Dune Part 2 is (one of) the best Sci-Fi i ever watched.

Lynch did it better.
Agreed.

Is it really that much better than Part I? Haven't read the book, but I got the impression from watching Lynch's that he had to omit quite a bit from the later parts of the book.

Hard to say, it's a worthy followup regardless. Anyone saying part one was boring cannot say the og blade runner was not boring lol. Back to the flick:

  • Pacing is really weird and is the only hangup to the movie. Last quarter of the movie should've been in the middle and just stretched out. A lot of the conflicts end in a marvel-esque way where it just feels underwhelming.
  • Lots of stuff cut out from the book, but it's a movie made to be appealing to everyone so I don't get too hung up on that.
  • Rautha should've been given more screen time. Geidi Prime was a great showpiece.
  • A lot of time spent on building up Paul and his relationships with the Fremen. People saying part one was boring, well, I found this actually the least engaging part in comparison to all of part I.
  • 9 out of 10.
Regardless, worth seeing on the big screen.

Maybe its because OG Bladerunner was not boring?

Main problem was because by not following the book you got some strange story beats. In the book Paul drinks the Water of Life and nearly dies because he is prompted to increase his powers of premonition due to a failed attack by Gurney Halleck, but in the film, he drinks it just because??? Little things like that didn't need to happen.

Your standards have to be ultra shit if you think any Sci-Fi movie (let alone an inferior adaptation) from the 2020s is better than Sci-Fi from the 1980s-2000s. I've yet to see a story that even surpasses 2001: A Space Odyssey.

You are completly delusional and retarded, holy mother of God, i have yet to see a shitter take this year like fucking goddamn. The 2001 part is truth but everything else is pure shit, its so fucking shit that if your comment took a physical form, it would a entire fucking landfill of shit the size of Africa, it would be so much shit if you light a match near, the sheer quantities of methane alone would be enough to cause a whole explosion that would reach the goddamn sun, and then the sun would gain 10x its mass and instantly go into Supernova, which would be enough to destroy to whole fucking universe. Your comment alone is the most dangerous weapon of mass destruction this world has ever seen and UN should immediately put into containment, locked behind 7 bajillion keys, if this falls on wrong hands, the person who possess it would have the power to blackmail the whole world into submission, and the creator of this WMD, you, would be forever known as "The Ape that Forgot to Evolve"
