E-shop version of Pokemon Sword/Shield allegedly deleting all the save data on OTHER games - They didn't just delete a bunch of Pokemon, they are deleting your save files too

To be fair between tards triggered because GameFreak won't let them transfer their shiny Sentret to this edition and people legitimately miffed that they got raped by GFs shitty coding I doubt that the user score actually is indicative of the quality of the game when it isn't eating saves.

I've actually been following the pokedrama for a while because this shit is hilarious. My conclusions are thus:

Game Freak could literally sic the Yakuza on one of these fags, have them beat him to within an inch of his life, and then waterboard him just for fun, and he'd still buy the game and he'd defend it saying 'ah, those teeth didn't really matter to me.' These people are consumerist terminators, and nothing can stop them from consuming product and getting excited for next product.

And yeah, it's easy to laugh at the spergs crying that they cut some random shitmon nobody cares about, but honestly I can't blame them. The franchise's main appeal is completing a giant list, and now the list is impossible to actually complete. They pretty much advertised to autists directly by playing into their love of lists, so they're gonna reap the REEEEEES when they come and I'm gonna laugh.

It's that and Pokemon itself hasn't really been exceptional at being a jrpg ever, I mean Gen 1-5 are good but they aren't to the level of the genre's contemporaries. Now you take away the one thing pokemon did have, the large roster, and replace it with the same barebones barely average JRPG thats short as hell and the possibility of a damaged switch and you get the shit show right now

I'm beginning to think mainline Pokemon game sales are the last of Game Freak and The Pokemon Company's worries. Physical merchandise can be manufactured and sold faster than a game and Pokemon Go has probably made them more money than the entirety of their mainline game sales to date. If revenue is their sole objective it doesn't make sense to invest much time into game development outside of Pokemon Go

They're just asserting their dominance. Gamefreak is saying "why would you even want to play other games when you can be playing pokemans." Also da fuq is up with that shield dog pokeman? I wanna go into the pokeman world and try to crossbreed it with that ice cream cone looking motherfucker to see what kind of eldrich horror they will produce. I also wanna slap the Jap they pay to come up with these things. He's been phoning it in since the 90s.

This also kinda reminds of Pool of Radiance IIRC that had that wonderful bug back in the day where it would corrupt your C drive in retaliation for you trying to uninstall it.

repost from the other pokemon thread but people are starting to report it's not just digital copies now

So it looks like a Switch problem and not a Pokemon problem.

Basically, the Switch has had a shitty driver for a while, and while it does seem to be getting glitched by Pokemon more than previous games, it's still not a new problem. Also it isn't bricking games or saves, it is corrupting downloaded games on the SD card, but not saves. So if you encounter it, you'll have to download software again, but only permanent loss would be things like screenshots.

*leaves a salty sped bucket on the ground for all the negative ratings from people that don't care and just want to hate Sword/Shield*

I've also seen additional comments from people that it might corrupt digital games that you'll have to redownload but it's not deleting saves.

Honestly, everything surrounding Pokemon right now is like an autistic supernova so I don't trust anything I hear about it at this point. People want it to burn and there are people on the opposite side making excuses for Gamefreak's legit bullshit.

If you don't understand what he's saying, Pokemon accesses the system too much and crashes the game. Nintendo's shitty exFAT SD Card drivers corrupt the card on crash. If you formatted with the internal tool it'll be fine, and saves have never been at risk due to being internal to the system.

Well I got to admit my defeat here, pokemon games are not just the same games with different skins. This iteration seems to add a great gambling mechanic to spice things up. Well at least the players who got their data deleted can play the earlier and completely different pokemon games.

In my opinion(I can't start playing til after work, so impression might be better) it's a bog standard Pokemon game. Gamefreak was either too busy with Little Town Hero, fucked up importing the old models, or were just lazy. They then made the critical mistake(or if you believe the rumor that they realized too late they couldn't import all the old Pokemon in due to a software fuck up, they had fuck up blow up in their face) of paring a mediocre sequel with the inevitable Dexit. Plus horrible communication with the fanbase created a potent little tism storm.

Yeah really. Considering how the Switch has opened up the floodgates to all sorts of eShop garbage, I'm surprised it's a Pokemon game with which I'm first hearing about this.

I've bought some downright trash for less than a dime on the eShop just for shits and giggles and didn't have any problems.
