Will you miss E3?

And to no one's surprise, not a single shit has been given.
Even if E3 would be still up this year, it's gonna be the same typical corporate on-stage cringe (which I like to see because its the only thing that is entertaining) and shitty forced "follow, follow, follow, subscribe here, powered by Intel" advertisements circlejerk.
When even fucking Geoff Keighley refused to come, that's already a sign of how shit you've become.

Okay, I'm not a virologist of any degree but cancelling an event months out ahead of time because of an illness seems to jump the gun just a little bit. I'm going to agree with earlier sentiments that blaming it on the Coronavirus or CO-VID19 or whatever just give the ESA an out for having to go through with the dumpster fire everyone seems to realize that E3 2020 was going to be.

I am going to miss the annual Kiwi Farm E3 Potluck though. Was going to make my 7-layer dip and everything.

I just hope that random companies publish enough content on their own that we have a decent cringe compilation which is the only value derived from E3 in the past decade or so. The body is dead, but maybe the spirit will live on.

YOU BETTER GET READY TO DIE

was e3 ever good? I remember a lot of people saying e3 was going to just bow out back in 2007. back when a lot of companies were being pitched Nintendo direct-esque alternatives. Honestly if their last one was 2006, we probably would be nostalgic for it.

I do wonder if Nintendo will still do a big direct around June though. Same with other companies showing off games.
I remember back in 2013 when people were mad at Nintendo for holding a direct rather than an press conference for E3, and now a lot of people are saying it'd be more efficient for every company to hold digital events instead of live events.

I'll admit at first, nintendo streams were very laggy and poorly put together. But it didn't take them long to fix it and it was a execlient choice to make on their part. It's insane to me people paid hundreds of dollars just to see commercials on a big screen and maybe play a demo or 2 in the first place.

And now we also get them once every couple of months instead of once a year.

It's a much better choice from a business perspective, game droughts become less common.
I just like it because I can just hear the half hour direct..without the stupid Gamespot announcer frothing over something stupid. I remember a decade ago when all the Games Journalists hated that Nintendo didn't jerk off to online gaming or mobile gaming back then.

Shoving unprepared nerds in front of an audience used to getting slick shit from professional spokespeople was always hilarious.

Now everyone's gonna enjoy the lies from the comfort of their home.

Hopefully we won't get an audience of shills at these direct streams from the big names.

Yes back in the 90s it was actually pretty neat
Also it was even better when it was called a part of the CES (Consumer Electronic Show)

Then again this could be because there were fewer people on the internet and it was much harder to get this information out to people. Most people lacked the bandwidth to watch videos) let alone stream them back then and this sort of thing was only very briefly covered on the news if at all.
These days everyone just watches it on the official sites, youtube, or twitch.

Apparently the next Batman game was going to be announced at E3, so. I'm pretty disappointed that we don't know what's going to happen with that now. I'll also miss Crowbcats E3 cringe videos. Otherwise I don't care at all. I'd say E3 peaked with the DMCV announcement, but that was the fucking game awards, wasn't it?

Shit man, I was looking forward to a Half Life 2.5 mobile game with a spinoff card game tie-in.
