Literally everyone on the planet becomes disabled at some point, it just depends on when. Some people get unlucky and it happens earlier than age related disease fucks you up. SSDI benefits are calculated based on the amount of work credits accrued before becoming disabled. Hope everyone who disagrees has a fat retirement savings (and that the market doesn’t crash before you need it), but I’m betting most who post on KIwifarms don’t.

Edit: fuck giving people soda and snacks AND RESTAURANT FOOD though. Staples all the way.

That shows how little thought redditors put into scenarios like that. The majority of people on EBT are either physically unable to work for whatever reason or are lazy fucks scamming the system. Most of the rest are temporarily on it cause of job losses and things of that nature and go off it when they get back on their feet

In other words the demographic least likely to ever engage in anything resembling a revolution. a revolution involves alot of work and putting your ass on the line. The temp welfare recipients don't want any part of that cause their lives are on track and the others are either too incapacitated or too lazy to get get jobs. If they can't do that they're sure as shit not going to be launching any revolutions

Its worth pointing out here that as far as the welfare system under bismarck goes the average worker when they got to retirement age and started taking advantage of it only had an average lifespan of about 5 years post retirement so they weren't really on it for that long as it was more about serving as the reward of a dignified end of your life in exchange for a life of pretty harsh labor, in contrast to the workhouse system many other countries had that let its seniors rot in awful conditions in the workhouses working until the day they died at some tedious and demeaning bullshit work or until they were too sick and infirm to do anything. The US system doesn't really have the same mentality behind it or work that way in practical terms, people just want the gibs as soon as possible while doing as little as possible for them

The problems on indian reservations are almost entirely caused by the indians themselves. They get a shitload of money and resources from the government and squander it all. The chief and higher ups embezzle it all and everybody else lives in poverty. It'll never change no matter what the government does and the indians will just tell the government to fuck off and stop interfering in their shit. The only way for changes to happen in those places is for the people who live on those reservations to do something about it themselves and stop enabling the scumbags to keep fucking them over, which won't happen anytime soon. Remember these are people who half the time refuse to admit that they cause most of the problems the reservations have and keep churning out generations of alcoholics, whores and kiddie diddlers. Until that shit is addressed and dealt with nothing else will be. The problem with putting in good water, sewer, electrical systems and ISP access is that shit won't get maintained by the reservations and will be hell to get anybody from the government to do it. Like how lots of them demand housing, get housing and then tear said houses apart the first winter they're in them for firewood while spending any money they were given for firewood on booze or trading firewood they were provided with for it

You can't help people who don't want to be helped. Its the same mentality that keeps the US having such a high homeless population

I always imagined EBT being structured like an MMO reward system.

last night I had a dream where people were given tasks by the state to earn EBT.
something like going behind the walmart and picking up all the trash, and then taking it all out again for the next guy.
or telling 20 people to overwatch a high crime area with their helmet cameras to ward off any evildoers

in my dream they had to wear one of those helmet cameras and had armor made of whatever they found at the Foodbank.
I think this EBT-ask Force idea could be an interesting restructuring.
or at the very least really funny.

It also helped that the world's first welfare system got implimented in a nation where not working was deemed sinful. Protestant work ethic is no joke.
Welfare was never designed for nations populated by people who take pride in cheating the system.

Before gibs, the old and sick were taken care of by their family and community charities. No more gibs will force people to participate in society in a positive way to avoid dying miserably when they can't care for themselves.
And don't bring up people born disabled. They have been taken care of by their families since Hunter gatherer days. There is no reason to think people will suddenly abandon their children without gibs.
Saying this, I know it will fall on deaf ears since half the shitters in this thread are on gibs, especially anOminous.
 
Not to get too much into politics, but whether or not we see the mother of all chimpouts is wholly dependent on Chuck Schumer. He is aware Americans blame the Democrats for the shutdown, and the longer it goes on the more political capital he burns. However, if he caves to the God-Emperor's demands, the very murderous wing of the Democrat party (that he spent years cultivating, no less) may put a bounty on his head.

This will be an interesting few weeks. Stay strapped and never relax.

Generally if you planned well you should have at least 2 weeks of depression era meals before you fully run out of food, and you can last one or two weeks more with just water. By then the chimpouts will have destroyed Portland and the other Democratic strongholds and the Democrats will realize that people actually blame them and will capitulate and vote for the budget and then you get your stamps back.

People can go a really long time without food as long as they have water and the occasional potassium source. A guy in Australia went a year without food and he was fine.

Step on a scale, and compare it to the healthy weight for your height. Calculate what 5% of your current body weight is, and divide the difference between your actual weight and a healthy weight by it and that's roughly how many months you can go without food.

The EBT cutoff is very unlikely to last that long.

All welfare programs, including Medicaid, SSI, Obungocare, SNAP, and similar should be abolished in favor of a negative-income tax (or sometimes called a work credit) as proposed by economist Milton Friedman. This would immediately improve the quality of life for people working low-income jobs, incentivize employment, and fix labor shortages without having to rely on importing infinity shitskins.

Medicaid should be replaced by a government sponsored single payer healthcare system. Starting at age 18 (or whenever you start receiving income) you would be given the option to pay-in completely voluntarily unlike FICA. Premiums would be determined based on a number of factors such as age and demographics.

Finally, all personal income tax should be abolished in favor of a federal sales tax and tarrifs. Personal income tax disincentivizes work. This is a fact. There is no way to defer income which means you are literally forced by power of gun by the government to pay it. Consumption tax, such as tarrifs or a federal sales tax is a much more sane approach.

It's literally that fucking simple. I just fixed your economy bro. America won't really be a country in a decade but had we had this 20 years ago we would be the strongest nation on planet earth with an economy that rivals none.

We have that already, it's called a job. Instead of handing out food vouchers for performing tasks, they give you a voucher called a Dollar that can used anywhere for anything. The main issue is compelling niggers to do anything productive. Niggers would rather steal than work an honest living. Niggers will go out of their way and put in more effort if it means stealing time or money from someone. They will tell you to your face that they will rob Walmarts before they ever get a job. Trying to reason with these people is impossible. The only solution is TND.

For what's left of the EBT recipients, we do need better systems to help place people in jobs. Money should never be handed out for nothing barring maybe someone who is literally paralyzed from the neck down. Even then I've seen those people use eye trackers to operate a computer. The big question would be how much are they paid? Ideally we are only providing jobs to people who can only do low-skill work, but have high expenses such as medical bills. If the program doesn't cover it then the program is pointless. If it does then we end up vastly overpaying for the little amount of work being done. I guess as a social benefit we would eat the cost like we do now, but then how do we prevent someone from claiming disability just so they can work an easy job that pays more than it should?

I think the program is fine, necessary even, to promote a proper society of the developed world. People forget, we don't just subsidize all this shit because the government cares about niggers. It's done so we have a stable and sizeable workforce. The issue isn't finding a way to feed the niggers. It's importing poo jeets, chinks and beaners to replace the niggers thinking the niggers would step down from their diversity hire positions quietly. You give a chimp a banana a whole novel happens in between. So now the niggers are all in the middle, and the jeets and chinks are at the top. The beaners are in the bottom. Where are we, the people who founded the country supposed to work? You find out quickly too that the cause of angry white men is often the government taking shit from the white man and giving it to literally everyone else.
 
Shame that this is gonna happen, kids already struggle to get meals going on at schools since a lot of them tend to not have the "free lunches" stuff anymore. I'm not too crazy about laughing at nigs losing gibs, I think losing gibs just sucks for everyone.
