That said I won't be surprised if theres a last minute deal of some kind to prevent a bunch of idiots from doing something stupid come november 1. at my store you can always spot them, the cart is brimming, BULGING with shit, and its usually topped with crab legs, shrimp, lobsters, bags of chicken flats and drums, ect.
Niggas buy like 12-18 12 packs of cokes at a time, just a fucking mountain of shit.

I remember being behind this lady in the checkout line that and entire cart filled with 2 liter bottles of Pepsi. She might have taken the entire stock on the shelf the fill her cart. Paid for with EBT.
Another time, behind a couple that had tons of steak and few other bits of junk food, all paid with EBT.
And another time a very ghetto couple grabbing boxes of frozen crab legs. I didn't check out behind them but it was the first of the month.
My college roommate worked at a grocery store and he would have horror stories from the first of every month where the EBTers would basically clean out the store of all the steak, seafood, and doritos on the first week. All the while we're in college and eating rice and chicken 7 days of the week. He said it was very rare that people would actually buy staples with EBT.

This reminds of growing up in Redneckistan in a poor neighborhood and taking the school bus. The school district would hand out free food to kids for the weekend. There is nothing quite like watching another child eat a whole block of dry ramen, with the soup packet, on a single bus ride. Why did they do this? Because, otherwise, their shitbag uncle who lived with them would take it and, and all the other food in the bag, for himself and eat it.

I think EBT should only be valid for staples, but then what if its someone who works? Yes, everyone has time to load ingredients into a crockpot, but then you have to store, freeze, and clean up all this shit after and that's a big burden. So if some one has a job and wants to get frozen dinners/lunches I don't see any issues there. But you see on the first and 15th people loading up steaks, candy, chips, etc.

Agree that EBT should just be valid for staples, or better yet, just take the tax dollars and expand WIC which is a better program. There's a reason the laziest in our society are crying about EBT and not WIC. WIC only allows for recipients to buy actual nutritious ingredients.

WIC is also geared towards specifically benefitting children. I'm personally a bleeding heart who can't bring myself to let kids go hungry due to the inaction of their retarded parents.

I do disagree with you on the difficulty of cooking though. Basic spaghetti or stir fry can be made cheaply for a crowd in under 30 minutes, and if you've really had a day you can do sandwiches. It's okay if food is sometimes just fuel.

My go to struggle meal from when I was broke and working a soul sucking retail job: baked potato with minced frozen broccoli, shredded cheese, and a big dollop of plain greek yogurt for protein. I would make the potatoes in a big batch at the start of the week so it was nearly effortless and very cheap.

The reason why I snap exists is because people would spend their money on shit food. It's not to say they don't (they do, there's literally no excuse why you cannot eat healthy food on snap, it's cheaper and better). Prior to food stamps people would spend their money on instant food and that sort of stuff. Learn what your states EBT card looks like, then when you go to the grocery store, see what people buy with said EBT. Most of the time it's not healthy food. And we're not talking about a box of Pop-Tarts here or a (cold) rotisserie chicken there. We're talking about hundreds of dollars of just garbage food. Nutritionally garbage, food and then they complain that they can't cook.

Was at the convenience store ghe other day. Saw some keeds buy 60 dollars worth of soda, red bull, chips and cookies with an EBT card.

I only just got approved for basically nothing in Food Stamps in PA. Im curious to see how the people who take advantage of the system are going to chimp out over this. I work and go to school yet only get 30 dollars in Food Stamps. Grateful to have been approved, but not sure how Sally Mae and her 9 kids get more when she's unemployed and selling most of that for dope on the corner.

My mom was unable to work due to actual PTSD and other mental conditions and only received $20 a month, while I would see 400lb shaneequas filling up $700 worth of junk food and microwave food in their shopping carts.

if you have inventory now, you want to sell it now. under an actual free market then yes, the oversupply of grain might have resulted in more meat production because the cost of feed might have dropped enough but that's why people lobby the government, so they can make millions the easy way instead.
