Now that you mention it, the last time I went to a Taco Bell, it appeared to be owned/run completely by jeets 🤔 Mind you, this was in northeastern Arkansas (hence, why it was notable - not that many jeets around).

It has nothing to do with "charity". The calculation is pretty easy. More heads = more public consumption (expected GDP growth up) + more demand (expected GDP growth up) + more monetary expansion (expected GDP growth up) + more expected production (expected GDP growth up). Its all about wrapping a socialist pyramid scheme turd in golden paper, securing monopolies and shoveling actually uncovered debt into the pockets of cronies.

Its not to say its not still possible but the concept of "just in time logistics" creating a society with out food shortages is inherently flawed mindset. And the societal taboo surrounding preparedness seems only to serve those who are best able to capitalize on scarcity.
People need food to live creating demand for food. Companies and corporations fill that demand and if they see that there is scarcity to fill that demand they will increase prices. Having food stores insulates you from scarcity and subsequent price rises but if there is no demand to fill the companies run the risk of going under or needing to downsize creating a spiral.
Its in your best interest as an individual to prep its not as beneficial to the economy as a whole though as the products sold are not reoccurring sales or services .

You need to look at church based programs. A full day program, 9-4, was only $1300/month/child in a county at nearly the top of the list by income.

I don't really see any taboo. Nobody can stop you from buying an extra can of beans or soup at walmart and filling up your pantry. Who gives a fuck what they think? If you aren't prepared, its kinda just on you. I see your point though.

Nah. The average American lives pretty closely to the average person in any other first world country. You wake up, take one good shit, have a coffee, drop your kids off at school, go to work, pick your kids up, do some sports, cook dinner, and go to sleep. Rinse, repeat. Do your major errands and maintenance on the weekends. The top and bottom 5-10% is where it differs. The highs are higher in America but the lows are lower. The top 5-10% of Americans are noticeably better off than the top 5-10 of say, Brits, Canadians, French, or Germans and the reverse is true for the bottom 5-10% of Americans.

While I agree the message is based and I'm not sorry for the jackasses featured in this and other threads, I AM sorry for people who may genuinely go without.

When I worked at a Walmart years and years ago, a lot of my job was helping people on welfare. Some of them were welfare queens, but the vast majority weren't. They were normal-ass people who needed help to get by, poor mothers with babies or group homes that used the residents' LINK cards to stock the group home's kitchen.

I know Null said anyone who can't feed themselves should die, but that's just too cruel to me. There will always be people in a society who can't work; elderly and infirm, people with ACTUAL disabilities, and leaving them to the wolves is just sociopath behavior. Humans take care of people in their society even when they've stopped being productive. That's love, and it's the right thing to do. If my tax money has to go somewhere, that's probably the best place for it.

I just hope that the folks that actually need help have stocked up enough in advance to not be too horribly impacted by this. At least they usually spend their welfare on food that lasts longer than fucking bags of Takis and fruit punch.
 
EBT pays out on different days for different people so the chimpout will unfold slowly over the coming weeks should the shutdown go on.
 
Sorry, what’s the logic in having food stores prepared? It seems like in the short term food prices will go down because there will be a brief window of decreased demand. Unless you think all of society will collapse from one month of no handouts? That’s not going to happen.

Depends, the sadbrains and muh panic attacks can and absolutely should be kicked off the dole and forced to work but the schizos with the voices telling them to get stabby are too dangerous to integrate into basically any workplace environment.

The BLM movement was irrevocably damaged after the riots. The national reckoning that would occur if we saw thousands of able-bodied minorities raiding grocery stores just because they’re not being fed by whitey anymore would be such a paradigm shift to normie brains, and so beneficial to the right, that I’m convinced it will never happen.
