Why? if anything the best E3 were 1995 (the first), 2000 (dreamcast at its peak, ps2 shows up, etc) and 2004 (nds, psp, hl2, gtasa, doom3, all the other great games that were released that year)

Japan Studio also served two functions, both in publishing and developing capacity, it was basically a traffic hub where japanese third-parties (such as Team Ico and Millennium Kitchen) were contacted into game projects for SIE.

Also the gaijin who was put in charge of Japan Studio last year, and now head of Asobi, is a clown with barely any history at the company aside from the Astro Bot games. There is a recent blog article from the official website where Doucet spouted the most globohomo commentary about his studio and future objectives:

It really pisses me off because there was a rumor that Japan studio was working on a Silent Hill revival, which would have reunited the series with it's original creator.

But with the closure it seems like it wasn't true after all.

The good old days of gaming are something that simultaneously feel just yesterday and also feel like forever ago.

This used to be such a beautifully vibrant hobby and culture, then the hipster faggots and the politics they brought along with them around a decade ago ruined all of that, gaming was best when it was popular enough but still a niche.

Why? if anything the best E3 were 1995 (the first), 2000 (dreamcast at its peak, ps2 shows up, etc) and 2004 (nds, psp, hl2, gtasa, doom3, all the other great games that were released that year)

The debut of Half Life 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 just blew my ass the fuck away, but I'm also biased because thanks to X-Play E3 2003 was the first time I got to see actual footage of the trailers and the show itself instead of just looking at pictures in a magazine.

Nothing about E3 2004 stands out super well in my memory other than the infamous Twilight Princess debut trailer, which was a thing of beauty, shame the actual game didn't live up to it.

But after the macross deal was finalized Sony stood to benefit from both parties coming to the table and they've had the rights to a macross movie, merch, and media releases for eons at this point and all they've been able to do is sit on them and do nothing major with them due to the legal issues that plagued the IP. So since Macross can now be allowed to make money in other areas of the world now, people put two and two together.

No I just mean 600 dollars for anything new when it comes to gaming hardware.

Every new piece of hardware be it PS5, Xbox, or PC are all in the thousands no matter what you want.

PS3 had a much weaker launch lineup and the releases that followed were not well received, it took like 3 years to get the system on the right track and only towards the end of it's life did it get the routine stream of good games that playstation was known for. It had a ton of HD remasters too, like the Sly Trilogy, Ratchet and Clank Trilogy, God of War Origins, God of War Duology, Tomb Raider Trilogy, etc.

Afrika is probably one of my favorite PS3 games, but they never made a second one. The closest could be Aquanaut's Holiday but that in itself was an HD remaster of the PS1 original. Also if you want to play it in english the Asian copy runs for a few hundred bucks while the Japanese copy(that doesn't have english) will only run you around 20 bucks.
