Apparently most people now need socialized medicine and socialized food. The USA is late 70s USSR style 'mature socialism'. I I was trying to ask on politics thread, go easy on me. Why is there TANF, WIC, SNAP, EBT? Why are there separate obamacare programs and medicaid? Why aren't these reconciled into 1 food program, one welfare program, and one low/zero income health program.

Edit: corrected my dumbass spelling mistakes, but c'mon, why so many damn programs that do that same fucking thing

The only reason anyone in this thread lacks a job is they are legitimately physically disabled (like, they have brittle bones or some shit) or they are LAZY. Even functional retards get jobs at local shops because they understand what money is. Are these people really lazier than literal retards?

Because if there's one program, it's easier to notice the abuse and stop it.

Inflation is that bad. I'm doing fine myself and will do fine in the future. The real issue is the lousy job market though. The fact is, I gotta compete with college grads for a job at Chipotle. Then I go in a week later and see who they hired and I feel even angrier I could've done the job better. Like, gtfo here hiring some bozo who should not be working here just because he's got better papers. Dude can't clean for shit, doesn't know how to fold a burrito at all. Doesn't know terms like verde, salso or blanco. Makes a mess of the whole setup. Frowns the whole time. Like I lost to this clown? The fuck is wrong with the employer? The fact is, the job's description is have a pulse, be able to lift significantly less than your body weight and be able to smile under pressure.

I did soup kitchens as a child, cleaned up inner city schools, helped stock food banks, cleaned numerous streets, I've been a chef my entire life. Even on my very limited budget I make gormet food out of what I've got every day. Then this nigger who can't even spell work gets in? It's tiring. I did more for niggers as a kid than that nigger did his entire life. Fucking disgraceful.

Those things are not mutually exclusive. Food has gone up along with other basic needs, and there are people out there that do not know to manage their money.

Probably why Elon threw a fit, I would too if I saw the shit he did, just on the outside you can see the 5x double agencies on stuff and the gov wants it that way yep. It's really sad, you COULD have a decent system that could have a nice safety net, but the powers don't want that, they want a whole class that'll just have enough not to kill them in a riot. They want a poor dependent underclass.

That may be true, but it doesnt make it less homosexual to join the military. Just get a normal job and contribute instead of being a government parasite.

I have a friend who has spent the last however many years in the military, and all they did was station him on an island and teach him how to disassemble and reassemble shit. His housing was off-base and paid for by the government, and he had decent enough internet to play games online in his free time. If you join the military you're basically a game piece to occupy territory, and since we're not actually at war with any countries you don't get to do anything interesting like get crippled by a landmine or stabbed by sticks smeared in shit. This is just a long way of agreeing with you. Joining the military really is just welfare with extra steps at this point. After he's done occupying space, he gets free college and benefits for life too.

Key point: safety net. Not a tent. Why should I have to support a demographic of people known to frequently make bad decisions?
 
Food won't be an issue, at least not in the cities. Soup kitchens and food banks easily have this covered. The real problem is that DHS employees might not get paid and SNAP recipients won't be able to trade their non-existent benefits for cash from the working class poor to buy smokes, liquor or weed. That's where the real pain will come from.

Even service members go on food stamps at times. Or at least they did during the Clinton years when the military was smaller and underfunded. They had to raise pay just to get people to join when Bush decided land wars in the muslim world is a good thing. I think I actually knew someone in my high school years whose family was poor because his E-5 dad had to support several kids. His Dad was abusive too and yes they were black.
