I dunno the translation for Fire Emblem Fates was the least of it's issues, the big issue with that was how they handled the content. Only the Special Edition had both games and all the DLC on the cart(of which only a small number were made). The Regular editions only had half the game on it without the DLC and if you bought the second cart it was incompatible with the first cart you got and only accepted the digital download version to bring your data forward.@ChefKiss beat me to it, and provided sources (which is more effort than I'd put in). The Opperation Rainfall debacle was NoA's doing.
My understanding at the time was that NoA wanted to be the Mario/Zelda/Pokemon company and anything outside of that would be resisted as much as possible, and half arsed if forced by Japan.
Now that I've mentioned it, I might as well address this.
Nintendo Treehouse is famous for butchering localisations. Usually to add memes that are outdated by the time the game comes out.

As for Fire Emblem. One character was re-written to be obsessed with pickles. I want to say a character, upon meeting their god and being in awe, was rewritten says "whats up!". There's a lot of examples, though I'm too lazy to read the blocks of text. Some of the cuts were woke, like removing the face touching mini game, but I don't know specifically woke changes to Fire Emblem beyond that, though I've heard of them.
The game was butchered in more ways than one, I still have not gotten it due to how they cut up the content and I was kind of hoping there would be a switch re-release.
