I just live in an area that's redlined to fuck.

The cost of living in America, 95% of the time, comes down to 2 things:

1) The distance between you and the things you want go to (groceries, work, amenities, entertainment, transit, etc...)
2) The distance between you and groids.

That's about it. You want to find a place that's cheap and close to the things you want? Sure, but it'll be infested with niggers. You want a place that's cheap and free from groids? Have fun with that longass commute from the exurbs. You want a place that's close to the things you want AND is free from groids? That'll be $1M please.

And people pay for it. My town abuts right up against a 88% black area to the east. My town is 7% black. There is a single 4 lane road that acts as the dividing line between my area and the zoo to the east. You can literally watch the property values increase the further west you go, away from the niggers. People are willing to pay an extra $200K just to put another few blocks in between them and the nignogs.

That said, I generally agree with you, but for people who are severely disabled, I hardly see the harm in allowing someone a soda. I don't particularly get the big problem people have, considering the money's going to get spent regardless. Although I do agree, people should be making healthy choices and buy things that are actually good them.

These people don’t get “a” soda. It’s a staple of their diet and then they end up getting diabetes and heart disease, and then we get to pay for their medical expenses.

Oh, also we subsidized the corn farmers to grow the toxic bullshit in the first place. And then subsidies to spray the corn with poisons that give us all cancer.

My Dad is an 100% disabled veteran. I shit you not, collecting VA disability generally disqualifies most severely disabled veterans from SNAP benefits, due to the 100% VA disability being considered "too much income" (ha!) to qualify.

I think that in a lot of cases we're even being too lenient with the "disabled".
Way too often I see evidence of 100% disabled people just being someone with tinnitus or a person being chronically fatigued as if other people don't get tired.
The brother of my grandfather was born without arms because of thalidomide usage during pregnancy, he just had two hands with missing fingers directly attached to his shoulders. Worked 50 years as a carpenter.
 
I've been broke enough to have been able to qualify for EBT but never wanted it out of principle. A lot of times I felt like I was shooting myself in the foot with that mindset, but I wanted to stay motivated to make more and having EBT may have gotten in the way of that. Plus, the type of food that EBT usually gets you fucking sucks and would have probably made me okay with being lazy anyways.

Can't say I'm too worried about the people that genuinely need assistance because if they're decent well-meaning people down on their luck like some are claiming, they'll have others around to help take care of them. Or they'll find a way to tough it out. If someone has zero friends, family or community to help them in their time of need then it's probably because they deserve to suffer. The world isn't THAT cruel, there are still going to other avenues to help out those that deserve help. Everyone else? Literally eat shit.

Exactly, they dont get (let's just say) a 16.oz bottle of coke or Pepsi. They're the type who go to a big box store and buy the 36 pack of 12 Oz cans of soda, or multiple 2 litre bottles of soda.
They'll get the party size bags of chips, huge bags of candies, those big blocks of deli government cheese, multiple bags of rotisserie chickens, big fucking watermelons, and if they're a smoker, multiple boxes of Newport 100s
