where a driver had guns pointed at him by "demonstrators" blocking the street, had his vehicle attacked, got out of his vehicle with a gun and was then was hospitalized after the mob beat him at gunpoint (by "these guys" he's referring to the armed "security" that was there to protect the "demonstrators"):

What actually happened:

What did that senator do that was Controversial? Oppose abolition? I am sure the natives dindu nuffin to initiate that massacre as well.
Mitchell, among others, were indicted while still in office for frauding incoming settlers' land grants in the Oregon territory.

really, not a big deal, but the author likely took pleasure in editing his bio solely because Chad threw him in a locker in highschool.

I checked he also got accused of bigamy by his peers but that got thrown out. As for the massacre, natives killed white devils giving them medicine, yet this faggot tweeted about it like it was Wounded Knee.
