Can someone tell me the Democrat strategy here? How is fucking over your own team a strategy to win? I really don’t understand.
In their minds, its a win-win scenario. If the republicans cuck out and approve the spending for illegal immigrant subsidies then it undoes a lot of the work done to get illegals out. If the republicans don't capitulate, then they believe there will be riots that Trump will have to deal with so they can again paint him as an evil fascist.

They don't actually care about US citizens and their wellbeing. They want violent riots, they want people to starve, all so that they can point the finger at the Trump administration to try to make them look bad.

If I was in charge here is what I would do.

First, SNAP/EBT limited to two years for those not disabled, elderly, or disabled veterans with honorable discharges.

If you are disabled/elderly, you get $500/month in food stamps when your application for Social Security/SSDI/SSI is approved. If you are a disabled vet collecting VA disability, minimum 10%, you get $500/month in food stamps. You get $600 for your birth month, have cake on Uncle Joe. This is not means-tested. AMERICAN CITIZENS ONLY. Can only be used in the USA unless you have access to American military commissaries in the country in which you reside, or you can buy online from the USA only.

This can also be used to buy non-food items like paper products, personal hygiene items, things to clean the house with, such as detergents, dishwashing soaps, spray cleaners, distilled water (for certain medical equipment), and garden seeds/plants.

This can be used to buy cooked food at any place that sells it, including fast-food places, restaurants, etc. This includes non-alcoholic beverages, but purchase of alcohol/tobacco is strictly prohibited.

There are rules depending on your housing situation. If you live at home, either by yourself or with others, you get the full amount. If you are in the hospital, you get the full amount. People rarely spend that long in a hospital anymore. If you are in a nursing home, the nursing home gets half to help pay for your food. If you are in a hospice, you get the full amount. If you are attending a college/university, living on campus with a required meal plan, the school gets half to help pay for your food, comes off your meal plan bill. If living on campus without a meal plan or living off-campus you get the full amount. If you are incarcerated in a city/county jail, you get the full amount for the first thirty days, then half for the rest of the sentence, allows you to buy commissary stuff. If you are incarcerated in a state or Federal prison, the prison gets half, starting on day one, still allows you money for commissary items. If you are homeless, full amount. If you live in a shelter/group home that provides meals, you get half.

This money is in addition to any other SNAP/EBT benefits other family members may qualify for, food banks. food pantries, food boxes, etc.. Believe $500/month beats the shit out of the usual pittance most of these folks get. Take care of Americans first, also a motivation for legal residents to become citizens.

northern Europeans are the only people who build countries that are great to live in and everybody else wants to flock into.
One could argue that asian countries don't seem to follow a robust sense of ethics and yield to authoritarian political regimes while the west is more democratic, but that dynamic increasingly seems to be shifting (e.g., being subject to anti-discrimination laws if you don't want to use your employee's pronouns in Canada, online hate-speech laws in England, getting prison time for online hate speech in Sweden or Norway etc. in contrast to Singapore's requirement that you have to get your cock cut off if you want to legally change your pronouns).

Mind you I'm not an asian simp or anything, I just think there are legitimate features of their culture/political systems that we could be positively influenced by (without necessarily implying that the whole system is just unilaterally better) and some of those features are likely responsible for their lower divorce rates, drug abuse rates, better health metrics etc.

I guess reality hasn’t set in yet.
"You fucking idiots voted to keep it shut down 13 times so far." is the only defense the Republicans need.
This is textbook Democrat bullshit. Lose the popular vote, lose all 3 branches of government and pretend like you can still get your shit in because "This is what the people want."
No nigger, the people told you what the fuck they wanted very clearly last November.

The democrats have been in a quite build up to a schism since at least 2024 when their left wing threw Biden under the bus, who was already a compromise between the Obongo left wing and the Clintonian "moderate" wing. A look at New York shows how bad it has become; the American "left" with at the one hand New Liberals ("moderates") and at the other hand straight out communists are cannibalizing each other. I tend to believe that the shut down never targeted the GOP or Trump but is the democrats left wings move to usurp power from the Clintonian New Liberal wing - with the left wing being so fucking delusional that they imagine themselves being able to come out as winners, inherit all the donors and financial heavy hitters groomed since after Carter and magically beat the GOP in '28 with a platform that is basically "lets transform the USA into the USSR - free stuff for everyone after "we" expropriated the "rich" " - the democrats are a cautionary tale of never believing your own propaganda. My bet is that Rand Paul is going to switch to the libertarian after the midterms, bringing todays Clintonian donor class with him and aiming for '32; with the democrats being a fringe party after the general election of '28

As much as I find some enjoyment over political debating, I think everyone will benefit to having this thread shift focus to more sheboon TikTok’s instead of autistic people fighting over political stances. Both republicans and democrats have pros and cons, big whoop. I want to see niggers and their contemporaries seethe over Nov. 1st, plus more chimpout doomsday prep ideas are always useful.

I can't overstate how blatant this shit can be. The stores will have the barrels on display for sale, ostensibly for sending properly purchased goods, and often will sell the shipping labels and handle getting it to the freight company. But not a single person there gives a fuck that what's going out is all SNAP purchased baby formula and candy. Even if you're the type to genuinely worry about widows and orphans not being reliably or competently aided through private charity, that shit is insane.

At work today pretty much everyone was talking about how much they'd love to shoot any niggers who riot over dey foodstamps and the various tactics they'd use. The welders even mentioned how they could make a killdozer which I found funny.

I still think nothing's going to happen. But the political betters on PredictIt disagree, with only 7% of people betting that the shutdown will end before November 1, and almost half of them betting it will last until November 20 or later (because of the way PredictIt works, think of the ¢ sign as percentages):

While I strongly think something will happen last minute to prevent any sort of issue, if there's even a 1% chance that their will be trouble, I'm going to stay cautious.

I truely feel for any Kiwis that will be effected by this. If you guys have even just $20 or $40 extra dollars go buy yourself either a bag of plain white rice and beans (black or pinto are good) and/or flour and lentils. Rice and beans are a complete protein when combined in a meal and so is wheat/bread and lentils. Also grab a big jar of PB for the protein, carbs and calories, a cheap jar of multi vitamins, and if you have any leftover money stock up on cheap canned goods like soup, spegghetti-o type cans, canned tuna, chicken, and some mixed veggies. Oatmeal is extremely filling and an awesome comfort food and it's also cheap. Bannas are hella cheap and you can buy several bunches, cut them into thirds and freeze them for storage. They make awesome smoothies if you have any protein powder or just add them to the oatmeal for extra carbs and calories. You can easily get a solid month of food with $20 if you just stick to the bare essentials. Stock up on lots of salt and cheap season mixes also or you're gonna get bored fast.

If you don't already have a gun, get one, and some Gold dots or Saber point or any other good hollow point brand.

I, like many other Kiwi women on here am a mother, so I want to limit any trips to the grocery store other than a quick dash in for milk for the youngest kids. If it were just me shopping I wouldn't care as much, but I can't go anywhere without lugging several kids along and I'm going to be on high alert when shopping. I just bought several bullet proof panels for the diaper bag and kids backpacks, and I'm always packing with an extra magazine. I highly encourage all Kiwi fems to buy and learn to use a gun, especially if you have children.
The type of person who is struggling to buy food is in a different category than the type of person who can afford a gun.
